BH9 has been amazing on melee's side. Leffen did great even though his hands were hurting. Mang0 always an audience pleaser. This was fun.

Mew2King was playing great earlier but just seemed to mess up uncharacteristically against Zain, hoping his execution returns so we can see more of the immense hype he delivered this tournament.
Zain was playing fantastic, no doubt about it.
Mango was looking so washed until this very set, so glad he found himself.
I agree, this tournament was awesome because the top few weren't delivering the consistency they usually have. I don't enjoy melee because I know who is gonna win and how, I enjoy it when I'm surprised by what happens. Melee has felt kinda dull for me lately because HBox just doesn't have enough competition when Leffen isn't attending. I was so hopeful for Melee after he was being upset left and right because the top place was up in the air, but then he came back and stabilized every story. Not to hate on HBox, I just wish his opponents could challenge him a bit more.
Also I low key don't like how casual his Puff plays. It can too often feel like Puff just doesn't have enough kill options and interesting mix-ups for a match to have that level of unpredictability that I so love in Melee. If I could change Puff I'd give her more options and maybe nerf her elsewhere to make her consistency come from mix-ups instead of nuanced move spam.

IMO the most important thing to look out for to guess who wins in mango vs leffen is how well mango is playing around leffen's up tilts. He punished almost all of them here. In the winners set, not so much.

Adrian Pollard this was a pretty ugly set honestly. game 1 was just both players fucking up and killing themselves. games 2 and 3 were them just taking turns washing each other. game 4 was also a mess and game 5 leffen gave up.

facta26 Typically, it’s a bait. He drifts back with an aerial into forward smash to catch Leffen going for a grab or other small ranges option.

My hand went numb right before this set
I hate seeing the crowd dead silent after that comeback during the first set. That was an insane comeback, total throw-away game at first but leffen brings it back with 1 stock, taking 3 of mang0's stocks. Mang0 is my boy but I'd stand and clap for that comeback.
Year late, but it must suck to not be a crowd favorite. If you're Hbox or Leffen, and you play Mango, you go in knowing 95% of the crowd wants you to lose. They'll cheer every mistake you make, stay silent when you're playing out of your mind, and when you lose a close set and feel awful, you have to slink off stage while everyone loses their minds.
