Hi mate, it sure is a beautiful part of the word. The weather up there can be a bit ropey but I was blessed on this day. It was so good in fact that I filmed 2 videos on that day - very productive YouTubing :) Catch you on the next one mate. G
Hi Stuart, thanks mate and thanks for watching. The conditions were awesome up there on that day. This winter detecting season has been hampered by rain, wind and poor weather. Hoping to return to this village on Sunday for another session. G
Hi mate, yeah I've found 3 or 4 of these over the years, including a Cartwheel one somewhere or other. I ended up waxing this one and it looks awesome now and is in my glass cabinet
Good video Gareth, everyone needs to dig everything once in a while. We get to complacent assuming the detector won’t lie to us. Whenever I get somewhere I can dig everything I do so. Good tip for anyone. John
Hi John, yes you are 100% right. And I am the pickiest detectorist out there, and because I don't dig the low numbers, this is why I have never found a gold ring in 10 years!! Thanks for tuning in, and I hope to see you on my next episode. G
Hi mate, my mojo comes and goes with the weather I think haha. Thanks for your kind words, I really enjoyed making this video. Hoping to return to this village on Sunday. Catch you on my next episode. G
Hi mate, thanks for the channel visit and for watching this episode. The lead coin imprint was really cool, found a few like this over the years. I think they were done of of boredom or for fun. Who knows. Thanks again. G

Some times they even made the lead look like a real-ish coin as a toy for the children as lead is shiny when its new.
Hi mate, as you can probably tell just working my way through replying to a bunch of comments. Yeah these lead imprints are super interesting and not that uncommon here in Derbyshire. I've found 5 or 6 over the years
Hi Dave, cheers mate, yes I'm trying to get out as much as I can, but time and weather is usually against me. 2023 was my best ever year for gold, and had a good amount of silver hammered's too (3 or 4 I think). I get the impression 2024 is going to be one of my worst years on record detecting wise. As my permissions dry up and my metal detecting time becomes more limited, its becoming a struggle. But I'll keep at it :)
Hi mate, thanks as always for coming along and watching this one. The lead imprint was very interesting and probably my 3rd or 4th over the years. Derbyshire folk loved lead :) Catch you on the next one. G

That was interesting bud. All that junk you dug to begin with only shows that most of the signals you would normally avoid is junk, so your ear is well tuned to the response your getting from your machine. I know that will not be always the case as we do find some good finds below dodgy signals sometimes, so we are forced to dig everything. At least finding more trash means that the ground has been cleared of the rubbish, and like you said, persistence pays off. I am sure there is another gold find just waiting beneath that stunning landscape for you to discover, will be watching with interest. Tc.
Hi mate, great to hear from you. Yes, metal detectorists are slowly cleansing the earth from the billions of pieces of metal in the ground. All that lead in the ground surely cannot be a good thing can it!! Thanks for your kind words, there has been no gold finds since May last year, but I do not care, I had more than my fair share in 2023. I would be very happy to find a gold ring though haha. I wish you luck for 2024 also. Catch you on the next one. G
Enjoyed this one Gareth as i do your other videos, interesting piece of lead with the imprint. Well done on your other coins as well. Glad you told that person to do one people think we just venture on any land to detect. Hope you and your family are well and i will see you on the next.
Hi John, thanks as always for coming along and leaving your feedback. Haha yeah that guy goin on about it been illegal to metal detect in the Peak District? What an idiot he was, some people just don't have a clue about anything

Great video, brilliant camera work, composition and filming, sometimes feels you've a small team out filming- you certainly put in the work Gareth. Paid off , love the lead coin imprint. Keep em coming mate. Hope you're ok

If I had not changed to that more productive field, then I would not have been able to make this video. This is the price I pay to grow my channel. Thanks for watching
Hi Shawn, cheers mate, although them fields were baron, I really enjoyed been up there, weather was absolutely incredible for a winters day. Hope you are well, catch you on the next one. G
A nice field with varied finds. Coins, Victorian, George II or George III. Newer Elizabeth II. Irish George III coin. Thank you for the video today. Always interesting to watch. Enjoy your week ahead, and see you on the next! Cheers Gareth! 😊

