    Like one comment noted, the proportions are not “true to life” (the low hairline, the miniaturized face, etc). but it’s an appealing representation of the character that is recognizable. It’s a perfectly adequate drawing for a skilled-intermediate sketch if not a professional artist.

    Yes you are very talented and have technical expertise, and the initial lines are helpful. However, I would have benefited much more from a verbal explanation of how you are looking at the foto and deciding where to put the features, what you are considering about the size and placement and details and how that relates to the Loomis method.

      @onepenciltutorial  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, that's the Loomis way. There are some differences between Loomis's method and Broco's teachings, but both are good ways to learn to draw.
      The Loomis Method focuses on building form through the use of basic shapes, such as squares, rectangles, and triangles. This method is useful for learning how to draw the correct proportions of shapes.
      Brocco's teachings focus on constructing form through the use of basic lines. This method is useful for learning how to draw dynamic and realistic shapes.
      In the end, the best way to learn to draw is to experiment and practice. Try both methods and see which one you prefer.

    As an artist who has made probably 10,000 drawings, and with many credentials that I shall not enumerate, I disagree with this manner of how to go about drawing a portrait. I find it to be off-point, and actually teaching what I would deem bad habits. There are better ways to learn.

      I agree. I have done many portraits but always rely on the tried and true methods of the Masters, such as Leonardo DaVinci, Michelangelo and Rembrandt.

      It's shows in his drawing how bad this technique is! It's out of proportion!

      There are small disproportions but the performance still deserves credit. I want to ask the creators what type of pencils have been used in this one?
