I find it impressive when teenagers and adults people can do that, but she is doing it since she was 7-8 years old..... No words for that.

This was at Lexus Classics 2018 in Pretoria, South Africa. A show that has been an annual highlight since 2016, featuring vocalists, band, orchestra, choir, dancers and variety acts. The Vox Collective, which I'm a part of, was the choir with her on stage with this one. She has remarkable talent! She started off by singing Italian opera songs, though she didn't know the language. Her brother helped her with the translation and pronunciation. She wouldn't sing it without learning it because she wants to hit the emphasis in the right places. Glad you approve of it. I think it's magical and I don't know Swedish, but I have heard an English rendition.
I think that Amira learns each song phonetically - probably with the translation inserted as she practices. She obviously has a sensitive and sympathetic ear for all music. Let's hope she will always share her incredible musical talent with the world. Also Amira has unusual poise and confidence - even when she was only nine and sang on Holland's Got Talent.

Right from the very beginning of her journey at age 7 Amira has not only been learning the lyrics of the songs but more importantly what the stories try to convey so that she can fill the songs full of passion without which, she knows the songs would remain empty. She doesn't just sing the song but gets right inside the story and lives it. She becomes the characters themselves which is the way it should be and this is what moves many people to tears.
If you don't know, she did win the 2013 Holland got talent when she was 9 and you can see her start of becoming to be known and loved around parts of the world. Look up the youtube videos on Holland got talent 2013 and be amazed all over again.

Amira is like a powerful magnet - once there never leave. Her lower tones here are beautifully resonant every note throughout her range like a tuning fork. I can see her range extending now to the point where I cannot think of anyone who can exceed her higher notes ?? But she is still holding back and I believe in the next year or so when she lets loose we will only then start to realise what her capabilities actually are with her range extending to Mezzo keeping her high soprano.
Amira tought herself to sing by singing along with opera arias on RUclips. She has an amazing ear for sounds and also perfect pitch. She probably did the same with this song, and as you heard, did the usual amazing result.

Amira is gifted with an outstanding singing voice and with it an absolute hearing. Most likely she doesn't speak any Swedish, but she has the talent to reproduce everything she hears. That was obvious at Holland Got Talent when she performed an opera song as a 9 yo, and learned it just by singing along with youtube videos without any singing lessons.

Although Amira has millions of followers worldwide she not yet a household name , which by the way is ok. Amira is young and her performances are limited for a good reason. She is a child and she wants to have a normal childhood . But I will tell you that in my opinion and that of many others she is the best young soprano on the planet.Now you asked did she know what she was singing in Swedish the answer is yes. She was taught early on to know what she is singing about and the story of the song so she will insert the proper drama in the song.You witnessed that. Now can she have a normal conversation with you in Swedish probably not. But she might Amira is a genius and sings songs in about ten different languages. She sings opera and crossovers with an operatic influence. Her voice , tone , range and control is amazing. You just witnessed the most amazing young talent on this planet. It is just a matter of time before she is a household name worldwide. Also you mentioned Amira is angelic. A higher being sent Amira to us to hear what heaven sounds like. I would say maybe less than 1% no who she is or even had ever listened to one song of this gift from heaven. But is is only a matter of time so for now I and many others like you get to enjoy her as our personal treasure.

I think you would also love her duet with the Dutch tenor Ben Heijnen: "O solo mio". At the time Amira was 12 years, and this tenor (a very popular tenor in the Netherlands with a good sence of humor) pushed Amira by surprise to her vocal limits at the time. And for sure, they both loved every second of it. It is really fun to watch: Amira does not give away here and you can see the admiration from all the other musicians for Amira.
Her father is from the Netherlands (Dutch) and mother from South Africa (Afrikaans). I have seen Amira speak English. Several visits to Germany and she did not speak German. I think she learned that Swedish phonetically like other opera singers learn to sing in Italian, French or German. I am glad she did not lose her singing ability as she grew older. It appears you are far more familiar with the nuances of distinction between her various performances of the songs currently in her repertoire than I am, so I will defer to your superior assessment. I must be thinking of one of her other recent performances of a different piece, where perhaps she ventured a little further into the sonic stratosphere than she chooses to do here, perhaps choosing here to limit the potential wear and tear on her presumably still developing vocal chords, also perhaps on advice of her vocal coaches, as has been discussed many times. But either way, both she and the performance are spectacular, here, no doubt about it. :-) :-)

Amira is Dutch but now lives in South Africa. She is 14 and 5 years ago won Hollands Got Talent. Her fans, like me, and a number of professional opera singers think she has the finest tone in the world. She taught herself to sing by watching You Tube. She is friends to Alma Deutscher. If you get a chance watch her sing Amazing Grace and Your Love which is the lyric version of the theme from the Charlie Bronson, Henry Fonda & Claudia Cardinale film "Once Upon A Time In The West" music by Ennio Morricone. One last thing she donates large amounts to the charity she created that builds playgrounds for the children of the poorest townships in South Africa called Gellukskinder.
I am not sure how many languages she speaks but she certainly can carry on a conversation in at least 4 languages, Italian, German, English and Africaan as well of course her own language Dutch. On top of that she is a brilliant athlete and has won many junior titles.

