    Certainly less noise out of the gate of the FX3 but that is to be expected with the inbuilt noise reduction. Dynamic range is also effecting the BMPCC4K, but wow, for the price the BMPCC4K shoots way above its weight limit.

    Interesting watch but I feel the Pocket 4K is not properly exposed especially the white looks off to me. What I keep seeing from your comparison videos is that the Pocket 4K still holds so strong against most of these new cameras especially from Sony. Thanks for the videos.

      insane how a $1k camera is 90% of a $4k camera and if you grade it heavily, having graded both extensively..the p4k have way more richer tones. You can get the result with the Sony too but its some extra nodes in davinci and you better not mess up white balance and exposure with sony as its a pain to recover things as it should. Also sony is desaturating the greens a lot and you always have to push it back in pos to feel natural :/ maybe they did that because they are known to have green patches in dark skin tones and that ruined a lot of shots.

    The only this is the highlights of the Pocket 4k are darker outside than the outside of the FX3 which makes me believe the Pocket 4k is slightly underexposed.
    To get the full dynamic range of the Pocket 4k you will need to clip the highlights by 1 stop click the highlight recovering in Resolve.
    I was excited about this test, but it doesn’t look like you did it correctly.
    The paint on the wall is darker with the Pocket 4k as well as the light peeping through the tree which means you have more room to play with.
    That little bit of exposure would’ve lifted the shadows on the inside and change the results completely.

      @OwoyemiMichael 2 года назад +3

      I totally agree and I'm wondering why expose the Pocket 4K @3200.... Why not try the 400 first.
      Lastly if the pocket 4K can rival this FX3 this way, BMD did something magnificent that I'm super proud of. Both shots looks good by the way.

      @@OwoyemiMichael same thought too! Also knowing how iso affect dynamic range in p4k helps a lot! the 2nd native iso have way more dynamic range in the shadow < so over 1000 > I just think he reached a point where outside of AF, the sony is actually irrelevant for what he shoots on his channel. I actually preferred his p4k videos, it seems it made him think harder and deliver way better composition. Now its like he is going for views only by trying to stick to the latest hype.

      @@loudmotion5639 Thank you so much for your feedback Loud Motion. The P4K does an excellent color job thanks to 12-bit RAW. Unfortunately, the FX3 isn't at the same level. But it does have serious advantages and it is for these reasons that I have great pleasure in filming with it. The autofocus is super efficient, the internal stabilization does the job, the battery life is very good, the camera is small and light. The dynamic range is really good like you can see in this video. Internal noise reduction help a lot. For the FX3's colors it's not catastrophic, I'm going to learn to color grade the Slog3 little by little. I love PK4 for the color and FX3 for the form factor. I work my composition with the same desire, have a great day Loud Motion :) !!

      @@ChrisFilmmaker Yes indeed, if the fx30 was affordable in my country, i would have got one myself as i love s35 but its super expensive here! like 3k+ usd lol. fx3 is like 5.5k usd I actually got an s5 when they were on sale from b&h (i use only manual/cine lens so af is not something i need for now) and same reasons as you, its more practical to use and colors are 90% far from the p6k. So i keep the pocket just for well paid jobs and interviews as the audio pre-amps are so good :) but run n gun s5 cuts it. I got friends shooting on Sony and some happen to send me some footage to grade, its definitely more work to get good footage on the sonys but not impossible. I hope they manage to send you an s5 ii for review, that is something that people would be super interested to see Panasonic pdaf vs sony flagship fx3 :)

    Très intéressant, Chris. Merci pour cette comparaison encore une fois. Je dirais que cette situation place la BMPCC4k dans une position flatteuse : la scène est contrôlée, statique, on ne s'intéresse qu'à l'image. Ici, BM est à son aise, sur son terrain de jeu et le résultat est probant : les couleurs sont plus riches que sur la FX3, notamment dans les bleus et les noirs, il y a plus de variation. Est-ce la différence entre 12bit et 10bit ? Les codecs ? Aucune idée. En tous cas, ce serait faire erreur que de réduire la Sony à son image. Même étant fier utilisateur de la BMPCC4k, je pense à tous les avantages que proposent le FX3 ou FX30 par rapport aux BMPCC4 et 6, comme l'autofocus, la stabilisation, la taille, la batterie... Honnêtement, je suis prêt à ajouter la FX30 à mon arsenal mais j'ai simplement peur que l'écran soit trop petit ou le menu décevant. Quelle est ton expérience pour le moment ? Merci encore.

    • @ChrisFilmmaker

      Bonjour Adrien, merci beaucoup pour ton commentaire. Effectivement la P4K fait un excellent job niveau couleur grâce au RAW 12 bit. Malheureusement, la FX3 n'est pas au même niveau. Mais elle a effectivement de sérieux avantages et c'est pour ces raisons que j'ai beaucoup de plaisir à filmer avec. L'autofocus est ultra efficace, la stabilisation interne fait le job, la durée de vie de la batterie est très bonne, la caméra est petite et légère. L'écran est petit mais je ne trouve pas ça gênant et si tu le trouves trop petit, tu peux ajouter un moniteur de 5 pouces ça ne va pas alourdir le RIG. Niveau ergonomie des menus, je trouve que c'est bien organisé, l'interface est claire et on trouve très rapidement les fonctions de la caméras. J'ai mis du temps à me faire à la BMPCC4K (taille, batterie, écran fixe, pas de stabilisation,...) j'ai acheté beaucoup d'accessoires pour enfin en profiter. La FX3 est efficace dés la sortie de la boite et pour les couleurs de la FX3 ce n'est pas catastrophique, je vais apprendre à étalonner petite à petit le Slog3.

    In all honesty, The Pocket 4k should not have been NOT been set to 3200 ISO for this test, it gets its best Shadows Details and HDR for Shadow areas in its first stage of Sensitivity - Shoulda had both Cams set to 800 for this comparison - so there was comparable noise floors and dynamic range. Would love to see this test again with matching settings.

    • @alexisferrenbach
      @alexisferrenbach Год назад +1

      100 and 1250 are the noise floors for the bmpcc.

    • @Lumin8Productions
      @Lumin8Productions Год назад +2

      For sure.
      My point remains the same. A good camera comparison should use the comparable iso - so the dynamic range matched - otherwise the results just get skewed. Set the cameras up so they both display the same DR above and Below. Example : 6.5 stops above and 6.5 below for example would be a great, then the comparable for the alternate camera, even if it’s 6.8 over and 6.8 under, that’s a good comparison.
      The lowest iso for each gain stage is not important unless both cameras were doing this. But then that test would just show base noise levels of each sensor. Which that would only help viewers know which camera has an advantage in uncontrolled environments.

    Pourquoi utiliser la Fx3 avec un sigma 18-35 apsc ? A croire que le setup est mis en oeuvre pour mettre la BMPCC 4K en avant . Aussi la Fx3 peut output 16 bits Raw du coup niveau échantillonage des couleurs je ne pense que la bmpc pourra faire le poids.

      on voit que la FX3 est top avec un autofocus rapide et l'iso extra ouf mais ses images sont un peu vidéo comme le GH5 et nette par rapport à BMPCC 4K qui est plus cine avec son DARK et plus doux, on sent pas cette netteté, ce que j'aime le plus chez pocket aussi c'est la facilité qu'on a à transformer le fichier BRAW sur davinci resolve, on se casse pas la tête sur l'étalonnage, je ne la possède pas encore mais je compte l'acheter, j'utilise quelques de ses rush pour tester@@ChrisFilmmaker
