Out of all the cars you looked at today, I'd rather see the Sunbird on the channel. I've always enjoyed the old quirky cars rather than the modern BMW's and Mercedes. Its what turned me on to your channel. Also this goes to show you even though its a dealer auction and everything "usually" runs, you should bring one anyway for the gems like that.
Randy I just want to tell you your a very honest and humble person and you tell it how it is. You are a good example of a person who works hard and you come from not having much you are a good example for kids now days and adults as well. Keep up your videos man. Hello from fort worth TX.👍
Ramble all you like Randy. I enjoy your stories about where you've come from, the struggles you faced and persevered. You're also making an historical record that your kids would even be able to go back to years down the road. Pardon the pun.
Randy, please don't appologise for the story. It reminded me of my younger years being absolutely broke with 3 boys and driving some of the worst junks and being the sole supporter of all 5 of us. You wonder how we all made it, yes, we all have come a long way. Thank you for your story, it was a good one as well!!
Love hearing all your memories and stories Randy. You should try and save that Pontiac that would be awesome to see on the channel and watch you bring it back to life! Such cool little cars and not many left in good shape. The Lexus and the VW were not bad either. love the videos as always keep it up!👍
I had a 1984 Cavalier wagon and a 1988 Buick Skyhawk wagon. The Cavalier was great but was totaled in an accident. I blew up the engine on the Skyhawk. I loved both of them. The Sunfire does not look too bad. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to the next video.
All you needed was Leo Sayer's "Moonlighting" Song softly playing in the background as you retold your early life story as a Kid with a new Wife and Child. 😁 It certainly brought back memories for me, newly Married and moving House 4 hours away in nothing more than a 1964 Volkswagen Beetle! Now that was an experience!! 😂 lol
My first car was a 1983 Buick SkyHawk (Sunbird)2 door. 13 years old at the time. Rack and pinion was shot, barely made left turns. Had a pop up sunroof, thought I was so cool.
Hey Randy, kudos as always! I’ll bet you could get that Sunbird for next to nothing, and I think it would be really interesting to see what you could do with that on the channel! Speaking of memories, we talk about Volkswagen products not being reliable these days! Just the opposite back in the Day of the Beatles and buses! I had several Beatles one I bought brand new in 1965 and the bus later on, and they’re probably still running L O L
I owned a 2.5 liter base model VW wagon with a 5spd manual for a while. It was a great car, but just a few itens to note. 1. The water pumps on these 2.5 5 cyl. engines, well, VW's in general, are notorious for leaking. 2. The control arm bushings are a weak suspension part. 3. The air filter is on the under side of the plastic engine cover. To remove it, gently pull up on each corner and then lift it straight up. You will have direct access to the coil packs and other serviceable items. 4. Sensors sometimes go out, particular the air bag or seat belt sensor of which there many. Each can cost $600.00 if you go the dealer route. 4. Early years, 2005-2008 experienced timing chain and valve guide issues. These issues were addressed and reliabilty improved from 2009 through 2014, the final year of this body style. The 2.5 liter is way more reliable than the 2.0 liter turbo 4 cyl. Good luck with the bidding.
A family friend let me use their caviler to get to and from work. It was a crap car but it had a heater in the winter. I was in high school in the 90s and I was so thankful for having the car. I worked at a movie theater.
The twirly things on top of the van are called “fletner vents” on vans and are used when you are transferring dogs or food. As there are no windows in vans, there needs to be another way to circulate fresh air - and also get rid of the smell.
The Pontiac Sunbird… WOW! Mom had one, it was a 1985 - 5 speed manual. It was a metallic blue color. I miss that car! It was so much fun to drive. Looks like it’s in good shape for the year, didn’t see any rust.
The Sunbird will recall your old memory and an interesting tale of yesteryears....Randy...you come a long, long way...🎉😂and l think you wouldn't want to go back there again...life goes on...😅
My wife loves her 2012 VW with 107,000 miles. That 2.0 liter in the VW golf does have some get up and go too! That one you're looking at may need an Ozone and a new cabin air filter bet it's never been changed.
Hi Randy the golf would be a good starter car for you daughter instead of the Mitsubishi, the j 2000 brings back some memories also. thanks for the vids. santa
The 500X also has the 1.4 Turbo Multiair which is definitely peppier than the 2.4 NA Multiair 😊 In Europe we have diesel variants, 1.3 Multijet and the (perfect for the size of the car) 1.6 Multijet.
That Sunbird is the kind of car I love to see on your channel... Would love to see you get it. Its not the newer cars or the really old cars I love, its the ones that bring back the 80s and 90s to me that are mostly now gone and forgotten. And never heard you mention you were in the Navy before... Thank you for your service.
I did have a 1986 Chevy Cavalier in blue, one of my first cars. Manual transmission, small 4 cylinder. I blew that motor 4 times, it was cheaper to rebuild it then replace it at that the time. I did move up to a v6 after that....
