Gina, so glad that Al has you to keep him organized. The two of you make a great team. As a suggestion, since you have so many eggs now, what about making quiche once a week. They are so delicious and you can put anything in it, even leftovers. Love and blessings to you all.
How times have changed with all the cordless tools !!!! My biggest thing was keeping all my extension cords organized. Not to mention all the coffee cans with screws, bolts, washers etc. Once I retired I spent about 2 weeks getting everything organized and it was time well spent. My work van was the priority in the old days and it was well organized and I saved a lot of time because it was. Keep up the good work Al and Gina !!!
Gina I love the added music while you were cooking supper! So glad your a greater part of the homestead videos. Baby girl is growing up so fast!!! Slow her down lol.
The workshop looks great. Love the attention to details when you build anything and everything. Great job. The storage bay for all your tools gives you more room to work on your benches, and easier to clean up the benches when the tools are not in the way. Nicely done.
Two great minds working together to make progress! I love the tool organizer Gina! Great outlay! Great job Al on construction! As always, spot on! I’m so jealous, I want one too. But my garage is not as large as yours so mine are in cupboards. But my screws and nails are semi organized. I fixed a door jam today and did weed whacking. Not as productive as you two, but I’m older, have mercy. 😆😆😆. Love today’s video. Blessings to all, and remember we are given different gifts, so that we might bless each other with what the other can’t do. 😍
That was one of my favorite pass times when I was a kid. The bus would drop us off around 3 and I would still be out trying to get the water to drain at supper time. It used to really aggravate my mom that she had to send my brother to drag me home.
French cleats wall system ! Then offer your daughter an interview at the position internally posted as "Tool Crib Master". Details as part time, long term, rate of pay, skill set needed, tools provided, and interview date and time. Added incentives for bilingual abilities etc. During the interview you can ask if she has reliable means of transportation and is willing to wear PPE and uniform. Then mention at the end that you have another applicant to interview. This is a perfect moment for the arrival of another family member surprise visit. While the interview is being held with your daughter family can drive up unseen. The pay of course comes out of Al's earnings to pay for the service...lol
The workshop organiser looked absolutely amazing, well done Gina for the design and Al for the manufacture. God bless you and your family at Lumnah Acres. 🇬🇧
Wow! Gina is a great organizer and, you, Al, are a great builder that brings her dreams into fruition. I like it. That ham steak looked wonderful, Gina. Great idea for dinner. God Bless you all.
One thing I found very handy and useful is a 4x8 piece of Pegboard. Put it up and you can use all kinds of diffeent hooks to hang things up. A great way to get things off your workbench!
When Figaro shows up, I usually say, Hey Boss, how ya doin'? Suggestion, once you find the drain, maybe add a post or flag there winters so you can easily locate it in the snow to keep it clear?
I will admit, I love an organized shop!! No wasting time hunting for everything or having to make trips to town cause you can’t find it...you’re gonna love it too Al!!
I think your shop is wonderful. You have been busy and plus you have to work with space a while to see where you want to put stuff. I think your shop is well thought out.
Issue is, they made it just for their tools, not everyone has the same tools. People who dont likely would still make this and complain about it simply because they didnt read the distribution... he could have talked though his thought process a bit more so it would be easier for others to construct their own following his process, but not his plans.
I love the new build and the way your family work together. That dinner looked delish and because it was sped up, your mouth while eating reminded me of a squirrel eating... so funny!
Ditching the snow melt away from the roadways is a sure sign of Spring. Love the shop tool-organizer. As you accumulate more and more fasteners, I expect there'll be shelves for them. Peg board is handy for hand tools and they make heavy-duty L- braces you can install all along both walls for lumber you need to keep dry. We know you know where everything is in the shop but if it's organized then Gina and Olivia can also comfortably work in there. Never mind the drill holes in the new workbench; the holes fill with sawdust.
Gina, i am so glad you are growing your har out, even if just a little. You have the most beautiful hair, and so does Livvy. Enjoy it while you got it!
yes i do let gina do the organizing i suggest a wire basket system also peg boards and some shelving for things like box nails. and a couple of boards with screw glass jars under for sorting screws nails and such
When you find your drain just measure from two points on your building. write it down and the next time you cant find it just measure it out and dig where the lines cross. I did this with a drain where i worked and it worked great.
