- What a fantastic hobby metal detecting is and what an array of finds you can get!
Often you’re left wondering how such things ended up where they did and who lost them!
Some incredible discoveries from the Georgian Manor fields!
A great day PART 2!

Nordic Industry and Art Exhibition in Copenhagen 1872. Sweet!
Famous Glasgow whistle maker, made whistles for the Titanic line, there is a small piece of wood missing out of the mouthpiece.
Dogs can hear whistles, sheep can hear zippers!!! LOL
27:13 I also did a bit of reverse image searching and found that that is a 1872 Denmark Type 1 Nordiske Indutri Kjobenhavn White Metal Medal. They are worth about 50 quid each. Nice find! (And yes, it was silver plated)
Amazing info! Thanks very much. I can see more silver on it now I’m home and it’s had a proper clean. It always amazes me the weird and wonderful things we can find in the fields of Perthshire! Thanks again for your info
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK 1872

OH and so nice of you to wait for Simon to join you.
Nicely done as usual, I enjoyed the video 🇺🇸
Great video, thank you. Stay warm and watch for the thaw!
Hi John, the writing on the sheep at 18:50 reads "PROPRIETORS BRITAINS LTD COPYRIGHT" Britians LTD still is an agricultural toy brand to this day and was established in 1893. Not quite Georgian but a good find!
Well done.
Let’s go, let’s go treasure and adventure🎉👵🌺🌎🇺🇸💕✌️
The round metal disk says KÖPENHAMN= Copenhagen in danish. It is Amalienborg, the Danish Royal Castle.
I checked to see if anyone else saw this before posting. I've been to the castle (got married in Denmark).
@@oldtop4682and of course Denmark has a new king today, who is wedded to a lady from the little island I hail from- Tasmania
Sorry, it is not Amalienborg castle, but another old building. I have a medallion almost the same and it is from an industrial and art event in Kopenhagen 1872
@@stevebutton7066 Tasmanian here too mate...Sadly little point us detecting hoping for pre George III coins 🤣

Maybe someone has already posted this but the medallion is a Copenhagen International Exposition Medal 1872.
What beautiful scenery you have there! Loving the relics today. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6. Sounds like part of your pendant. Your history lessons are so vivid. Thanks for an amazing day of detecting!
Amazing info Linda. Thanks so much for that!! See you on the next
Whistle joke actually caught me funny...even as bad of a dad joke as it was!

Danish medal from the industrial and art exhibition, it's made of Tin 🤗
Dang!!! Another video 🤍. Greetings from middle Georgia USA 🍑. Stay warm!
That medal is stunning. What a monster, huge! You sure uncover the most unexpected items. So much fun.
Would you be able to take a rubbing from the pendant to find out what is written on it John? Like we used to do as kids with leaves and at local graveyards for school xD
Medallion certainly looked Danish, with the word compensation on it. Superb find. Bless 👊
Many thanks Nick. It’s been confirmed as Copenhagen and Danish! Amazing 🥲

So many amazing finds there John, and that medal commemorative thing wow what a lump that is. Grand film and all the best 👍🏻
Nice finds
What you found John is written in Danish.
hvad udad tabes skal indad vindes translates to: what is lost outwardly must be gained inwardly. Amazing find!!! It’s an International Exposition Medal. The building is the Copenhagen Exhibition Building on the other side is a female figure in the middle flanked by two nude men.
Words of wisdom to live by as one ages!
That’s a days worth payment al year long.
Junk turning into a fantastic relic before your very eyes. 🪄🤩 Only on “The Scottish Detectorist”.
Cheers to nice land owners and new permits John.
I’m curious about how many acres of territory you’ve managed to concur by now, John the second of Scotland. 🏰⚔️🛡️😉🍀
May you thaw out soon you mighty swinger of sticks.
Many thanks Wolfie 🐺
I’m pretty luck with the permissions and in fact I’ve got permissions I haven’t even detected yet. At a stab I’d say 15,000 acres but it could be more…. And hopefully another 5,000 acres coming soon!
@@thescottishdetectorist🤩 That’s an entire empire John. Congratulations!
Lay claim! 😄👍🏴.🤴You have an army of 40.000 by now. 😄
What an epic day you had, I absolutely love the medallion what an out of the ordinary find and you clocked up a lot more to go with it let’s hope the rest of the year is just as successful.
What a great day of finds! Always fun!!
Many thanks 🤩
🇨🇦-45°C here! John, do you ever run the detector over the actual old stone walls? Beautiful finds! Stay warm by your lovely fire! 🤗
Britain's toys is an old company, they have made farm toys of one sort or another since 1893 and are still making them today though the company has been bought by one of the big companies in recent years, really good find, your medallion is Danish, the big word under the building is Copenhagen in Danish and the medallion celebrates the DENMARK 1872
Scandinavian Industry and Art Exhibition
Hi John. The writting on the danish medalion on the people side says (the right hand side) " What is lost on the outside must be won on the inside" and (the left hand side) "For every loss compensation is to be found" 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
I found this 1872 coin? on eBay for sale. Kjobenhavn is Copenhagen, Denmark! Well done, John 👍🏻
1872 Denmark Industrial Art Fair Medallion
Hi John.I am thinking of rekindling my once favourite hobby of metal detecting. I am retired now, but still a fit 73 year old😂 .My reason for writing other than thanking you for some real interesting video footage is,can you recommend a relatively inexpensive detector just for hobby use?funnily enough, the best one in the cheap range was a seascope, found some nice things, mainly victorian down here in Wales with that one any help will do John, and once again, thanks for some cracking videos from good old Scotland.
Alun,pontardulais,South Wales.
Alun you could try the Fisher F75 good little machine, works well on soil and sand.
@matthewcloke2530 thank you for your reply. I just checked out the Fisher f75 sounds very good for my needs, and the price is well within range too, might go for that one.One again, thank you
Alun swansea.
A fantastic day's digging 👌
That was a great part 2. Lots of the most interesting finds. I hope you give us an update on the large commemorative coin or medallion Cheers from Texas.
Your new camera is NICE
Wonderful finds John
That military badge is from ww2, you can thank Google for that one...great finds!
John another wonderful stroll over the countryside. I wish I had fields like that where I live in California, USA. I usually only have a chance of something the gold miners of 1849 may have lost. I live vicariously through your excellent videos. Thank you for showing us your very cool finds. That Danish medallion is great. Best regards - John
Weve found bottles and a friend found anne old weapon at the old stagecoach route outside of Banning. Old town dump sites are ok, but not for treasure.
@@juneyshu6197 I’ve found lots of bottles but I’m a coin hunter at heart. It isn’t the same as when I started back in the 1980’s. Plus, hunting sites are shrinking due to good old California limiting where you can and can’t hunt.
Hi, a bit late this time, don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, but if that first coin was dated 1901 it must be Queen Victoria, who passed away in January ,that year. If it really is "dirty Bertie" on that coin it is either worth a small fortune (unlikely) or, sorry to say, you are mistaken with the date. Love the whistle, and that medallion is superb. And you are only finding the metal losses. How much more is there underfoot not made of metal? It's all brilliant!
👍👍👍
