It's nice to hear someone with similar views!! No one ever gives credit to the late 80's to early 90's era. Country had its greatest sound during this period, as I argued once in a college paper! It had just figured out how to refine & get that perfect sound --not too pop but traditional sounds remained dominant! It died when Garth & Shania's sound started forcing Country to change it's sound.

Every element of a great song, including a touching story and the ultimate climatic vocal moment. Diffy never got the credit for being one of the smoothest most talented country stars to ever sing a country song.