Good morning to all, I am so happy to see there will be organizations in your shop. I often wonder why you didn’t make some drawers for twine, tape, small levels and small wrenches. Have a blessed weekend to all.
Hey Gina if you get a sharper biscuit cutter your biscuits will be able to rise higher. The jar lid edges are blunt and it crushes the dough down on the edge of the biscuit, sealing it. You can make a cutter out of a food can cut in half with the squared off rim cut off. The idea is to get a single thickness of the metal so that it’s sharper. Love your cooking segments! And I love the shop organizer-makes me want to rethink our pegboards! Keep up the good work!
Buttermilk biscuit tip: Instead of cutting cold butter into dry ingredients try putting buttermilk in the freezer for about 10 minutes, melt butter and let it cool slightly. pour melted butter into cold buttermilk and stir with a fork until small clumps form then mix (a rubber spatula works great) into dry ingredients. the dough should be stiff and not super wet. I've found this much easier and quicker than cutting the butter in.
Love it! Now to figure out our nails, screws and fixtures! I can't wait to purge my garage of mischief. Love life, living daily. Thank you for my dreams of the future.
My suggestion is that you use one of the fiberglass reflective poles to mark the culvert. It will keep you from driving over the end and collapsing it as well as mark it when you need to clear it.
Al, peg board and hooks work extremely well for storage in a basement, garage or workroom. With the hooks you can space them for whatever needs you have. This is a lot less expensive than using wood.
Your Breakfast for dinner looked Scrumptious! I’d love to share a very well known Biscuit recipe, it’s called 7-up Biscuits, they’re so easy and so moist, you’ll never eat them another way again, it’s Bisquik mix , cut in sour cream and mix in 7-up and that’s it! Melt a 1/4 cup butter and pour in the bottom of the baking pan, this is what makes the biscuits very moist in the bottom! I just cut my biscuit dough into squares then bake them, I’m 59 years old and love biscuits, i just found this recipe a year ago and I’ll never make them another way again. I hope you give them a try:-)
Gina, I have the same problem when cooking. Have no problem making what I am going to make. Its just deciding WHAT to make. Usually by the time I figure it out I don't have the time to make it. Al, Going back to the video when you installed the culvert, I think the culvert might be a couple more feet closer to the goat pasture. Hindsight is always 20/20, next year I bet you will put a post next to the culvert before winter.
Great organization Gina...you too Al. Funny, how the women like organization..I noticed on Justin Rhodes channel how Rebekah organized an area in the barn and it looks so much better. Good job guys. Be safe. God bless.
Awesome tool holder guys these are what my hubby needs to make...but he has too many tools its gonna be wall to wall holders lol. Ty for the ideas... Stay safe have a good weekend
I think the one thing I haven't seen mentioned is thank you for sharing your life with us so we may tell you how to do it lol. God bless always and thank you for sharing with us.
French Cleats, have you heard of them? In a shop like yours, I would have them on every wall. I would make separate tool hangers for each tool and bins for things like screws. That way I could move the tool hangers and supply bins around to the most convenient location depending on the current project I was working on. Now, you have a place for everything but it won't organize the shop unless everything is put in it's place!
Pin board and hooks if you outline the tool shape with black paint it encourages you to hang that tool back and you can also see what is not returned to its place.
Mark your culvert with a flag or other marker and make a point to clear the snow and keep the culvert open. Here in the city we have to do that with our storm water drains cause if they don't drain our streets are sheets of ice. We also make sure the fire hydrants are cleared of snow.
My shop was always a mess....until one day I was working at the bench, turned around and tripped over the floor jack. Broke my leg and was down for 8 weeks!! That's learning the hard way! Needless to say, my shop is always organized now. I think you should build some cabinets up on the wall above the bench.
The way Little P jumps in the hay feeder, I believe just another piece of wood next to the center posts on each side may work. Her head seems to enter that blank space to get her body all the way up into the feeder.
Al, you make some of the coolest things. By chance have you thought of a "Modern Steaders" build book? Chicken coops, goat bus stops, barn doors, power tool caddy, shop table etc. I would love to have a book of "Al projects". Blessings.
Hey guys I am in love with the organized power tool holder! You may want to consider putting a pole or some other indicator into the ground close to the drain, just a thought.
Family, As much as you both Stand on that Hard Floor in Shop.. Might want to put down stall Mat to help with the Hard Floor on your Feet at Work Bench... Yes you needed the Storage space... Looks like you need to fix the Hay feeder on boys side Wasting a lot of hay over there !! Spring Right around the Corner !! Thank you for your time..
