- #manga #junjiitocollection #Urasawa Legendary manga horror master Junji Ito shows fellow mangaka Naoki Urasawa, his process from pencil to inks to computer shading in creating a single, incredibly rich and detailed page that only Ito san could conjure.
I love how this is like a nature documentary and Junji ito is the animal
Haha! That's a funny (and strangely apropos) observation. Or maybe he's just an alien among us. A terrifying alien...who likes cats.
His process is mesmerizing. And he really manages to create never before seen images, which is a really difficult task in our post-modern world
Agreed! He's a total original, which almost seems impossible these days.
I have even more respect for this guy now. Just, wow, I'm blown away by his creativity, talent, and dedication. Truly inspiring.
This man is so talented. Love watching him work.
No doubt he is a brilliant artist, but I struggle to comprehend a mind that comes up with this stuff tbh
I completely agree with you and honestly his stuff is too disturbing for me. There are some Japanese artists like Ito and Suehiro Maruo who I literally can't look at their work without feeling nauseous.
Fun fact Junji Ito is one of the most wholesome people ever, he loves cats and even has an entire series of autobiographical stories about learning to love them and competing with his wife for them. Also there's a video here on youtube about him learning how to do the whip and the naenae
I wish we were best friends
Urasawa Naoki and Junji Ito
My fav mangakas 🎉
Excellent taste. Although Ito is too intense for me :)
Also if you look in the Anime Recommended Playlist there is a video of Urosawa drawing as well. :)
yo, do you have the full video of this? it was on youtube a couple of months ago, i remember watching the full thing too. tried to find it but no luck, seems to be removed. any chance you have it on a different platform or anything?

too scary
Not only is his stuff too scary for me but something about it literally makes me nauseous. I was surprised how much I enjoyed seeing his process and the discussion and was even enjoying the concept and the drawing. But then I looked at an image of the finished piece online and it made me queasy. It's the same picture but just with so much detail I just can't explain the effect. But yes, his stuff is way too disturbing for me. I just liked the process.
I watched the layers of terror episode of the Netflix show. There's something about it thah just makes my skin crawl and my gut wretch.
Ok this is sooo cool but is it just me or it kinda looks like azzyland
