It’s unlikely anyone, perhaps a scapegoat will be sent to prison.
The problem is even now, reams of evidence is being generated that a criminal court will have to spend years sifting through. A jury will have to be found that’s impartial, good luck with that with all the TV exposure and would they get a fair trial?
They have to be able to be presumed innocent in a criminal court, then proven guilty with evidence.

@@custossecretus5737 Yes, exactly, but it's still very wrong that all those involved will, as you explain, get away with such an abominable crime. So many have had their lives ruined, in other circumstances the perpetrators would be spending years in jail.

Let's not forget the crucial role of Cressida Dick in the judicial killing of Jean Charles de Menezes. She was incharge of the operation and authorised his killing. Yet a year later she was promoted to the role of Deputy Assistant Commissioner and later got the Queen's Police Medal in the 2010 New Year's Day honours. No matter how bad things turned out, her female lesbian status formed an ironclad shield against all criticism.

I'm not surprised by her evasion, denial, and buck passing, apparently, she was running the Post Office, yet conveniently, had no idea, what was going on. She's a Micro manager, constantly demanding updates, of everything, inside the company, yet now, was completely in the dark, very convenient, selective recollection. Tears? It was similar in Ireland. A woman put in charge of the national TV service, RTE. She ran it into the ground, corruption and dishonesty at top level. At the government inquiry to examine the crisis, she failed to appear, submitting a doctors certificate on each occasion. It's so bad many are calling for the closure of RTE, which managed for decades before her appointment. Look at formerly top universities in the US with women appointed as presidents in recent 8years, standards sliding rapidly and resignations. Diversity appointments must be outlawed if we are to bring standards up again.

I had wondered, given the mediocre impression she made at the enquiry, how Paula Vennels got to the top.
As for Cressida Dick (strange name for a lesbian!) I assume she was considered the ideal person to be Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police because she was not just a woman and 'LGBTQ', but she had spent 4 years as the Head of the Force's Diversity Department. These days that is far more important experience to get on in the Met than years catching criminals.
She was also in charge of the operation that shot dead an innocent Brazilian man at a London Underground Station some years ago in the mistaken belief that he was a suicide bomber. Still, that is far less important than Diversity.

I’ve got no experience of running a large organisation, in fact, I haven’t got a fuc…g clue. All I want is around £500’000 per annum plus plenty of time out of the office. Where can I sign up for a directorship?

    Simon.
Some years ago I happened to see a poster, obviously from the second World War, it featured a women in an overall and flexing her arm and showing off her muscles, seemingly to suggest she was working in the wartime shipyards in the USA.The " legend" under the poster said" do a man's job".
Somebody had written underneath, " be a lesbian ".

Don't forget Lyn Homer, head of HMRC. Under her watch the organisation couldn't even answer routine telephone enquiries within acceptable timeframes. Very capable of trotting out the lamest of excuses whenever challenged by Parliamentary committees and Margaret Hodge must have been sick of the sight of her.

Promotion without merit will cause dysfunction but in some occupations people can get killed. Airline and fighter pilots bring good examples.

Crocodile tears in the corporate world often represent the behaviour of a psychopath. Vennells is just as ruthless as the lawyers in the room. Empathy and moral consideration are never bargaining chips. You could apply that to all of the British Establishment.

Her performance reminded me of the legendary “Crystal Methodist” who ran the Co op Bank for a while back in 2013. Paul Flowers was appointed by Ed Milliband to a couple of significant roles in politics etc whilst also being a non exec director at Co op. About the same time as a £1.5 billion hole in the accounting was exposed. Flowers also ended up giving evidence on camera to a public inquiry and that also produced some newsworthy footage as it became apparent that he had barely any understanding of the bank or even banking as an industry. Identity politics makes fools of everyone in the end.

Over the last few decades there have been more and more women entering public office and promoted into decision making roles. Over the same time we have seen a reduction in common sense decision making, and a massive rise in political correctness. It is an interesting observation 😉

Jarnel Singh said he thought being called a “postbox” was a compliment and top to bottom they were all were desperate to take no personal responsibility hiring outside lawyers at any sniff of difficulty. Vennells was the same, a very expensive postbox, upset because she knows she did not take responsibility when it was needed.