Hello, yes was a quiet day but definitely interesting. The weather was absolutely glorious, not had many days like that in recent months. Catch you on my next episode. G
Useful video for newbies as it shows the patience needed even when you are an experienced searcher. You just gotta take your time and enjoy lots of digging! Just dig it! Good to see you and the Peak District too.
Hi Andrew, thanks for the channel visit mate and for watching this one. Oh yes its definitely a hobby of patience and hard work. The Peak District is a wonderful place to metal detect and very close to home :)
Gday Gareth. Great morning out. Congrats on the lead imprint. It is a ripper find. Good haul of coins too. Thanks for taking us along on the journey. Take care mate 🦘🦘😁👍
Hi Andrew, as always thanks so much for coming along and taking time out your day to watch. With so many detecting channels it always amazes me that people choose to watch my little old channel here in Derbyshire, England. Thanks again and see you soon I hope. G
Hi Nick, thanks so much as always for your very kind words, I really appreciate it. Its Monday and I'm back in the office for another long week at work. I hope that you have a fruitful week ahead, catch you on my next episode. G
Hi Jim, thanks so much for your very kind words. I work really hard on my channel and the content I upload, so it is very nice to receive some appreciation. Most other metal detecting RUclipsrs just sling a load of clips together and press upload. Hope to see you on my next episode
That last one was interesting, it looks like someone dropped moulton lead and when cleaning up found the coin in it , just an idea . My problem is even though I lived in Tywyn for 30years I don't know that many people and finding permissions to detect is difficult but I do have a beach I have detected but I have found very little and I was told recently that there is supposed to be a big electric cable that runs the length of the beach which is probably why finding anything on the beach is difficult
Hi mate, thank you for visiting my channel and for watching this video. I believe someone created this imprint as a bit of 'fun' while smelting some lead for another reason. Keep hitting that beach, there will be gold rings on it somewhere. People always lose gold rings on beaches. In 10 years of metal detecting, I still wait to find my first gold ring. Thanks again and I hope to see you on another of my 300 other metal detecting videos. Gareth
Hi mate, yeah I totally agree. I hear people down south don't have walls like this, seems to be more of a Midlands kinda thing. I dread to think how long it took people to build all these hundreds of thousands of miles of walls. I always detect a lap of a field next to the wall. Thanks as always for watching
Helloo thanks as always for watching this one, again sorry for slow replies, I am only 2 weeks behind at the moment, I've been working hard on my replies in the last few days. Hope you are well can catch you on my next episode. G
Hi there, thanks very much for visiting my channel and for watching this video. Ha yes my harvest of coins was awesome! Hope to see you again on some of my 300 other metal detecting videos
Hi there, cheers mate and thanks so much for taking time out your day to watch. Those conditions were awesome for making a RUclips film. In fact they were so awesome I filmed 2 videos on this day. Thanks again and hope to catch you on my next episode. G
Great Hunt im wondering if the lead imprint was used to cast a forgery? But I guess the head as suggested was facing the wrong way I’m sure I’ve seen this type of find before
Hi there, thanks very much for visiting my channel and watching this video. A farthing would be a very low denomination to counterfeit, I would expect silver coins to be forged though. I have found several of these over the years, once an imprint of a Cartwheel penny. I believe they were done out of boredom and purely for fun. Hope to see you on my next episode. G
Hi there, thanks so much for visiting my channel and watching this video. Yes quite possibly, although a Farthing is a very small denomination coin, I would expect to see forgeries of silver coins. I believe this kind of impression was done by someone for fun or out of boredom just to see what happened. Who knows, history is awesome. Thanks again and hope to see you on some of my 300 other metal detecting videos. G
Another great video. Digging everything is either going to go well or your just cleaning out all the trash. Some interesting finds though. Shame there wasn't another gold coin for you that day. Im just getting ready to go and do some detecting. My lovely wife is just making me a couple of burgers to take with me. Hope you have a great weekend and thanks again for sharing your adventures with us 😊 😀
Hi mate, to be honest I didn't really do much different than I would on a normal days detecting other than dig a couple extra targets I knew would be trash. It was a way of leaning on a more enticing video title and thumbnail, and it worked haha. You might notice my thumbnails become like this as I try to invite new viewers to my channel. I got approached yesterday by someone I went to school with, brand new farm in Staffordshire, all pasture. Guess where I'm going Saturday for a George Weah all dayer haha
@TheDukesOfDerbyshire It's a great idea.. anything that can entice new viewers is good, as I'm sure they will be back. Your channel is amazing and sould be a he'll of a lot bigger than it is.. it will continue to grow. Well done on securing a new permission, you jammy git... 😀 Have a very good weekend. I hope you all the luck in the world mate. You'll probably find another gold coin or two 😉 Can't wait to see more 😀
Haha or it could end up been an absolute stinker and a waste of a 60 mile round trip! Bit if you don't buy a ticket you aint gona win the raffle!! I had a look on old maps and found a very exciting field close by. Will message you on insta n show you screenshots
Hi mate, you giys don't see my really bad days. I have a folder on my external hard drive with hundreds of clips and hundreds of finds from 'stinker' days that I was unable to make a video. One day I will use them all and make a video called "1,000 Metal Detecting Finds". Ah yeah thinking about the movie Top Gun when they inverted, they went upside down. Whoopsie
Ayup John, thanks for checking out this episode, always appreciate you coming along and reading your comments. Hope you had a good week and will be metal detecting this weekend? I got a brand new farm to go at tomorrow in Staffordshire. All pasture, can't wait. G

