    Note: The 'antenna' on the right of the soldering station can be used to feed the soldering iron cable to prevent it getting tangled up on your workbench

      I also use the 'antenna' to hold the reel of solder, as I get fed up picking the roll off of the floor.

      Wybuchowy Komendant I also have exactly the same as you, which you also saw in this video, and it works like a charm for me too - but this T26D has some special quality about it which i can't quite describe but it really makes me want to investigate it further. I definitely want to try the C245 and T12 handles with it. Only time will tell which is better, or if there is no real difference between this and the KSGER, and this is something I want to explore on a follow up video - so I guess it is 'watch this space' 🙂

    I use the T3602 and the A9 both by Sugon. The A9 runs the T245 tips jest fine. I also have the normal T26 and it worked just fine also. I do like buying the original JBC tips. Once you calibrate the station , they are more consistent with temps.
    I was always amazed how you micro soldered with your T12. Maybe it will be a fun change for you to use the new system. I hope you enjoy it.

    My experience with Phonefix JBC Clone tips have been sub par. 7 out of the 10) C210 tips were manufactured really poorly. The plastic separator rings were all different sizes which blew my fuse on real JBC station. Just wanted to give you a heads up on the tips. I only purchase OSS Team clone tips and JBC gen tips from now on. eBay is great for buying used JBC tips too. Make sure if you start buying the clone tips to look closely at the distance between the gaps before inserting them in. I have 2 JBC stations and use the C115, C210, & C245. I always compare the clone tips to my originals now and check the resistance before using them.

      I'm not sure if you watched the video all the way through? I did prove pretty well that the JBC original tip worked better than the clone tip of the same type. Also in summing up I said I would only buy original JBC tips and this is also my recommendation to others

      @@LearnElectronicsRepairHey ! Sorry if I came off like a jerk or if it seemed like I didn’t pay attention to your video. I definitely did watch your video all the way through. I watch all your videos start to finish. I’m a huge fan and I’m very thankful for everything you put out. I was just stating my experience with PhoneFix’s tips in general for all of the 3 models. C115/C210/C245. They have bad quality control and I wanted to just put it out there in the comments so others would know as well. Your right original JBC tips are one of a kind when it comes to quality. They do cost a lot so I always recommend trying to find some used tips on eBay when your first starting out until your repairs pay for your tools. I was very lucky last year mid/end of the pandemic season because there was 1 seller here in the US selling NEW genuine JBC tips at a fractions of the cost. I was buying a bunch of variations of all models for about 4-7$ each in “bulk” quantities of 10 to 30 pc’s per auction. I in total was able to purchase about 200-300 tips in total span of 6 months. 95% of them are usable in most situations. Curved/Knife/Bent Conical/Wedges/ and a few others. I gave some away to a few of my coworkers that are in the same field as us. Unfortunately the seller is no longer getting them in bulk to sell anymore indefinitely as of now. I messaged him a few days ago to check on him since we had so much communication throughout the year. If he does get back into selling the tips I will make sure to let you know. It would be great to see you using the JBC style cartridges as your daily driver. I switched from the KSGER about 4 years ago and haven’t looked back.

    There are a few of these JBC clones around for that price range and Yes, I think the bigger handle with a right combination of genuine JBC tips is the way to go. Definetly an upgrade from the KSGER. Hope you enjoy it

      I'm very interested to try the T26D with the C245 handle and the original JBC version of a BC3. I also want to try it with the T12 handle as a direct comparison to the KSGER. I'll get some handles and tips but with Chinese new year it will most certainly be February before I can make a follow up video. However I will do so. 🙂

      @@LearnElectronicsRepair I am having difficulties tinning microscopically small pcb traces and pads using the KSGER clone tips. The lead solder tends to flow up the tip away from the pcb. I suspect the KSGER clones might use less copper compared to the originals which I haven't tried yet. Could you do a comparison between KSGER and Hakko to see if it is possible to tin exposed pcb traces?

