Can't imagine being out in the middle of the ocean with nothing as far as the eye can see and beyond. And then to dive off the side of your vessel in thousands of feet of water. WOW! I was thinking that there should be fish under those kelp beds but I knew you were vegetarians so I wasn't expecting you to fish. Now that the tacos were so good we will have to see if it happens again. Stay safe. I love your journey.
Hello to you both,I agree with you that the blackness at night is amazing.I spent many nights at sea and I could hardly believe the number of stars that can be seen.fair winds and a quick passage thank you for taking me with you, cheers Roly 🇬🇧.
Oh how I miss those nights at sea when its clear and all the stars are out! This has been a good passage so far. A little light on the winds in the middle but smooth sailing! So much fun to follow your passage! Stay safe!
YESSS!!! Great catch that fish was. You both look very happy living the journey to its fullest . Great shots and editing which make us feel like we living too right there on Navika.
Thanks! Yeah we really managed to get into a good flow and felt good about the passage! I was nervous we weren’t going to enjoy it and find it really intense but it was the opposite!
Im from PNG, live in Aust. We freedive to like 100ft without goggles.... genetics give us a thicker cornea... this is pretty casual. I do carry powerheads in case of sharks but.
Lovely film. Nice rhythm. Gorgeous fish you caught. Did your book tell you what it was? Taking an extra deck hand was a good idea, takes the pressure off doesn't it?
Thanks! No unfortunately the book didn’t tell me what the fish was. Still don’t know in fact 😆 so if anyone knows. And taking crew made such a difference, just in terms of being able to sleep double the amount and get extra help for sail changes!
Just found this is video from no where. I wanted to see how to feels to swim in the middle of the ocean, but it seems too cool. Thnks for this video. I must say it was instant crush after seeing Alex. So beautiful you look, O Girl!!! Heart missing a moment. Love from India to you guys!
Turn off the engine when dolphins interact if you go motorsailing. Young fellas usually follow the adults that are enjoying surfing ahead. They are extremely curious and might get hurt by the blades.
TOO LATE TO TELL YOU THIS: ALWAYS TAKE DOWN ALL SAILS...when you go SWIMMING OFF the boat. Unlikely you'd be able to CATCH the boat...if your SAFETY line/buoy breaks. Yes...STEVE SODEN...I remembered what you said!
Nadar en medio del océano es una barbaridad. Parece un gran desierto azul pero no lo es del todo, tiene habitantes con lo que puede resultar una tragedia encontrsrse, y se perfectamente de qué estoy hablando.
I am planning boat-life, although as yet undecided in what form…bluewater sailing (would need lessons) or a narrowboat on canals; but after watching your video and others I am certainly leaning towards a sailing yacht and have started looking for used boats! It must have been amazing swimming in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean!😌🙏👍
Maybe with an army of aquatic drones pointing in all directions I could start to think it's safe to jump in the water... Maybe... BUT if there were orcas, I would jump without even thinking. :) Well, great experience for you guys. Enjoy the crossing! Have good wind!
You have to be careful with climate propaganda. When Columbus reached the deep blue waters of the central North Atlantic, he thought he was very close to shore. After all, there was suddenly an abundance of plant life in the form of a floating algae, which he called, simply, "weed." His sailors, meanwhile, feared that their ships would become irretrievably entangled in the stuff. Their fears were misplaced as were Columbus' hopes. The weed which scientists ultimately dubbed sargassum, after a Portuguese word for it is neither sturdy nor abundant enough to ensnare a ship of any size. And even the westernmost boundaries of the Sargasso Sea a two-million-square-mile ellipse of deep-blue water adrift in the North Atlantic lie many hundreds of miles from the North American shore.
I like the videos but the music ...not so much. That same jingle jingle echo reverb angelic voice bs literally every mediocre sailing channel uses ;;) Very derivative.
This really made me dream of crossing Atlantic ocean! Would be the top of my life!
Love the mood of your videos. Your channel is one of my favorites.
Wow, thank you!
Loved this video!! Your smiles are contagious!

Real sailors now!!😉
😎🥳
I have had a swim in the middle of the Tasman. Did not feel to comfortable with the inky blackness below.
Nice swim!
I could never go on a boat with more people than myself. I am a very shy pooper. 🤣🤷♂️
Would you take a paying traveler on your future crossings?

Good to know!
Crazy guys weren’t you afraid of sharks 🦈
Tried not to think about it too much 😬😬
Has anyone told you that there are some big big sharks out there.
thankfully we're still alive to tell the tale 🤪
The ocean looks blue on RUclips, but in real life it looks green.
Ahhh them doldrums
😬😬😬
Im not sure who was the first people to cross he Atlantic but imagine how they felt not knowing how long it would take.

Yes...STEVE SODEN...I remembered what you said!
I don’t sail but losing morale when you get a few days without wind seems a bit dramatic.

I would be scared shitless swimming in the middle of the ocean ……………!
You only live once though!! Gotta go for it haha (but yes I was a little scared 🤪)
@@NavikaSailingshould you not have life jackets on?
That's where the Really Big Sharks follow boats and ships around waiting for the moment someone or something falls over. No Joking.
😱😱😂😂
Lol i would be so scared for the sharks also the boat cathing wind and going away
Isnt it dangerous to swim there also all of you being off the boat
How do these people afford to live like this .when they don't work
