Unbelievably enchanting young lady! I am a grown, (read old) man and was a bit embarrassed by my feelings about a 9 year old, yes a little older now, but only nine when I first watched her. She has rediscovered opera and classical music for me!

tonight I saw the movie-- "As It Is In Heaven" In Swedish with english sub titles. Now I understand the song and appreciate even more than I thought was possible. I never thought anyone could pull up a feeling like that and I am 85 and thought I had heard it all. But that's Amira for you, She never fails to make you raise your eyebrows. My reaction is invariably "Well, she's done it again now I can sleep happily peacefully.
Amira has arrived she is not just the greatest living soprano she is the greatest soprano of all time we the public are so very lucky that this is happening while we are alive to hear it. I am 70 and I have never heard a soprano like her.

When I heard her singing, I cannot listen to other so called “soprano or orchestra singers. Her voice dwarfs everyone else.
When she won the talent show everybody was "wow that's great for a 9 year old". They aren't mentioning her age anymore, she's just great. WOW.
Between the tears and the blowing of my nose, the more I watch and listen to Amira, the more rolls of paper towels I go through. She is something else. She has the voice of an angel, the heart of a Mother Theresa, and the beauty of a pageant contestant. There's no doubt about it. When God made Amira, He was definitely showing off.

Hendrik de Vries that’s what I was trying to say There is something about everyone that speaks to Creation But in Amiras case it’s all the more obvious that there was an intelligent design involved. Furthermore I would say her faith in that creator has allowed for some amazing things to happen and is shaping her personality quite nicely

The voice is no longer Maria Callas, but it's now Amira, all to the better. Beautiful, expressive, with power to make one take notice.
That's a bold statement as my knowledge about operatic sopranos is basic. Though to a degree I can go with it, but at this moment, Maria is still the greatest for now. (One does not know how much Amira will develop in the future.
Yes, she has a beautiful voice, but Maria Callas could act and sing at the same time... people fail to recognise this distinction, when focussing on the voice alone. Check out Kiri Te Kanawa, "Pippa" von Stade and Cortrubas in the Marriage of Figaro three amazing voices in their element as provided by Mozart. Modern sound systems help performers. It is hard to compare across generations.

Our Amira!! Her commanding stage presence, talent with her stunning voice (I'm almost 67 and never heard anyone to surpass her), beauty and an equally beautiful personality. That curtsy, smile and waving after EVERY performance. How can anybody NOT LOVE HER? I just keep coming back to her time and time again. One commenter says she's a glitch in the matrix. I definitely agree! May God continue to watch over her and keep her safe. WE ALL NEED HER!!

What more can one say, she's simply a darling in so many wonderful ways. It's like watching a beautiful flower slowly awaken. And after all these years she still remains true to her inner self, and isn't it always such a special treat to see that childlike wave which is always accompanied by that beautiful and never ending smile that draws us towards her, and keeps us spellbound. And the love, you can still hear and feel it in her voice. It's hard to believe that eight years has gone by since her first public performance in the park on Queens day. She's still holding back though while her voice develops in a more natural way. It's almost as though she were teasing us, but I have no doubt that the best is yet to come, she's just saving it for us. I can't help it, but I'm still teary.
By holding back, I don't think Amira is holding back in magnificently and powerfully singing songs like this. It seems to pertain to what Amira said in a recent magazine interview: "I can't sing the same kind of songs forever. There comes a time when I have to start singing the more difficult opera arias, with all these coloraturas and difficult parts." We do wait to hear, as you say, for the best that is yet to come, that she is just saving for us. I think the video clips of her "O Mio Babbino Caro" performance at the Il Divo pre-concert and the video of her "Barcelona" duet with Ruhan du Toit, available on this Gsacni channel, provide us with a glimpse of what lies ahead.
She usually brings me to tears which i willingly let flow. This performance is absolutely - i can't find the right word here, i am simply awestruck!

Yes Mike - just listened to this again - and, WOW - it moves you - not Nessun Dorma or Nella Fantasia but this has grown on me and I was actually there at CIG 2018 - a year ago - when I experienced Amira LIVE for the first time - she draws you back over and over again....how many can do that!

I read everyone's concern in comparing Amira's talent with other lyric singers, my conclusion in this useless effort of many is that even though Amira is not the most technical and qualified lyric singer in the world, as some critics suggest, she is the only one I I would pay a ticket to watch, the first one I look for on the internet when I feel the need for peace and reflection, and this is what matters to me, the rest are fragile, empty analyzes and in my opinion useless ...

I have listened to the others for one song only but could tell they were not in the same league as Amira, her gift transcends our understanding. No matter what you taste is in music, whenever you heat something that is amazing, you cannot ignore it. Since finding Amira, l listen to her every day and everyday l cry so beautiful is her singing.
