This place is awesome. For the people who are saying that it's too much to clean you're forgetting that of someone has the money to purchase this property they'll have money to hire professional services for that. If your taste is more "modern " or open then you'd probably not look at this place to begin with.
Lived for a year there, by the border of Tennessee & North Carolina. Majestic landscape; and this place does have some exceptional view of endless mountains. The decoration is an extreme "acquired taste," as some people have said. But this property 1/2 of the view of that $19M, 10 acre property of a much larger, grandeur lodge in Lake Tahoe's skying area. For a price of $30M, in the Carolinas, I would have thought the place came with, say, 100 to 200 acres of prime hunting land...
Well, if you've got $30million for one house, than I'm sure they could find enough change in their cushions to pay cleaning staff. Plus all rich people have staff. You think they clean their own house, Not only do they have cleaning staff, but gardeners, and assistants. nannies, etc. This wold be a fun house for kids, the Jurassic Park house, but yeah, I would not want to live in it.
@@mr.doctorcaptain1124 It's just my personal opinion, of course, but I find it a bit over-the-top mountain kitsch. I love the site, the gardens are magnificent, and the exterior architecture is pretty nice, as well. The interior finishes and decor are the elements I don't care for, primarily. No offense meant to anyone.
Tormite would loving this house from top to bottom 🤙, it's beautiful home but it's too woody woody for me.. would be nice was mix it with a stone like limestone an marbles would be beautiful more and light up the place, I know still in market and price went down to 17 mil but they're going to having a hard time to selling this even for the 15m, No one paying that much of millions for Woody woodpecker house, Good luck
Es una de las propiedades más hermosas , bien conceptuadas, decorada y construida, que he podido observar. Excelente explicación y excelente la presentadora. Felicidades.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The Folly is pretty cool but god almighty is the main house gaudy. It's like the only two design cues they offered the decorators and designers were Native American and ANTLERS.
Building directly on the top in the mountains is a rookie move. Frank Lloyd Wright disagrees with this because he liked to keep the natural contours of your surroundings. Build just below. Next, log homes are for secondary/short term stays and not 10k sq ft. My lake cabin has more charm and class.
He opted out of spots like this because it didn't cater to his design style. If I had a lot on top of a mountain with views all around, I wouldn't care what Frank did with his designs, I'd want the views. That's why you're in a place like this. I'd want to look out of every single window and see mountains for miles. I 100% love designs built into natural elements, but also understand why they aren't all that way.
@@zc1682 this home could still have a 200 degree views. Possible 360 degrees if you wrap the structure around the contour of the mountain. Nothing beats the design of nature. Plus your home will not stand out from a distance by not cutting off the top of the mountain. If you ever visit Mr. Wrights homes, you’ll get it. You’ll never see so much nature brought into a home by matching your surroundings. Opposed going against it. This house is cheesy on so many accounts.
@@jasenjahn you can look at the lot lines online with the listing. They could have had about 100 degree views. And on one side of that it would look at the neighbors. It sits at the top of a hill, but the lot doesn't wrap around all of that. I don't disagree with your sentiment. If you can spend $20m and get it to blend in with nature, awesome. If I have to choose between views everywhere and my house blending in with the hillside, I spend more time inside of my mountain home than outside. I'll take what I see from there. And I never said anything about the house, I was speaking on the decision to build on top instead of into. But I don't know if I'd call this house cheesy personally. Just not my taste.
Ahhh I was going to guess 25 million... almost 30 million.. I was way off.... so about .02 percent of this country can afford that place.. good luck selling that at 7% interest rates in that location?
Even if I were to win $1 billion in a lottery, I would not purchase this house. It is overkill in every respect. My relatively modest three-bedroom, three-bath home, also in Linville, has golf course and Grandfather Mountain views and suits me just fine. If by some freak chance I were to come into a lot of money, I would donate it to Samaritan's Purse and St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Too much money is indeed the root of evil.
A lot of people would say you're 3 bedroom/3 bath house with mountain views is overkill. I live in NC, I'm familiar with the area, that is a half million dollar plus house. You can't say money is the root of evil when your example just that money you don't have would be hypothetically evil if you did. You're more than fine with the money it took to get you were you are. People always try to act so righteous lol.
This house was clearly built by a Lannister. With all them dead stags all over the walls. Am I the only one that thinks it creepy to have stuffed dead animals all over the house and walls? Animal serial killer house.
I like 90% of it, but there's actually too much rustic-ness for me. It's almost too much wood, too much with every cabinet & drawer having antler handles, every chandelier having antlers, too much Native American artwork. I like that to a certain extent, but this is like overdosing on it. When I win the lottery and buy this place, I'm going to have to make some updates . . .
All the Native American artwork really sells it for me! Its an awesome property.
This is like a house from fantasy novel absolutely love it ❤
wow, the house is so beautiful at the top of a high mountain place, the view is so beautiful, I really want to live here?

