I am. I also have been watching many of his interviews since the the election here in the US in 2020. I dont agree with Putin on his tactics of taking Ukraine. I know our interest in the situation in Ukraine can expose many things that have been long overdue to come to surface. Thats why i believe the media is all over it. Putin sadly outclasses most world leaders.
But Putin also has exposed Russian Military tactics that for so long were unknown and speculative. US has wondered how strong Russias military is. Now with the recent invasion, it actually seems the Russian Military forces may be weaker than anticipated. It's kinda like ppl fear what the big guy is capable of doing in a fight. I guess the interviewer was expecting to catch Putin off guard with aggressive questions... Well, that certainly backfired. Putin was so calm he made a joke out of him
he was not caught off guard because he was prepared for these sort of questions. he avoided even saying alexei navalny’s name and continued to call him a criminal when never saying what he had done wrong. Putin may seem calm at the face but his body language and speech does not reflect this, this is actually suppressed by the fact that the interview was held in moscow and you could still see these things quite clearly.

The way he said it does leave room for ambiguity, but is there a better way to say "I don't think that happened", without outright saying or implying that Biden is lying? agreed... i don't necessarily agree with putin's politics, but the interviewer clearly puts him in the moral high-ground. i cringed so many times when the interviewer spoke, his questions show a total lack of respect for the man across from him, who meets that disrespect affably.
You can even trust the voice over unless you have a Russian speaker you know and trust

You are so correct Az Man. The interviewer asks his questions without being succinct or clear. He's very poor at formatting simple questions to be easily interpreted,, then when Putin answers the interviewer attempts to restructure the answer so as to blend to his agenda. Too funny.

I want to see Biden interviewed with no edited cuts for more than an hour. He wont last even if they toss him softball questions. Agree, interviewing Putin has to be a career defining moment for a journalist. Why ask such amateurish and disrespectful questions. But the journalist brining up "whataboutism" when Putin was laughing at hypocrisy made it seem like maybe the interviewer was coached by the intelligence services and just an actor.
