I've gone through the entire speech of the Shaykh.
Not much in terms of istighatha. People are literally asking for direct help from ghairullah and there doesn't seem to be any proof for it. Some say that their intent is for the sahibe qabr to make dua for them while others say that the sahib e qabr will fulfill their need (with Allah's permission).
There is nothing in the Quran and the sunnah which points to asking for help in the unseen from other than Allah. The Shaykh says that we need direct proof for ibadat? I dont see anywhere in the Quran or the Sunnah that the sahaba called upon the previous Prophets and saints for help. Would have been a widespread practice if it was as necessary as our brothers make it seem. The situation is the opposite. The primary sources dont support this practice. Rather speak against it.
So it's a very clear lack of proof for istighatha. Especially when the Quran and sunnah are so abundantly explicit that help is only to be sought from Allah. Why take the risk when the matter at best is something that is permissible according to the Shaykh and not essential. From the part of the world that I come from, there is no denying that this approach has led people to commit some extremely grave mistakes.
As far as tawassul goes, I don't see any issues, clearly. It's an exaggeration from the other side. Tawassul and istighatha are not the same things.
Just my honest thoughts. And Allah knows best.

Very nice talk however the admin needs to change the title as this only talks about and clarifies tawassul and the proofs given are very strong the issue of direct calling upon Allahs servants in the barzakh for help still remains a crucial question, the number of proofs of Quraan and Sunnah which advice contrary to this practice are many.