One hell of a home. But there's a house not far from there that is worth at least 10 times more. It's called the Biltmore.

Tacky.
It's not sticky or trash.
Over priced maybe. Tacky? Give me some of what you're smoking
I wonder who does the dusting?
Dust bunnies of course
Not a fan of the Interior but the Exterior design and the location are absolutely stunning
Beautiful house
As another builder, the home is stunning, Great imagination, unbelievable views, who ever built it Kudos, in heaven that will be my home -Great job
It's 1 of a kind!! but... unfortunately waaayyyy too busy.
I'd redecorate! :)
The architect and interior designer laughed their asses off all the way to the bank.
Aint they got nobody who could get that damn fox off the coffee table?
Yeah, beautiful location, but the decor is definately an aquired taste.
Hard to acquire such awful taste 😂
Kinda like a luxury car specced in Dubai...the outside is amazing but you know the interior is going to be scary.

The attention to detail is mind boggling
This is a work of art. I love both the interior and exterior and out of 10 it's 100 !!!
this looks like.. a nightmarish place to clean. 95% of all that crap in the interior needs to go..

Hhahahah people or companies that can afford that place aren't worried about the cleaning staff they will be hiring...
would love to hear the story of the builder, architect, designer... what a conception!
Money can't buy taste.
What do you mean? I really like the interior and exterior architecture quite a bit. Can you make some examples of features you don’t like?

Very nice but I don't smell salt in the air. May I visit?
Nice woods deanna souders
Spectacular!
I'd keep most of it the way it is but all the antlers and stuff, this ain't Montana.
Zillow link?
House vampire😮
So it's not a quick drive to the store from there ? Like when you run out of toilet paper or need more beer ?
That's a teardown.
That's crazy. I totally disagree
Wow! What….a….DREAM!!!!!

Incredible property for wedding venues!

I don't understand building a custom home to this scale and then selling...Why?
The owner died
No, thank you.
I want the house
Cecil left to me.
Now.
Sold for $14 million on Oct 7th. Half the original asking price. Too many antlers in the house for my taste.
For that kind of money you can have 3 castles in Europe and never work again. Trust me, I have a house in the US and in france, and retired at 45.
But it’s France

It's on the market for a long time for a good reason. Great location, but the interior design is way too special.
mauntainssss...
Definitely not gonna sell for 30 mill.
🛎
Good luck with that….
I would not be happy in this house too much woodwork and dark tones the outside however is beautifull

Multi million $$ house on 5 acres is a joke. House like that should be on 644 acres/ mile square. Rich city people trying to show off.
You'd want at least a 100k square foot mansion with that much land
@84jamesp and a couple small cottages for extra guests, such as the in-laws . Also a barn for my pet steers, lambs, couple chickens etc.
They r mostly old architecture . They get rich on their own
O. MY GOD. THIS. IS. BRELINT
No lake boring
Nice to see or visit, but not my style

Linville Land Harbor?
Individual choice is what this country is all about. FYI, I knew the guy who built this home and he gave millions to charity.
Then don't buy it .

A house like that should be wood burning!
