- “Hiking in San Diego is beautiful,” says Cal Fire Captain Tom Paranio “Some are easy, some are more expert. But I really feel this could have been avoided.”
don't go alone i stopped going to the track alone and i miss going but nowadays you need someone with you
if you're a woman then yes or with a dog
Heartbreaking story.
I still don't get how one just slips and dies on a trail in Mission Trails...
Simply by going OFF the trail 🤦🏽♂️
I saw 3 large creatures in the park a few years ago. They were absolutely not bears. There's something that or city officials and park crew aren't sharing to the public.
That attitude is part of what gets people into these situations: It's just mission trails, it's not that close to the edge..... When people downplay or underestimate the situation they are about to put themselves in that is when they run into probloms.
The dad thinks he slipped in the rocks crossing the small body of water and that he hit his head in the fall.
You guys are all guts and glory.. Based on his location they believe he unfortunately slipped and hit his head on a rock. He essentially drowned in like 1 foot of water.. It wasn't due to adventure seeking. It's fkin Mission Trails.. He didnt' fall off a cliff or rock.. There's no raging torrent of water..
Alone or not, what could anyone do to help someone trying to cross a river?
No information on what he did or didn't do. RUclips never does any follow-up on these kind of "teaser posts", so we will never know.
Sounds like he had a concussion and hit his head and that caused him to die. If someone was there to turn him over or to keep his head out of the water he would of been alive.
I came here few times a month, I thought about that too, I was there on that day
The only ' Waterfalls ' I know of in Mission Trails is at the Padre Damn. Just Where was his body Found ? What was it close to ? They haven't said where it was found .
while I do NOT know where the body was found, my first thought on hearing the news was maybe he tried to cross the SD River where it meets the Visitor Center Loop -- can park at Mission Gorge Rd at Jackson Dr, go north on Visitor Center Loop to where the river is -- I would not try to cross the river there during a rainstorm
This was definitely at the river crossing near the visitor center. I saw another news video where it showed a pic of his brother sitting in the middle of the river crossing mourning.
it also helps to have a map of the trails
No don’t put a bridge. Supply visitors to wear helmet, knee, elbow, chest, wrist pads and a life jacket to to cross it safely. geez.
water crossing when its raining hard..hmmmm i bet he got swept away and decided to fight it and burned all his energy and panic.... always go with the flow and swim with it and go diagonally with the flow to shore.. just like rp currents on beach people fight it and drown, when you can just let it sweep you away and then swim away from it once you not getting sucked around anymore...
We would love too but California makes it Almost impossible to conceal carry a weapon
Yeah, you’re not welcome here with a concealed weapon.
Unless you are law enforcement.
Why are you talking about bringing weapons, he wasn't murdered.
@@ohlalamuah5832 that we know of.
Kirsten- guns don’t have to do anything with the hiker but. If you look at history every politician who took guns away from their citizens was for complete control. Hitler, Stalin, Castro, Venezuela’s leader, Philippines leader. Look up active self protection. Especially for a woman.