I never tire of hearing Amira sing this Swedish masterpiece. And I love your emotional reactions to her Swedish diction and her powerful voice at only 14!!!
Right from the very beginning of her journey at age 7 Amira has not only been learning the lyrics of the songs but more importantly what the stories try to convey so that she can fill the songs full of passion without which, she knows the songs would remain empty. She doesn't just sing the song but gets right inside the story and lives it. She becomes the characters themselves which is the way it should be and this is what moves many people to tears.
If you don't know, she did win the 2013 Holland got talent when she was 9 and you can see her start of becoming to be known and loved around parts of the world. Look up the youtube videos on Holland got talent 2013 and be amazed all over again.

Amira is like a powerful magnet - once there never leave. Her lower tones here are beautifully resonant every note throughout her range like a tuning fork. I can see her range extending now to the point where I cannot think of anyone who can exceed her higher notes ?? But she is still holding back and I believe in the next year or so when she lets loose we will only then start to realise what her capabilities actually are with her range extending to Mezzo keeping her high soprano.

Amira is gifted with an outstanding singing voice and with it an absolute hearing. Most likely she doesn't speak any Swedish, but she has the talent to reproduce everything she hears. That was obvious at Holland Got Talent when she performed an opera song as a 9 yo, and learned it just by singing along with youtube videos without any singing lessons.

Petra this is one of the best reactions to Amira's performances I have seen. Obviously. you know very little about Amira . Although Amira has millions of followers worldwide she not yet a household name , which by the way is ok. Amira is young and her performances are limited for a good reason. She is a child and she wants to have a normal childhood . But I will tell you that in my opinion and that of many others she is the best young soprano on the planet.Now you asked did she know what she was singing in Swedish the answer is yes. She was taught early on to know what she is singing about and the story of the song so she will insert the proper drama in the song.You witnessed that. Now can she have a normal conversation with you in Swedish probably not. But she might Amira is a genius and sings songs in about ten different languages. She sings opera and crossovers with an operatic influence. Her voice , tone , range and control is amazing. You just witnessed the most amazing young talent on this planet. It is just a matter of time before she is a household name worldwide. Also you mentioned Amira is angelic. A higher being sent Amira to us to hear what heaven sounds like. I would say maybe less than 1% no who she is or even had ever listened to one song of this gift from heaven. I'm so glad you found Amira Petra. She is amazing and there is so much content you can react to out there.
I think you would also love her duet with the Dutch tenor Ben Heijnen: "O solo mio". At the time Amira was 12 years, and this tenor (a very popular tenor in the Netherlands with a good sence of humor) pushed Amira by surprise to her vocal limits at the time. And for sure, they both loved every second of it. It is really fun to watch: Amira does not give away here and you can see the admiration from all the other musicians for Amira.
Jaap Filius, that was a mind blowing performance by Amira. She clearly held her own against a fully trained adult male opera singer. Amazing.
Her father is from the Netherlands (Dutch) and mother from South Africa (Afrikaans). I have seen Amira speak English. Several visits to Germany and she did not speak German. I think she learned that Swedish phonetically like other opera singers learn to sing in Italian, French or German. I am glad she did not lose her singing ability as she grew older. It appears you are far more familiar with the nuances of distinction between her various performances of the songs currently in her repertoire than I am, so I will defer to your superior assessment. I must be thinking of one of her other recent performances of a different piece, where perhaps she ventured a little further into the sonic stratosphere than she chooses to do here, perhaps choosing here to limit the potential wear and tear on her presumably still developing vocal chords, also perhaps on advice of her vocal coaches, as has been discussed many times. But either way, both she and the performance are spectacular, here, no doubt about it. :-) :-)

I discover Amira only during lockdown. Thank you Amira dear. My mother was a soprano too. I belonged to alto group during my audition in the first glee club in college
Amira is Dutch but now lives in South Africa. She is 14 and 5 years ago won Hollands Got Talent. Her fans, like me, and a number of professional opera singers think she has the finest tone in the world. She taught herself to sing by watching You Tube. She is friends to Alma Deutscher. If you get a chance watch her sing Amazing Grace and Your Love which is the lyric version of the theme from the Charlie Bronson, Henry Fonda & Claudia Cardinale film "Once Upon A Time In The West" music by Ennio Morricone.
One last thing she donates large amounts to the charity she created that builds playgrounds for the children of the poorest townships in South Africa called Gellukskinder.
I am not sure how many languages she speaks but she certainly can carry on a conversation in at least 4 languages, Italian, German, English and Africaan as well of course her own language Dutch. On top of that she is a brilliant athlete and has won many junior titles.
