I've had a b 9 85" for 2 weeks now. I liked it but not totally impressed. My 6 year old samsung has about the same color. It does look kinda oled like. But it's in my van right now because I'm taking it back . Because just like the sony a80l 83" the sony software just acts weird with my 7.2.6 emotiva recever. So I'm going to go with a s95d or a g4 next time.
Or up to 5k or 6k nits? I mean if it goes max 3k why stop at “up to 4k”? Did you measure Steve 4k? Did Sony say it hits 4k? Don’t think so. Please stop this misinformation as it reads as marketing material that Sony wouldn’t dare to produce

I’ve seen them explaining why this tv was made because of new Sony mastering tv that hits 4000 nits and new higher mastered content bound to happen - but never saying explicitly it does 4000 nits also. Loads of people made this assumption based on how they presented it. You won’t find that anywhere written on a product page. Independent reviewers measurements confirm under 3k. But if Sony rep told you explicitly that - then shame on them for misinforming you. Perhaps it’s simply poorly trained rep confused by Sony’s own marketing. Probably It’s grasping straws on my side - as 3 vs 4k might be not that much of a difference but it does have a different ring to it especially if we talking about new mastering tv.
This is why i’m thinking about making videos more content friendly for everyone even the non techie , i don’t have $10,000 testers and what for. People just want to know if it’s good or not at the end of the day. These spec wars are getting out of hand. Remind me of the apple/ android thing. @@TechSteve OK if you want to do that it’s not too bad but you can always get a Sony Bravia seven or the X 90 L and pay around $1300 for the X 90 L or $1700 for the Bravia 7 Granted it’s not going to have all the bells and whistles of the Brav and nine but with those two models I could just pay upfront cash and not have to worry about any payments if I get the Bravia 9, i would need to make monthly payments

Being a tech guy, i do good to hang on to anything 3-5 years. I wish i could be patient like that, to wait years to buy or upgrade with cash. If i thought that way, i probably wouldn’t be doing videos, new everything is part of my process. Next week i can make a video, today we have a 1985 tv that i found at a yard sell. Jk 🤣
