    I haven't watched this yet, but I really hope Obi-Wan (played by Ewan MCGregor) is a Force Ghost in Episode 8! Ewan's portrayal of a younger Obi-Wan was a saving grace of the Prequels!!

      I hope not cause I'm still getting over the dumb vader force ghost change.. it was Alec guiness so I hope they age Ewan to look like him if they do. Also change vader back to chubby white bald vader.

    YES please to having Obi Wan returning in Episode VIII! But out of the Force Ghosts, Anakin is the most important one to the story. It's his family that are in the story, it's his grandson who has fallen to the dark side and is obsessed with his grandfather. It's Anakin's legacy of destroying the Sith and bringing balance to the force that Episodes VII-IX are exploring the results and consequences of. These 9 Star Wars Episodes are about Anakin and his family, he's probably the most important character in Star Wars. PLEASE Rian Johnson, bring us Anakin Skywalker, and Obi Wan. Imagine Anakin talking to Luke or even Leia.

      I completely agree with you

    • @TownieGirl1974
      @TownieGirl1974 8 лет назад +10

      I couldn't agree with you more. I do really want an Obi-Wan Force Ghost in Episode 8 and/or 9, but the story itself is so calling for The Force Ghost of Anakin Skywalker to show up. A confrontation between Kylo Ren/Ben Solo & the Force Ghost of Anakin Skywalker needs to happen.

    • @nobleskywalker4639
      @nobleskywalker4639 8 лет назад +3

      I agree the character who is in all 6 movies and is the single most important character needs to return because this is the battle of his 2 legacies his legacy as Vader and his one as Anakin its his grandson and possibly his granddaughter fighting with the balance of the galaxy i just dont believe that he just dissapears and we never hear from him again

    • @Thewolf927
      @Thewolf927 8 лет назад

      +Karen Catizone yeah I agree, but I think it would be cooler if it happened in nine like Ani shows up and tells Kylo/ben to overthrow Snoke or something and have Ben/Kylo return home with his tail in between his legs or end up with a dramatic sacrifice.

      Ryan Meaker
      Well no shit, but I think if you're putting a new actor who is going to be younger. You probably shouldn't place him in right before the original movie when he was played by Harrison in his 30's.

    Imagine in Episode 8, about half way through Luke is reflecting on what happened to his nephew Kylo. He is staring over the cliff of the island onto the ocean with tears in his eyes. He closes his eyes and hears a voice "Luke..." He opens his eyes and slowly turns around to Obi-Wan's ghost. He says "Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope." Yoda appears and says "no there is another, a new hope... The girl. Train her Luke."

    I don't really understand how a Han Solo appearance in Rogue One makes sense considering they are probably going with a actor that is 20-22 years old, and there is no way Rogue One takes place more than weeks or even days before the start of Episode 4. Han Solo is not 20-22 year old in episode 4. I honestly wish they weren't doing a Han Solo movie

    man that picture of old timer mcgregor looks amazing, why is disney wasting time on a han solo film that is so dependent on recasting one of the most iconic roles ever instead of taking advantage of a character people love played by an actor who really really wants to play him again and can actually pull off both a younger version of himself and an older version of himself so perfectly?

    The thing I liked about the space whales episode is that all of the crew, besides Ezra thought the whales were just pests. Ezra subconsciously knew, through the Force, that they were actually sentient beings. That changes everything. And creatures that can travel through hyperspace?! That's a cool addition to the canon.

    Ahh, I always end up wanting more.
    I also think having some kind of Force Ghost is a logical choice, Yoda/Obi Wan would be a good fit for obvious reasons. Anakin Force Ghost Interaction would be the one and only way for me to see any kind of logical redemption for Kylo Ren.

    That no disintegrations question was a great one, I hope they explain it. In the old lucas arts company, they had the jedi knight series and in that game (which was a confluence of third person and first person gaming) theres a gun you can use called the 'Tenloss Disruptor Rifle' , and when fully charged and fired, it disintegrates your target the same way fire burns a paper.. but in a split second after you fire them. So it wouldn't be the first time we see a gun do that in all of star wars, but it would be awesome to see in the film

    Christian stated in movie news that the ROGUE ONE flick is probably not sequel bound and is a one off movie only. He is thinking of it as a story with a plot so close to the events immediately leading to EP 4. However, think beyond that and retrieval of the Death Star plans and the Rebellion cast of this movie moves onto the events before, during and after EMPIRE and JEDI. Of course if this movie is a huge hit, which it will almost assuredly will be, ROGUE ONE will be ROGUE 2 and ROGUE 3 with plots on snowy Hoth or the woods of Endor with the Rebels. Take all the events of the original series from a new perspective and new characters with some familiar and you have an amazing new Star Wars trilogy if done correctly.

