Teardrop by Massive Attack, improvised on acoustic guitar

- Heard this the other day and still thinks its an amazing song. So I sat down, and played a bit with it, improvised some and played it as I remember it.
It is Teardrop by Massive Attack, a song that are from the Mezzanine Album. A legendary album in my mind. Fantastic band.
I recorded it with a Zoom H2, slapped in front of the guitar, with open windows. So there is a bit of traffic noise. The guitar is my favorite acoustic a Hagstrøm Mora Concert. I changed it a bit. Took off some Lacquer and installed a Fishman p.u. in it. But it isn't hooked up in this video, its just the H2 capturing my groaning, traffic and luckily enough, also the guitar.

I'm very happy with it. It comes with a pickup, but i didn't like the one that was installed. So i switched to a Fishman Matrix Infinity which is fantastic. I also sanded off quite a bit of the lacquer on the top, to make it more alive. I played it a couple of months before it really came to life. Now it becomes better all the time. Its intonation is clean on all frets. On the recording it is the acoustic sound, but live i use the pickup. It sounds awesome and i truly love it dearly.
By playing it from memory you've created a beautiful and accessible version. I've watched dozens on here with a view to learning. Some are way too complex and some are just too simple. I think you've struck the right balance with this cover. I love it. Thank you.

D'addario 0.11 - 0.52 But I'm considering 12's. But in regular tuning the 11's has great tone and impressive sustain.

Hagström Mora Concert. It was the same color, but with a reflective surface, that might have seemed darker. Just like the headstock. :)
It might be called Mocon in the US, I'm not sure.

Hagstrom acoustics are awesome. I've got a '69 J12 same as David Bowie's but with 6 strings, amazing tone and an almost fretless type resonance. I love it

Hi I might be getting a hagstrom mora dreadnought and was thinking of making it satin/matte instead of the gloss. How did you remove the lacquer? Did you notice any changes in the sound? Also Awesome videos!
+BowStreet Runner Carefully dry sand it. Then carefully wet sand it. That's what I did. :)
