David's voice is one of the greatest in the business, because his voice has so many facits, you should hear him sing the Uncle Walt songs. You know he was Uncle Walts bass player. Unlike some singers who have to have pitch correction electronics, he walks up to a mic and it is on pitch and it is really him you hear. He also in one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He is from the Spartunburg SC area.

You may have a point never thought of it that way, much of Straits success in my opinion was due to the sudden death of Keith Whitley and in making of the movie Pure Country, he was able to capture a younger audience at the time when DJs had stopped playing the legends
