It's soft and wallowy because you set the tires 5psi lower than the factory specs (35, as I recall from my door jam). For track use, in a heavy car with low profile tires, you'd be so much better served by 40psi cold with this particular model. I bet you tore the snot out of the shoulders of those tires, did you not? *Watches further* Why on earth are you continuing to talk about dropping tire pressure? You're going to destroy the tires at best, and destroy a rim at worst. *watches further* WOW! And just as predicted, the underinflated tires got wrecked. 40psi next time.