Hi Julia, thanks so much for watching this episode. Yes the half penny and farthing do have similar design, but different size. This area is very hard to make finds so to find any coins is always a good day. Hope to see you on my next episode. G
Cool I was 100th sub, That is a huge area to detect, I just love how big the coins are and the green color is amazing. My favorite color is green. So how many miles did you walk this day? Last find was cool with the imprint. Thanks for sharing.
Hi mate, wow 100th sub, you must have been with my channel for a long time, almost from the beginning. I've just past 15,000 subs which is awesome! I bet I would have walked at least 6 or 7 miles as I filmed this video till around lunchtime, then headed to another permission to film another video - a very productive but tiring day. Thanks as always for your support. G
Hi Paul, thanks very much for visiting my channel and watching this video. A Farthing would be a very low denomination to counterfeit, I would expect silver coins to be forged though. I have found several of these over the years, once an imprint of a Cartwheel penny. I believe they were done out of boredom and purely for fun. Hope to see you on my next episode. G
Hi Glenda, thanks so much for watching this video. I always metal detect around and under tree's. One of my best ever finds - the Georgian gold FOB seal was found under a tree, a stone throw away from a Georgian manor house. I also detect right up to walls, but never the actual walls. Thanks again and hope to see you on my next episode. G
Hi mate , i tried that the other week after a bloke on the Deus face book page said he dug a gold coin at 36 ? never found as much trash in my life with the exception of iron just ignored that , anyway at least you were rewarded with a lovely yet very strange lead find can't think what they were up to ? maybe just messing about or an accident ? still a good talking point though , nice video pal and a lovely place to spend a few hours ATB Rob .
Hi Rob, that must have been the tiniest gold coin in existence haha. My George III Third Guinea is one of the smallest gold coins out there and that was giving me a solid 62 in the ground, 4-6 inches down. I've found a few of these coin imprints in my time, always interesting, I agree that people do them purely for fun. Thanks as always for coming along. G
Hi Andy, as interesting and unique as it is, I already know my local FLO would have zero interest due to it only been 200 years old. My FLO is also a complete nightmare and its a 50 mile round trip, so I tend not to record stuff anymore. They still have my 1 and only treasure find 3 years later. The whole system is a joke. Thanks very much for watching, hope to see you on my next episode. G
Hi there, thanks so much for visiting my channel and for watching this video. My jacket is made by Montane, its a lightweight softshell 'mid layer' jacket. I got it from Go Outdoors a couple of years ago, was about £90. Here you go I found a link to the same one on Amazon: amzn.to/42sDFQE
Hi there, thanks very much for visiting my channel and watching this video. Quite a few people ask me if I detect the walls, the answer is no. I guess it would be interesting, but I am a part time detectorist with limited time on my hands, so could not justify spending my time doing that. But maybe one day :) Hope to see you again on some of my 300 other metal detecting videos. Gareth
Are Gareth allercig to rubber?! Why always pasture?? Much more in fields! Gareth is pushing it with Double Cream In the Coffee, Although a stone or two. Has vanished👍 Sadly Gunners did n't Start well in 24! A bit hope with 5-0 Win over Crystal Palace hoping for Silver in February😜🔝❤️
Hey Toni, as always thanks so much for watching. I am obsessed with metal detecting pasture fields because I know I can find amazing gold and silver coins. My experience of ploughed / arable fields is very bad. Void of signals and anything found battered by ploughs for hundreds of years. Also, these lovely hilly pasture fields make a much more pretty RUclips film haha. Apologies for the slow reply. Great result for Arsenal this week beating the mighty Liverpool !!
@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire 👍 Gunners 4 Goal. Ganz bekloppt. Understand Klopp World best trainer. Much better visuel Videos ( in Gareth style) on pasture, i agree. But it's no shame to have Rubber Allercig!
Hi there, thanks very much for visiting my channel and watching this video. I use professional video editing Software called Filmora, it was very easy to do. I simply found a photo of the coin on the internet, then removed the background to it. I then added it on top of the video clip where I wanted it. Resized it so that it was exactly the same size as the imprint, then used a fade transition to slowly fade the image of the coin over the video clip below. Sounds complex, but very easy to do. It pleases me that someone commented about this part of the video, as that was my favourite part and the first time I've done something like that. Thanks again for watching, and I hope to see you again on some of my 300 other metal detecting videos. Gareth