    Here's why I think it's entirely possible that Benicio Del Toro is Ezra:
    You don't have to reveal his name.
    In the Star Wars universe, bad guys use pseudonyms pretty much all the time. We as Rebels fans don't need to know at the time that Episode 8 comes out that he is Ezra. They could just not reveal it at all in the trilogy. Assuming the last season of Rebels comes out around the same time as Episode 9, I think it would be super cool for Rebels fans if the show becomes a backstory for Del Toro's character without anyone even knowing it. Like, assume he has something to do with the formation of the Knights of Ren. That's how he's introduced in Episode 8. His name in the movie is _____ Ren. Then as the show comes to a close, in those last few episodes, we start to see how Ezra forms the Knights, how he goes full dark side, and it becomes more and more apparent that he was Del Toro's character the whole time. It's brilliant. And would further prove how much care and forethought and overall respect for this new canon Disney has. It has the advantage of making it so you don't need to watch Rebels to get everything out of the movie, but if you do watch the show you get that bonus backstory. Kind of like how we get so much more out of Anakin by watching Clone Wars.
    You guys have been blowing this off this whole time for a good reason. Obviously you don't introduce Del Toro's character as Ezra Bridger. THAT would be really stupid because that name is meaningless to 99% of the people who will watch the movie. But you've been missing the idea of introducing him as a mysterious dark force user that doesn't need any deep explanation, and THEN, a couple years later you mould Rebels into this neat backstory. Am I crazy here?
    Side note. Has anyone considered that Sabine is of clan Wren, there's a slight tease that Ezra and Sabine might have some relationship down the line, and that it's entirely possible that if he takes her name it's a possible origin for the name of the Knights of Ren?

      +James Murray Well, I did read it all. I like it and I mostly agree. Also it's funny, the council thinks "Twilight of the Apprentice" means the death of Ahsoka. But it could also EASILY mean the fall of Ezra, to the darkside as well. (Why else bring in Maul?)

  • @The_blindpizzaguy1300
    @The_blindpizzaguy1300 8 лет назад

    I'm thinking that probably earned her some respect among the community because news travels fast in this galaxy. Plus you also need to realize that any kind of docking maneuver with the ship that is almost twice your size isn't exactly the easiest thing to do either. Plus not only that but she kept the Thai fighters from pursuing her which is something else that is not exactly the easiest thing to do. So I would have to say that that makes her a little bit more then a mechanic in my Book. And I think it's also possible to believe that chewy felt the same way. Also I think another reason why chewy liked her so much was because she could actually understand him. And she did it by using the force. And I think that because he has witnessed Luke's force abilities in the past I think that sort of made him feel like he was reconnecting with something that he lost.

    But Liam Neeson WAS supposed to be in III, but he had an accident not long before he was supposed to be Ghost Qui-Gon; near the end of III; so they instead had Yods mention Qui-Gon instead.

    I hope if Obi Wan does come back, they borrow a line from the Legends (EU). I can't footnote it exactly, but Luke was lamenting the fact that he was the last of the Jedi, and Obi wan's Ghost said "Not the last of the Old Luke, But the First of the New."
    That line has always stuck with me. It would play into any remaining reluctance Luke still had for getting back in the game with training Rey. The past is the past, learn from it, and move forward.

    Ready Player One is a love letter to the 70s and 80s geek culture. Stars Wars fans should check out Armada, Cline's second novel, which is a love letter more directly to sci-fi fantasy films and games. Star Wars, Star Trek, Battle Star Galatica, and The Last Starfighter are just a few films and series Armada pays homage too, but with it's own creative take on this genre. Cline really is a great author, and both books are home runs in my opinion. His characters are realistic, and his plots develop naturally, and it all flows together to create a great story that I think most Star Wars fans would enjoy. It would be nice if Disney could get Cline to write a Star Wars novel even! This guy is somebody to keep your eye on.

    Once this trilogy is done, they should wait a few years (five at max.) and start a new trilogy (with anthology films in between this trilogy and the next)

    All I want is an Obi Wan Anthology film with Ewan Mcgregor. I'd even be up for an Anakin Anthology film if Hayden Christensen was actually a good actor. I don't know if him or Lucas was the problem but I would hope it was just Lucas that was holding back his acting.

