- Video from the 23rd of September 2022 and an action packed day around Junee with a bunch of workings from both QUBE and Southern Shorthaul Railroad seen with some interesting loco combinations to boot.
First up we have 6MW7 steel with a pair of QL's approaching Junee, soon followed by SSR's 6MC5 empty grain to Coolamon with a CLF+C+442+CLF combination which we then see again as it howls through Old Junee. Heading back to Junee Yard we then see the arrival of 3314 Harefield shuttle feturing the only ALCo DL500B remaining in revenue service, 4497, sandwiched between 8030 and VL362, the trio then returning to Harefield with 3315 after 5WM7 steel to Melbourne had departed. A short trip out to the Bethungra Rail Spiral then sees ST24 XPT service demonstrating the climb of this interesting location.
Later in the afternoon we catch up with the SSR grain again, now loaded and roaring through Rockview before finishing back at Junee for QUBE's 3164 box grain to Minto with GL111 leading a pair of 1100's.
Trains seen in order are:
6MW7- QL007 and QL009
6MC5- CLF1, C501, 44223 and CLF2
3314- 8030, 4497 and VL362
5WM7- QL004, QL011 and QL003
3315- VL362, 4497 and 8030
6CM4- CLF2, 44223, C501 and CLF1
3164- GL111, 1106 and 1107

Great composition and scenery
great video and exellent recording. thanks once again.
Thanks Al, this one will be properly going live in a couple of days
Awesome video. A day very well spent. Junee is alway good value for train action. In 2017 I stood roughly where you were at Bethungra on the "not very safe looking" edge filming the XPT do the same thing. Looking forward to your videos from Goulburn 👍
Thanks Andrew, they've got a viewing platform there now which I was set up on so not nearly as shaky ground!
Good to see 44223 back in service. Are those last 10 grain wagons from SSR new?
Yep, new build BGUY's. There's more running out of Carrington painted brown.
Are those 10 Green SSR grain hoppers new or just repainted ?
Excellent vid 👍👍
Brand new, they've only been in service a couple of weeks
@10:48.... Turn up the volume 💥💥💥.
Goodday Brad,
Great video of the in's & out's of Junee.
I see the SSR grain has gone from 40 wagons to 53 wagons no wonder when I see it here at Appleton Dock it stretch from one end to the other.
1 loco for every 13 wagons.
Just about every second day it is here at Appleton Dock.
In my opinion the C Banger should be at the lead.
Great work 👍
Cheers
Louis 👍
Thanks Louis,
Must have a decent contract to be increasing the size of the rake, it's certainly making the locos work hard for it. Would expect the C will lead at some point but the CLF's would probably be better cab wise.
is this meant to be unlisted?
For now yes
