Funny story... I was 14-15 yrs old , my dad would play this cassette tape all the time in the truck riding around New Orleans. I would bitch and say I hate country, put on some hip hop and he say “hell no”.. here I am almost 40 yrs old and I ride around listening to Aaron Tippin. My 11 yr old son thinking the same thing Lmao. Once I became a dad and man you realize, at least for me, this is great music
This song is in my memories, after Desert Storm I came home and decided to drive cross country from Tennessee, and yes I was heartbroken. I did make it to California, but the heartache took a long time to pass
I love this song from Aaron. It wasn't a big hit, but I played it forever on the radio at 96.5 WDOD FM. I liked having exclusives that set my show apart. I met Aaron when this album was new at Lake Winnepesaukah near Chattanooga. Aaron had just returned from playing for the troops. It was Father's Day. Aaron is a really nice guy.
This song was in my head constantly in 1991 while in bootcamp in San Diego. I got my mind off leaving home and got me through to graduation. Great music in those days.
@@johnspencer4176, 90s had some real good music. Didn't realize it at the time, but looking back on it now. Man it was a great decade for music and to be alive
I agree, one of the best songs ever I could listen all day too ! wow !!! Is there no place I don't go that you don't come too !! rips my heart out! wow!!!
If I read it right, this song charted at #40, which is hard to believe. This is my favorite song of Aaron's and one of my favorite country songs in general. This is a good'en
I lived this song. Someone way back then decided I was not for them. Broke my heart. I left Northern Idaho, drove down to New Mexico, back through California, Oregon and Washington. Was still heartbroken. Now, 25 years later? I've moved on, but Wayne will always be the only one. I'm 53 now, been married once. I've never forgotten my one. I'm not his one, but he once was mine.
GirlsWith Guitars I have been performing his songs for years. He puts such heart and feeling into his songs. And in my opinion thats what country music is all about. God bless you and good luck in all you do. Keep Kickin it "Country Style"
Thanx William, I think he's as country as it gets too. He don't get much airplay these days, seems its all about the cookie cutter music now...IMHO, the country music today is not country! You keep up the country too. :)
I've got Aaron Tippons c.d. from years ago. 20 + years. Always, it reminds me of someone from then. This song though, it came at a perfect/fucked up time. I lost someone. Man, I just got in my car and went. For a long, long time, I think I was just gone. My family thinks they recall this time better than I do. They'd be very fucking wrong. I recall every heart breaking moment. Somethings you don't forget.
I was a young man walking down the aisle to my new Bride...Now Im an older man with 3 grown kids, grandkids, and a widower. Yea Time flies that fast. And Im just 52
EVERYTHING was better back then. The music, the hair, the cars. The leaders and old men were World War 2 vets who loved the country. American is gone and I am sad to say it isn't ever coming back.
+Remembering 1992 America will come back, but only if we elect Donald Trump to the presidency since he has the business expertise to get America out of the financial mess it is in.
William Duke He's got my vote. But I am less optimistic. We now have socialized healthcare and same-sex "marriage." The newer generation has been brainwashed by communist / socialist / secular-progressive teachers and Hollywood. Our nation is a dead corpse, rotten and crawling with maggots on the inside. We are a nation of degenerate, perverted idiots, 18.4 TRILLION dollars in debt. We need MEN like Washington, Revere and Jefferson to stand up and be counted, right in the face of pigs and slime like Obama and Sanders!
My son,and namesake, and 18yrs.my junior, loved and shared the emotion's that came from this underrated song.I lost his mother back in the mid 90's,and he was going through divorce. And then I lost him to a heroin overdose last year.He had been out of rehab for one day....I would like to dedicate this song to him.R.I.P. little Jimmy. You are not forgotten, for I miss you very, very much.Kentucky rain keeps pouring down.
How could anyone dislike this song or any of Aaron's songs or videos, He's a VERY nice guy I had a chance to meet him years ago and to this day I'm a huge fan of his and always will be that way...
I remember this song so well. when it was released I was a bartender in Houston and had just broke up with the woman that I was sure was my future, I wanted to just get away, and I heard this song and wondered just " How far it is over you".. I played this song time after time after closing time. I never left and she never came back but as painful as it was at the time I survived, now, I just love the song. It brings back memories that we created and how I made a mess of things, Old songs are very good learning tools.
I followed Aaron any chance I can get. Met him in my hometown of Tulare CA. A gazillion concerts later, I then met Thea before they married. Handsome Beautiful Couple! I even had a chance to workout with him! Wish he’d come back around when all this virus is gone.
I WAS AT BREAKFAST WITH MY WIFE SINGING THIS SONG ON THE WAY HOME HOWS THIS I JUST BOUGHT HIS CDTHANKS TUBE SHE HERD THE GREATEST COUNTRY VIOCE OF ALL TIME

It took 28 years for me to find the women I wanted to marry .we been married now 8years and separated for 6 I still love her as much as I did when we got married but she filed for divorce ...like Aaron s song I wonder how far I'll have to go to let go of her .... even how long it will take to get over her she was my best friend and my everything but I guess I'll know sooner or later if it doesn't kill me first
I'm not into tall lanky men but Lordy Lordy Aaron Tippon is sure nice to gaze upon. Hubba Hubba!! With a beautiful soothing voice. He sure does sooth my soul for whatever is ailing me. Makes me say thank God for men haha

Took my two-year old son to an Aaron Tippin concert in Myrtle Beach in the 80's. He sang along even though he didn't know the words. Fabulous concert!

getlowchevy84 true it's a great song seems like I've lived it
I met him at Willie Nelsons NightLife when he first started out. I paid $5 to see his show. He signed his first CD and was very gracious. Great guy.
What a body - a very handsome man. Plus - he is so talented. Miss the men of the 1990s - This is a very good song. Lots of emotion. Love you Aaron.
