My boyfriend and I just signed our lease in Lakeview! We are moving in March and we are so excited because we got a place with a lake and city view.

I think it would really help your viewers if you showed a map that highlights each neighborhood as you start to talk about it, as well as mentioning its approximate street boundaries. Been here 26 years and still can't figure out the difference between River West and West Town lol

Def great areas to move into if you're renting/buying condos or apartments, but MAN is the single family house market crazy rn otherwise. Sellers are all selling AS IS on the regular, which is crazy!

... The truth is, it depends on your background (upbringing, ethnicity, personality, economic status, etc.)
Although Chicago is arguably the greatest city in America, folks need to understand it is probably the most segregated city in America.
I have lived all over the world (including "The South"), but I have never seen anything like city. Literally, there are only a hand full of diverse neighborhoods.
I would recommend doing way more research than simply listening to youtubers.
The best way to select a neighborhoods in Chicago, is to experience the environment for yourself e.g., walk the streets, observe, interact with the community.

There are a lot of great neighborhoods. As Vigor said below, Lakeview is a great option. I personally moved to Lincoln Park when I first moved to Chicago. It somewhat depends on your budget and what type of building you want to live it. Also whether you are wanting to purchase or rent. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the neighborhoods I referred to in this video.

Lake View, Wicker Park, West Town are all def recommendations, I lived in WP for a bit. Really perfect for 20-30 year olds.

Wrigleyville, don’t bother looking anywhere else. Do it for 2 years then figure it out after you got it out of your system.

South Loops it's very business oriented and certain parts are great, if you don't really want a residential family neighborhood kind of feel. Just keep in mind there are also some more sketch parts than the neighborhoods listed in this video. By no means is it a highly dangerous area, but still might want to stay vigilant due to its hub status for pretty much all CTA lines. The pro is you are literally downtown and easy access to public transport anywhere you can go with Chicago's public transportation system. You'll also be close to Millenium Park for a number of big festivals.

Are these just the whiter and wealthier neighborhoods? Hyde Park is ranked 19th of the 40 coolest neighborhoods in the WORLD by Timeout Magazine (2023). Not to mention the crime in River North has skyrocketed in the last couple of years and the West Loop is priced way out of most people’s budget. This seems rather biased for some reason or another. So either your real estate business doesn’t cover Hyde Park or maybe Pilsen, (also cool) or they’re too “diverse” for your RUclips channel.
