If you avoided paying £350 owed to the taxman, you could be prosecuted because you can't have people going around costing the country £350 it needs to pay for public services. But if you cost the country 10 million times more than that, not only don't get prosecuted, you can turn up at a prestigious institution and give a speech and be applauded by hundreds of powerful people.

The banks globally since 2008 have been printing money like no tommorow keeping interest rates artificially low which could never continue for ever.
Truss also claims 60% of the expenditure in her mini budget was on energy subsidies on Business and domestic customers.

Doctors, lawyers, accountants, nurses, their professions are regulated by professional people who can suspend them or take away their right to practice. Politicians, however, once they get voted in, there's nobody to vet them. The Privileges Committee, the independent organisation, Mr Speaker, all completely useless (the last Speaker was a a misogynistic bully whom even the government couldn't get rid of!). In the private sector, Truss would have been "let go off" long ago, preferably from a cliff.
Right wingers have completely abandoned the concept of shame, this woman should be in a dark corner somewhere living her life quietly. But no, she's shameless and apparently doesn't feel humiliation.

She wouldn't qualify for Universal Credit, claimants receive nothing if they have more than £6,000 in savings, or have resigned from their last job.

The more I listen to JOB, the more I like him. He gives people a chance to voice their dissenting opinion when he asks for someone to tell him why they agree with a certain viewpoint. I especially like it when he says I am not going to argue with you, I really want to hear why you believe the way you do. those discussions are enlightening. Every single homeowner or renter who loses their home because their monthly bond repayments or rent has gone through the roof, or has to send their kids to bed hungry because they cannot afford food for them needs to give this ... woman ... a call. And then in simple words tell her what she is full of, what she is talking, and what she has cost each and every one of you, and most people in the UK.
In passing, I hope her "book" is printed on absorbent paper.

It's hard to blame inflation on Truss seeing as it's a global problem that started way before she was in power. We need to look at who wanted to hand out so much furlough cash.

Really her and Kwasi should be in prison for the damage they did to the UK. People have lost their homes, livelihoods and more. They had less than 2 months in power and damaged the economy beyond repair
Just imagine how it must feel to be her parent. Both are highly intelligent, left-of-centre, educated people who tried to give their daughter a decent upbringing, but regression towards the mean has resulted in Liz - a meaner fool one could never imagine.
Just because parents are intelligent doesn't mean that they passed the right genes further.