Thanks very much for visiting my channel and for watching this video. Any privately owned land is fair game providing you have consent from who ever owns the land. Find some fields close to where you live, then knock on the door to the closest farm or house. You can go on most UK beaches without needing permission. National Trust land is a big no no. Hope this helps
Hello great vid let me know what you find out inregards to the lead inprint ,found the same but george iii shilling imprint no idea what its for . Karl
Hi Karl, thanks for visiting my channel and for watching this video. I have found several coin imprints in lead over the years, last one I found was a Cartwheel penny I think. In what part of the country did you find yours? I believe they are done out of sheer boredom / for fun. But I am not 100%. Thanks again, and hope to see you on my next episode. G
Intro: “… fields I have never stepped foot in.” One minute later: “The last time I stepped foot in this field…” 😂😂 Absolute great video, this is what I enjoy watching! Thanks!
Haha yes, the thing was I had to pass through fields I've detected before to get to the 3 fields I've never been on. The first few minutes was making my way to those fields. I must admit when I was editing this, I felt the same as you
Haha yes you do, but they can get very annoying! I once compared the signal of a moo tube to a gold hammered, and they were exactly the same!! Unbelievable!! Thanks very much for watching. G
I don't think you know what you are talking about. THE NATIONAL TRUST do not allow metal detecting. These fields are private farmland belonging to a landowner who I have permission from. You had a good day out, the lead coin impression is interesting!❤
Another lovely upload to watch. Always enjoyable, especially with the thoughtful editing.! Appreciated bro. Bless 👊
Hi Nick, thanks so much as always for your very kind words, I really appreciate it. Its Monday and I'm back in the office for another long week at work. I hope that you have a fruitful week ahead, catch you on my next episode. G
Great Video ! Great editing , and finds !
Hi Jim, thanks so much for your very kind words. I work really hard on my channel and the content I upload, so it is very nice to receive some appreciation. Most other metal detecting RUclipsrs just sling a load of clips together and press upload. Hope to see you on my next episode
As always great video Gareth 👍 shaune in Kent
Hi Shaune, thanks as always for watching. Got a brand new farm in Staffordshire to try tomorrow, all pasture
let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
Hello thanks for commenting on my video
Gareth
The stone walls are great.
Imagine how much work they took over hundreds of years.
Great fun to watch this mate.
Awesome finds, love the imprint! Have a great weekend 🙂
Helloo thanks as always for watching this one, again sorry for slow replies, I am only 2 weeks behind at the moment, I've been working hard on my replies in the last few days. Hope you are well can catch you on my next episode. G