    For drag soldering you need to try a special tip, that has a little cavity at the end that holds some solder with surface tension and then you drag it across the pins and the perfect amount of solder is added to the pads. Needs a bit of getting used to, but I think it would be deffinitely worth the try. Other things that I know are worth having a try are soldering tweezers (not sure thats what they're called), I mean the type of handle that holds two cartriges and and can be used to remove smd parts (and others) with a single pinch. I have acces to such a tool at work and it is just great. Recently I stumbled upon a pair of such tweezers on aliexpress that claim to be T-12 compatible and I'm really thinking about giving them a shot. Maybe you would like to test such a tool on the channel some times? Cheers from Poland.

    • @LearnElectronicsRepair
      @LearnElectronicsRepair  Год назад +3

      @maks886 Yeah I know that 'hoof' tip or BCM for the T12 I do have some of them and have tried but personally I don't really like them much. Mostly I use the BC3 for drag soldering but now I tried the bent conical one I want to experiment more with that. I don't believe the difference of opinion suggests one type is better than another, I think it is more down to the fact a lot of us develop our own techniques when it comes to soldering and desoldering

      I bought these T12 tweezers from Aliexpress (Handskit) and altough the connector is the same and fits perfectly fine, it gave me an error when attached to my KSGER. I tried re-sitting it a few times and still the same. Luckily, I bought the tweezers with the entire T12 Handskit station, so hopefully it will work together. Haven't tried it yet...

    • @maks886
      @maks886 Год назад +1

      @@rafak9177 that's a pity, I was really hoping they would work. Maybe the pi out in the connector is different. That would require some disassembly and swapping of the pins or cutting the cable and resoldering it in a different way. Do you know what the pinout of these tweezers is? Please let us know if they work good with the other station :D

  • @ianhaylock7409
    @ianhaylock7409 Год назад

    Used the C245 handle for years doing SMD rework down to 0201 components. You just need the fine tips for the handle. You'll find it much easier to remove SMD caps and resistors if you use dual soldering irons. Just add flux and heat both ends simultaneously. To fit a component just tin both pads, add flux, place the component, then heat both ends. Presto job done.

      If you are regular on the channel you will know I do a lot of micro soldering (even HDMI sockets, USB-C and suchlike) using the T12 BC3, which is the furthest thing from a fine tip I could imagine. I will certainly try more than one C245 tip, I rather liked working with the bent conical tip on this video. There will be a followup video with the T26D when I have some more handles and tips

      And as you saw in this video, I also have a KSGER T12 myself and I stand by it being an excellent soldering station. I can't quite quantify it yet but there is some quality of the T26D (or the original JBC tips which definitely worked better for me that the clone ones) that seems to set it on a level above the T12. Further investigation is needed and and I will definitely make a follow up video using the other handles and tips with this soldering station (C115, C245, T12)

      I saw a review where the gentleman was using a single generator measuring and it's not 100 MHz he said it's a hyperinflated number it's only around 30 40 MHz his opinion was to stay clear of this oscilloscope what I'm looking for is a two or four Channel but a scope at a reasonable price and a good product thanks for getting back to me...

      @@no1be4me2 Actually FNIRSI have said they would send me a 1014D to review as soon as they rebuild their stock levels. So hopefully in the fist part of 2023. I always review based on the repair point-of-view. If I stick the scope probe onto a 100MHz oscillator and it shows me a sine wave and says 100MHz on the screen then it is a 100MHz scope as far as I am concerned. This is because when doing repair work then, for the most part, you just want to know if the oscillator is running and if it is at the correct frequency, more or less. The rest is just semantics.

    Regarding the tips: It is defenently worth the money to buy original tips. I have a T12 and a T12 mini and the TS100. There is a world of difference on the tips. The cheap no names tip are just not good enough. And they do not last as long as Hako or other original tips. Originals is more expensive, but will almost last a lifetime.

      Until the review of the RGS65 ( a few videos ago) I was no great lover of the knife tip either - but being forced to use one on that review, with a bit of practice I actually found it works a lot better than I thought.