Love the way you have organized the big stuff, now you need something for all the drill bits, blades, nails, nuts, bolts and screws. Everything needs a space and everything belongs in that space. Love the bowl on the table, would it be easy to get?
We are up to 27 today so I know what you mean about the warmer temps. We have had more sun in the last 2 weeks than all winter. Loving it , spring is coming Al. We can’t plant outside here until first week of June when will you be able to plant outside.
I would suggest that you construct a few drawers to attach to the underside of your workshop tables to hold some of the smaller items. I use drawers to hold the smaller containers of nails, small paint touchup containers, pencils, saw blades, sandpaper, etc. Organizers of various kinds could be put into the drawers to keep things tidy. For the large buckets of nails, put some rollout trays under the drawers that they can sit on (sort of like what they use for kitchen cabinets). Those will give you full utilization of the underside of the tables and you won't have to get on your hands and knees looking for stuff.
Don;t say everyone, it is a barn after all, can be unorganized at times. As long as you know where stuff is,... is all that is important, thanks for sharing.
norm abrams of new yankee workshop said that of all the projects he did the one with the most views was his own workshop projects. my favorite of yours was the barn building series. if you make a spot for a tool. youll always know where it goes. after 8 yrs of truck driving when i came home for good one of the first projects i did was change all of the bottom cabinets in kitchen from doors to drawers w/full extension slides. since we had really packed the cabinets full we didnt really gain any space but we found things we hadnt seen in years and everythins was easy to get at. if you do pegboards make an outline of tool on board so youll know which peg is which. i would put some kind of visible marker on that culvert drain that you can see even with deep snow. dont you love everyone giving you advice from their armchairs while you do all the work. i live in san antonio tx and we cant seem to get out of the 70s here.
GREAT JOB!!! Really like it!!! Going to show this to my son's and son-n-law. Can I make a suggestion : put a small box or 2 on the side, for tape measures and pencils. My boys are always looking for them.
For several months I've benn watching your videos and have shuddered each time I've viewed the power tools scattered on your work bench. I've envisioned how I would store these tools. Al, you've done it again...A storage solution beyond any of my imaginings...Now, about those hand tools, and boxes of fasteners......
I am so proud of both of you, Al and Gina, for this first step in organizing the workshop! I'd love to see all the fasteners (nuts, bolts, washers, screws and nails) organized. You can do it!
You guys need a drill press! Also I cut pvc pipe and installed them under the cabinet to hold my cordless drills next to the charging system. Greetings from Perth Ontario!
What about using some pegboards this way you can hang up your wrenches screwdrivers. Just a suggestion I hope you guys have a great day and God bless you. PS what's for dinner LOL
Yes when I was in my teens my uncle and I had build a house in New Jersey and his Workshop we talk the wood and use the drill bit of all different sizes and made our own pegboard and took dowels and put them in for the different sizes of tools that you would need
Pegboard with painted outlnes for hammers, clamps, various rulers, levels, and so forth. That way you know what is misplaced. Sounds like a Gina and Libby job!
Hey mr. Al, Ms Gina, Miss Livy, just wanted to say love the idea of breakfast for dinner. I had breakfast for dinner last night myself. But wanted to ask a question. Have you ever tried putting a little water in your scrambled eggs when you make them? I was brought up 2 foot milk in my scrambled eggs. Didn't have milk at one point so I just put a teaspoon of water in two eggs in two eggs they turned out to be the fluffiest eggs I had ever eaten so have been putting a little water in ever since. Just something you might try. I do love watching your videos. Y'all take care. God bless you and yours all the way from Florida.
This is 9 months late however if you need additional tool organizing you may consider using French Cleats. A lot less material, much quicker to assemble, versatile changing tool locations, and easy to add as new tools acquired. Mostly 1x4 material. Very versatile in reorganizing. Good "How To" RUclips videos.
Al I'm always the same way about my tools and my shop also u gotta be mobile Get a dolly put milk crates with hooks straps and holes and stack them so if it's barn raising u get the dolly extension chords drills saws squares and claps and off u go
Gina, so glad that Al has you to keep him organized. The two of you make a great team. As a suggestion, since you have so many eggs now, what about making quiche once a week. They are so delicious and you can put anything in it, even leftovers. Love and blessings to you all.

