    Prob the best group I’ve seen on the little silhouette target at 42 yds with this gun…outstanding! Hail to repeated trips year after year to the rifle range. Semper Fi brother!

    Great shooting man. I took my g-magnum out to 100m(109yards) and i got about a 3inch grouping on a steel gong.it was a bit windy so i held about a mil for wind but i was very impressed with the rifle's capability. I use h&n barracuda 18 pellets. Greetings from South Africa.

    Hey Shane, I just found your channel. I’ve enjoyed your wisdom on the web for the last 20yrs, so I’m delighted to see your new channel. I subbed before the video even started.

      Hope you get some useful info or just enjoyment from the channel. I started a couple years back, just sharing stuff I'm interested in. I'm not trying to get too fancy with it. In the past I've got a lot of useful info on bows and airguns, so I figured I'd try to put some info out there for others as well.

      The gun will do it, but it took me some time and patience to learn the hold that would deliver the consistency. Not too tight, not too loose. Thanks for watching, and enjoy your new air rifle!

      @@shanepitzer4126 I have some 3000-4000 dollar Field Target PCP's...that I might sell...haha...as I have just really gotten into break-barrel air rifles. Perhaps it's because as a boy in the 60-70s I had some Daisy and Crosman guns..but also some Weihrauch and Feinwerkbau guns too...I was obsessed with guns and airguns in England from about 7-8 years old. I like that it takes work....isn't that how we truly learn. 🙂

      Thanks Joe! Shooting these break-barrel air rifles is reall a lot of learning the technique that will allow the rife to perform. There is a lot of 'monkey motion' that goes on inside the gun when that piston slams forward. Learning how to let that happen consistently is the key. Thanks for watching brother, Shane

    Part of the fun in dialing this air guns in and finding the magic combo. May take some pellets to lead in that barrel and get it broke in. Looks like your on your way. With the crazy winter we've had it should be a great ground squirrel season.

      Thanks Scott! I haven't quit archery. Wife gifted me a Black Hunter recurve for my b-day. Actually it's the Galaxy Ember (Lancaster Archery's version). I need to do a vid on it. one of these days. Yeah, the break-barrel airguns can be tricky sometimes. This Gamo of mine just like to be held gently, not too tight, and it shoots well. Have a great day!

    What kind of hold was you using to tighten up your groups?

    • @shanepitzer4126
      @shanepitzer4126  Год назад +1

      Austin, When I shot this vid, I was on a portable shooting bench. I had a front bag, with my hand on the bag, and the forearm resting on my hand, my thumb was indexed on the front stock screw. I wasn't gripping the fore end, just resting the gun on my hand. I had what I would consider a medium grip with my shooting hand, not too tight, and the butt of the rifle with medium pressure into my shoulder. Not too tight, not too loose. I need to do some more work with the magnum and see if there is a more consistent method, but this kinda works. Shane

    Like that B mod target . should have challenged yourself and fire down range on some dog targets .lol BUT Excellent grouping. no Maggies. Just ordered mine. They dont have many ranges outhere in So Cal. so gotta keep my Skill set up with this. If i was under pulling targets down the goups would have been so close id sent it back up with just one peg with a cardboard circle. ( Only MArines will understand being on that side of the target AKA the dug out.) .semper fi!

    FROM MY RESEARCH
    Hatsan Mod 125 Spring Combo Spring Piston Air Rifle .25 Caliber $200 Amazon
    Max Velocity- Lead-Free- 900 FPS, Lead- 850 FPS; Max Energy- 34 FPE
    That would be 150 (ish) fps faster than this Gamo .25 cal air rifle
    YOUR RIFLE AVERAGES 700 FPS
    Would you agree with my research results...
    You mentioned Hatsan .25 being faster my research came up the same
    Looking to purchase either one leaning towards Hatsan
    Any thoughts appreciated
    TY for the review

    • @shanepitzer4126
      @shanepitzer4126  Год назад

      I do believe the Hatsan 125 will put out more power, especially in 25 caliber. I have a Hatsan 125 in 22 cal, had another in 25 cal. Sold the 25 cal. At my local elevation of 4000 ft, the Hatsan 125 Sniper QE made 690 fps with JSB 25.4gr, and 610 fps with the JSB 33.9gr. My Hatsan 125 in 22 cal does get more speed/power than this Gamo Magnum. Roughly 30-60 fps more depending on pellet weight, and 3-4 more ft-lbs.

      Lamar, Here are some chronograph results. I'm at 4000 ft elevation, so that thinner air is robbing some power,
      Crosman 14.3gr - 850 fps/23 ft-lbs
      Hades 15.89gr - 775 fps/21 ft-lbs
      JSB 18.13gr - 775 fps - 24 ft-lbs
