    Thank you for putting all of these amazing examples together in one place. I would love to see a book written about them, too. Like the tiny houses book, but for us who love nomadic living....

    Re-purposing the 3 Aluminum crutches as 2 frame members and the tongue was precious and the steel shelving as decking very clever ... !
    Many other models very interesting too.

    Automobiles are expensive, Smelly while the bicycle has been around much longer then the automobile. Just beware of those who think they own the street because there setting in 3000 lb,s plus of metal and stink up the air. I like these kinds of videos. Thanks for sharing.

    The photo of the yellow trike with the green tilt, at 0;13. That's our old Maximus trike, which belonged at the time belonged to Wheel Alternatives, of York, delivering parcels in the old centre of York. The rider is Chris Hamm, who sadly passed away in 2008. The photo was one of a set taken for VeloVision Magazine by Peter Eland. At 1;35 is a Brox, partly designed and marketed by another old friend who has now passed, the late Rob Brock from Manchester.

      In reality, less so!
      The material will crack, causing leaks, be horrendous to try to keep clean and other than as an art project, utterly impractical in actual use.

    cool video thanks for the upload 😊 I really like the idea of living small. I have a old pop up that I plan on making into a tiny house that I can pull with my truck. just something about the whole tiny house idea that I really love, keep it simple I think as a species we've forgot about what really matters in life especially the younger generation it's all about video games and cell phones. I think the bike trailer would just be to small for me.

    • @grandmama536
      @grandmama536  8 лет назад +1

      +Patrick Cavanaugh Thank you for watching my video and for your nice comment Patrick! The old pop up is a great idea to pull behind your truck and it gives much more room than a bicycle house would give you :) A bicycle house doesn't give much room. It does have wheels on it, you can tow it behind the bicycle, it can convert into a pop up which I love. It might come in handy someday, who knows.

    • @PatrickCavanaugh0420
      @PatrickCavanaugh0420 8 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the response, yea the bike trailer is an awesome idea especially on one of the bikes that you can put a gas engine on to make your travels a little easier. I just think someone would really have to commit to say a cross country trip on your bike not to mention you'd have to be physically able to do so. Problem with bikes is just like on a motorcycle the cars show no respect to you as a rider they treat you more as if your in their way and if they were to say hit and run you'd have no insurance to help with the expenses. Definitely subbed keep up the awesome videos friend 😊

    Bicycle camping was not available in the 1970's when I was a child in Illinois. It might have been fun in the summer vacations. But alas it was not to be. Now I am 52 and live in texas. To old for summer vacations, and texas is to hot for me in summertime.

    If you love bicycles check out velomobile here on RUclips type velomobile sun rider also here is a cool link with some information on velomobile. They are basically recumb ent reverse tricycle with fiberglass shell yo keep wind and rain and snow off of you. They are pricey sun rider models are the best and with a 500 watt electric motor u can go farther and uphill but they are expensive between 11 and 16 grand. Cab bike is cheaper but still 11 grand.you could probably get with airplane or boat fiberglass hobbyist and make one yourself cheaper if you already have the recumbent bicycle . Here's the link. www.velomobiles.co.uk/tag/cab-bike/. Veltop is another weather enclosure for bicycles made of fabric and windshield couple hundered for those. Now that I think about it they might make heavy duty plastic rain coverings like they have for the jeep wrangler. Just trying to think of better cheaper fully enclosed vehicles.oh yeah it was a steal on the tv. I found another one at another goodwill. For 15.00 it's in the living room. I bought me a Sony blu ray for the one in my bedroom and now I have a smart tv that streams RUclips to it lol. Awesome. big screen high def. 1080 I. With my wireless internet. smart Tv's are way too high priced.

    • @grandmama536
      @grandmama536  10 лет назад

      You have a good eye! Thank you for the velmobile link! The one I want is over $7,000 and I would love to have one of those, also now they have an elec on the wheel, just change the tire and it works like that too, but yea the velmobile would be great lol! I'd have to hitch a little velmobile's rv on the back of it, just in case. I like your planning, sounds great!

    • @grandmama536

      +deezynar He looks like a veteran, but not to call him homeless, since he is pulling his self built house behind him. There is his dog and they travel together, best friends! It appears to me, that he built his own bicycle and travels with his memorabilia, carries a big heart and is an earthy personality. No, I do not have a better design, for the same reason I do not have a design for a gasoline powered toothbrush: it is a horrible idea.
      The concept of towing a living space by bicycle is nonsense. It adds tremendous weight, rolling/wind resistance and complication, without any significant gain over using a tent.

    • @MavidG
      @MavidG 7 лет назад

      For long distance touring youre absolutely right. But for a homeless person that just moves around town its not a bad idea at all, bc its also a place to store your stuff. A collapsible camper trailer seems best.

    • @ontheroadwithyode390
      @ontheroadwithyode390 7 лет назад +1

      I have built a collapsible airstreamed camper trailer that weighs 16 lbs by itself and a total of 35 with bedding/clothing and basic gear. I tow it behind my electric 500 w bicycle for 3 monthes of the year. 2900 kms last summer. Absolutely love it. tcorourke2007 you should chill out and enjoy what these peoples imaginations have created sometimes out of necessity or simply for enjoyment. Lighten up dude!