Love Ginas plan of the power tool port! What a great way to store them. Always enjoy the time you spend with Livvies at her ice cream/coffee shop. 💗
Gina I love the added music while you were cooking supper!
So glad your a greater part of the homestead videos. Baby girl is growing up so fast!!! Slow her down lol.

French cleats are awesome i put cabinets on them
I for one would enjoy hearing you praying over your food. You know just every now and then as a change up.
Regina Gibson - Al is saying "Oh Lord make us able for all on the table" !!!
I just love seeing the tools organized ! " A place for everything and everything in it's place." God bless you all.
The workshop organiser looked absolutely amazing, well done Gina for the design and Al for the manufacture. God bless you and your family at Lumnah Acres. 🇬🇧

I love your tool rack!
I love how the goats know exactly where to go everyday and the fact they have a clear worn trail to the feeder..love your channel! Be blessed!🙏🏻💖
Al, I like your newest project to store your electric/battery pack tools.
Gina, I love you watch you cook and the biscuits look great.
I like went count in spanol and window sevice she is good and you have to enjoy with your daughter god bless the family.
Figaro is ready for Spring . Like your organizational tool box for your tools.
Now THAT is THE storage for tools! Very nice.
Great project
My fav is the PVC or ABS pipe holders for the drills and I always put a hook on the skilsaw and hang them everywhere
That shelf is perfect for your tools! Congratulations on your design. You should post your design for other's to use. It's the best one I've seen.
Issue is, they made it just for their tools, not everyone has the same tools. People who dont likely would still make this and complain about it simply because they didnt read the distribution... he could have talked though his thought process a bit more so it would be easier for others to construct their own following his process, but not his plans.
Add a little baking powder to scrambled eggs... doesn’t bind well if left to settle... but mix in with yolks beat well and heat... fluffy
I love the new build and the way your family work together. That dinner looked delish and because it was sped up, your mouth while eating reminded me of a squirrel eating... so funny!
Loved the way the goats all turned in unison. Synchronized goat herding! Great job on shop organization. Keeping all of you in my prayers 💕
Ditching the snow melt away from the roadways is a sure sign of Spring.

I enjoy each of your projects. Fun to guess amount of eggs. Really like your building different things since I do limited wood working.
Gina, i am so glad you are growing your har out, even if just a little. You have the most beautiful hair, and so does Livvy. Enjoy it while you got it!
Love the organization! Organization and efficiency is my sweet spot. Gina, I think you and I could be soul sisters!
yes i do let gina do the organizing

I love the sweet treat co. Adorable!!!
After I got my shop organized, I had a hard time finding my tools! 😜 messy shop is a productive shop.... 😂

That was fun watching the water move in the fast video.