    • @twmcgraw3035

      +nrs10001 Hayden is actually a decent actor, but because of the prequels and his performance in those films I don't ever want to see Hayden as Anakin again. I would be all for an Obi-Wan stand-alone film, though. Make it a western on Tatooine and I'll be there day one!

    • @nrs10001
      @nrs10001 8 лет назад

      twmcgraw303 I think it's less about Hayden though and more about me wanting Anakin to be redeemed in a film. He would be my favorite jedi just from watching the clone wars but every time I think of him I just think of the prequels. Kinda ruins his character all together.

      he must be in 8 for 2 reasons: redemption and also it makes sense for the story this is his 2 legacies fighting as vader and the other as anakin i just dont believe that he just dissapeared while watching his grandson and possibly his granddaughter fighting with that fate of the galaxy at stake.

    I think you are dead wrong on the Han Solo cameo in Rogue One. That story will most likely be set no more than a year before ANH, so Han Solo wont look like Han Solo in ANH. Huge problem in my opinion. Also, the Death Star plans stolen during Rogue One cant be "on the run" for years between beeing stolen and almost beeing retrieved by the Empire in ANH......thats just to far fetched for me. The new Han Solo story is probably set 5-10 years before ANH. My two cents🤓

    Hi guys, love all the shows you guys do. My questions is this, why is it that Luke's arm is shown as robotic CGI in SWVII? I know when the trailers for SWVII all came out we were all like, there's Luke touching R2 with his hand, but wait his hand had skin on it, also at the end of SWVII when he pulls his hood over and you see his robotic hand..
    He of course gets his arm cut off by Vader in Empire in that great scene, then he gets his new arm and it has human skin over it as the robot who does the surgery on him pokes him a few times and then he closes it up. Then flash forward to Return of the Jedi and he wears a black glove the entire film, he gets shot in that hand on the Han rescue with Jaba and then they close in on him fixing it later. What happened to it, did it malfunction after Jedi or did something happen when he was teaching the Knights of Ren? Do you think they will explain this?

    I am so beyond glad that Simon Pegg's character Plutt got his arms ripped out of their sockets. I'm only sad that we didn't get to see it happen on screen. I would have jumped out of my seat and cheered in the cinema. It would be just desserts for a man like Pegg, who hates not only the prequels, but the people that like the prequels.

    Regarding disintegration: have Boba Fett in Rogue One, and have him "disintegrate" some people, but have their bodies look like the charred remains of the Lars family. Then also release a comic that shows Boba hanging out with Jabba in Mos Eisley and getting a call from Vader to find some droids at the Lars homestead. Boom, canonising fan theories.

    I read a rumored plotline for Episode VIII that said the film would open up with Finn and Poe traveling somewhere in search of Lando at Leia's request since the Resistance needs all the help it can get. They find Lando, who has been going under another name, with his daughter and he agrees to help them. I don't believe this rumor at all since later on it was said that Snoke is Palpatine which is ridiculous, but even so I can see Lando being introduced in that way and I actually hope that small part of the rumor is true.

    I hate the idea of a young, recast Han Solo. It worked for Obi-Wan but as great as Alec Guinness was, he still doesn't have the recognizability of Harrison Ford. There are so many other stories they could tell.

    Apparently there's more to those helmets that meets the eye. And I'm just saying it like Pablo would. And although the Star Wars people kind of look like humans they're really not because they're all from different planets and maybe evolution it's different and maybe their body chemistry is a little bit different as well.

    I think where Boba Fett first started working for Vader is in the Vader comic, I doubt he will appear in Rogue One. He will be big in Han Solo and his own film though so it's fine.

    If Benicio Del Toro is Ezra that would be great. Episode VIII wouldn't need to provide any backstory on the character, but if you want to know, go watch Rebels.

  • @temojin9489

    The Rebels series is excellent with a group of new characters in the Star Wars Universe, and I would like to see the focus of the anthology movies on new stories (like Rogue One) rather than young versions of old characters, i.e. Han Solo, Lando, and Obi Wan.

    Obi-Wan’s ghost already reached out to Rey in the Force Awakens. It would be strange if Obi-Wan’s ghost doesn’t show up to speak to both Luke and Rey about what’s going on. Anakin and Yoda could return too.