Gareth as always a great video sir.
Could the lead coin thing be for forging fake coins. Great video great advice
Have a very good weekend.
I hope you all the luck in the world mate.
You'll probably find another gold coin or two 😉
Can't wait to see more 😀
Haha or it could end up been an absolute stinker and a waste of a 60 mile round trip! Bit if you don't buy a ticket you aint gona win the raffle!! I had a look on old maps and found a very exciting field close by. Will message you on insta n show you screenshots
@TheDukesOfDerbyshire I'm very excited for you mate.. Good luck 👍
Loved this video for the stinker session as this is most of my time 😄.BTW you mean "reverse" (mirror) rather than "invert" (upside down)
Hi mate, you giys don't see my really bad days. Whoopsie
Good finds later on Gareth. That lead coin thingy was amazing! Cheers M8, John.
Ayup John, thanks for checking out this episode, always appreciate you coming along and reading your comments. Hope you had a good week and will be metal detecting this weekend? I got a brand new farm to go at tomorrow in Staffordshire. All pasture, can't wait. G

Great video, at first I thought I saw a halfpenny because of how similar they are with farthings. Not a lot of coins found but overall great video
i wonder if thats for making counterfits
Hi Paul, thanks very much for visiting my channel and watching this video. A Farthing would be a very low denomination to counterfeit, I would expect silver coins to be forged though. I have found several of these over the years, once an imprint of a Cartwheel penny. I believe they were done out of boredom and purely for fun. Hope to see you on my next episode. G
Please do the walls and trees . People would have spent time there😊
Hi Glenda, thanks so much for watching this video.
WOW beautiful finds well done ❤ 👏👏👏
Hi, thanks very much for visiting my channel
Mate, that George iii lead imprint is extremely interesting and deserves to be recorded. 👏
@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire the same FLO as me then !

Hi there, thanks so much for visiting my channel and for watching this video. My jacket is made by Montane, its a lightweight softshell 'mid layer' jacket. I got it from Go Outdoors a couple of years ago, was about £90. Here you go I found a link to the same one on Amazon:

Does anyone run the detector over the actual wall for things that could be in them?
Hi there, thanks very much for visiting my channel and watching this video. Quite a few people ask me if I detect the walls, the answer is no. I guess it would be interesting, but I am a part time detectorist with limited time on my hands, so could not justify spending my time doing that. But maybe one day :) Hope to see you again on some of my 300 other metal detecting videos. Gareth

Understand Klopp

Videos ( in Gareth style) on pasture, i agree.
But it's no shame to have Rubber Allercig!
Great video! How did you add the coin to the lead mould? What app did you use?
Gareth

Maybe someone wanted to make some more coins and tried to make a mould for it out of lead. Don’t know if that would work though.
Hi there, thanks so much for watching this video. That is quite possible, but a Farthing is a very low denomination coin. I have found items like this before and I always imagine people do it simply for fun. Thanks again and hope to see you on my next episode. G
Im a proper beginner. How do you find out where you can dig and where you cant?
Hello mine bury gr manchester or Lancashire!
I must admit when I was editing this, I felt the same as you
gotta dig the mootubes
Haha yes you do, but they can get very annoying! I once compared the signal of a moo tube to a gold hammered, and they were exactly the same!! Unbelievable!! Thanks very much for watching. G
The Peak District National Park does not allow metal detectors . So be careful Mr Detector.
I don't think you know what you are talking about. THE NATIONAL TRUST do not allow metal detecting. These fields are private farmland belonging to a landowner who I have permission from. Please check your facts before commenting. I have permission to metal detect here as I do everywhere else I search