Wow fantastic idea. Looks pretty too. Thanks for the idea hatching in my brain. My tiny house kitchen is going to get a lot more organized.
Love it! Now to figure out our nails, screws and fixtures! I can't wait to purge my garage of mischief. Love life, living daily. Thank you for my dreams of the future.
That organization shelf looked really good. I would put a pole small up to mark that culvert opening next year. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so relieved all the tools have a home now. If you make the habit, it does save time :) Nice teamwork you three.
Al, must have for your shop;longer push stick for table saw & a bench clamp for when you drill into wood. Love your channel 😎
Lol he'd probably be more than happy to let you donate them
Al, you make every project look doable. Love the tool shelf!
Great job on the tool storage box. Happy to see your videos. Patrick from Tennessee.
The tool storage rack is Totally Awesomeness!
Look at that, a whole empty shelf on top to 'get things out of the way'. Great design and good execution. Love your channel, never miss a post.
You got a "bakers dozen" of eggs today lol - Workshop is looking really good. Love your supervisor Figaro.
Great organization Gina...you too Al. Funny, how the women like organization..I noticed on Justin Rhodes channel how Rebekah organized an area in the barn and it looks so much better. Good job guys. Be safe. God bless.
The tool organizer looks great!

What about shelving for your tubs of nails n screws?
Pin board and hooks if you outline the tool shape with black paint it encourages you to hang that tool back and you can also see what is not returned to its place.
You could make cubbys to put your screw and nail boxes in. They could hang on the wall like the others and it would free up the under area for lumber.
Wow. My brain is hurting thinking about all the figuring you had to do for that tool holder! Man that was a big ham steak. Looked delicious.
Mark your culvert with a flag or other marker and make a point to clear the snow and keep the culvert open. Here in the city we have to do that with our storm water drains cause if they don't drain our streets are sheets of ice. We also make sure the fire hydrants are cleared of snow.

Love that tool station ... amazing what you create without plans
Truly do enjoy watching you build things. And learning. Turned out great though.

Libby will never forget her special time with her dad. Make believe all children this traight.
Terry Reust - Libby is short for Elizabeth, maybe you mean Livvy for Olivia?
GREAT JOB!!! Really like it!!! Going to show this to my son's and son-n-law. Can I make a suggestion : put a small box or 2 on the side, for tape measures and pencils. My boys are always looking for them.
Great build on the tool shadow box.
For several months I've benn watching your videos and have shuddered each time I've viewed the power tools scattered on your work bench. I've envisioned how I would store these tools. Al, you've done it again...A storage solution beyond any of my imaginings...Now, about those hand tools, and boxes of fasteners......
Yeah, an organized shop is a happy shop and a happy shop is a productive shop ... and safer too.
Outstanding organization Love it
I am so proud of both of you, Al and Gina, for this first step in organizing the workshop! I'd love to see all the fasteners (nuts, bolts, washers, screws and nails) organized. You can do it!
Cheap orange fiberglass driveway markers work for drains too.
French cleat system is versatile.. but its your shop Al you do you buddy!
Should have put a stake/marker for where the culvert drain was so you can easily find and clear it in spring.
You guys need a drill press! Also I cut pvc pipe and installed them under the cabinet to hold my cordless drills next to the charging system. Greetings from Perth Ontario!
The goats have such personality!! Great organisation.
Al, I think you'll have to put a marker to indicate where your drain is in the culvert :)
Loved that organizer. Need to move your charger near it so you don't have to walk clear across the room to get to it.
Judith Chilcoat ... like Julia Childs did with her pans, lol
This is the first time I have seen you with dirt on!! I’ve wondered all year how y’all stay so clean.
Great job on your organization!
Good morning Al,, Gina & family, and of course all of the animals. God bless y'all!
Liking the tools organiser, and loving the look of the 'breakfast'! :-)