I remember you had a Cavalier on the channel from around this era. It was a 4-door, possibly the same color. You should buy that J2000 (Sunbird). Looks like a fairly loaded one too, variable intermittent wipers, cruise control, A/C...
Hello Randy. The 1985 Pontiac Sunbird is a great looking car that you should bid on Randy. It was his adrenaline that helped him push the car back on its wheels. The 2018 Fiat is a great looking car.
Ah man, if I was anywhere close to you I'd be all over that Sunbird! Buddy of mine had a 94 Sunbird and I had a 92 Cavalier...looked almost identical. Would love to see that on the channel, you just don't see those anymore. In fact, you hardly see any cars up here in Canada from the 80s or even the 90s anymore...I think our Cash4Clunkers program killed them all. Everyone in town here drives something new, even the students have newer cars than me! If the Sunbird was an easy project, I'd definitely buy it.
Didn’t realize you where in the navy. Thanks for your service. Remember these sunbirds. Fiat interesting. Malibu might be a good one. Lexus run hard and put away wet.
The 200t is the lowest trim. Really not worth getting. The RC 350 fsport is the best if you want AWD. If you don’t care for AWD then the RCF is the best with a 5.0 L v8
I had a 86 sunbird that was bullett proof. I had it for years then gave it to my grandbabies momma as her car was crap. she had it for 2 or 3 years and then gave it to her step son. old, crappy but it was so reliable. wish i had another one
Randy love the content. If the pin to unlock your phone is 0411 u might want to change it. You filmed you were so focused on your job. Keep up the great work.l always learn something. Thanks to u all including Mike and Santa.
Buy that golf the 2.5 is the most reliable engine VW Made! I got a 2013 jetta 2.5l 123k miles had it since 32k miles only problem i had was valve cover gasket& had to clean the maf sensor
The 2.5 5 cylinder's are good motors. I'd actually drive that Golf, and I'm not a VW guy. The 500X is the twin to the Jeep Renegade. Thanks for the video, Randy.
Hi All..just say my opinion about the Fiat 500..it's a good car ..nice little car..you can buy it with confidence..The bad reputation of this marque is longer behind ..fiability is OK and their look is great. good affair so..regards.
That Golf has an very nice engine, it's an 2.5 5 cylinder with 170 HP. In my country (NL) this was unfortunately never available, they did not get higher then the 2.0 4 cylinder
I had that same 2.4 in my Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. All most got me ran over a few times. I had no idea the engine was made in Milfie, Italy. Got rid of it ASAP.
Hey Randy. Big fan of your videos. Just a word of caution. While reviewing that Malibu, you unlocked your phone while filming, to take that photo. You gotto be careful. You never know. Personally, i like these walk arounds better since you actually see a car run n drive. Shout out to MWM n Santa.
I have a newer Lexus is350- somewhat similar to the rc- and all I can say is wow, does Lexus make some incredible cars. If you want Toyota reliability with a bit of luxury and something that will hold value, but that Lexus. Besides the body damage, the car sure looks like eye candy and could easily make you some money!
The 200t is the lowest trim of the RC. Not even Fsport. Definitely not worth that much. If it was a 300 fsport, 350 fsport or RCF then yeah. It’s basically a economic car in luxury car clothes. Little 4cyl turbo. Not enough power for the weight unfortunately and really underwhelming
I think everyone in their past has had a situation like that. Broke, but still needing to get around,be it to work, or school. Mine was a 1977 Chrysler Cordoba. That car got me to school, it got me to work, and it got me to my girlfriend's house. I own that car until I went into the navy, I gave it to my brother, and from my understanding it didn't survive him.
Ok i see a trend on repo cars. Everyone smokes the weed can't afford to pay the note. Also cool real story on back in day family story. Everyone been there with that first car story.
Its amazing how seeing a car can bring back memories after many years. Save the J2000.
Where is your jump pack at
Out of all the cars you looked at today, I'd rather see the Sunbird on the channel. I've always enjoyed the old quirky cars rather than the modern BMW's and Mercedes. Its what turned me on to your channel. Also this goes to show you even though its a dealer auction and everything "usually" runs, you should bring one anyway for the gems like that.
Same here! Would be fun to see it brought back to its prime.
Haven't seen those specific style pontiacs on the road in an easy 15 years. This car would be perfect content.
Randy, i can not believe that you still go to auction yards and don’t take a booster pack, come on Randy you can do better than this.
Randy I just want to tell you your a very honest and humble person and you tell it how it is. You are a good example of a person who works hard and you come from not having much you are a good example for kids now days and adults as well. Keep up your videos man. Hello from fort worth TX.👍
I absolutely agree!
Ilike the old pontiac
Yeah he is nice guy 😊
Ramble all you like Randy. I enjoy your stories about where you've come from, the struggles you faced and persevered. You're also making an historical record that your kids would even be able to go back to years down the road. Pardon the pun.
Randy, that VW Golf night be a great choice to give to your daughter for her first car.

I got my wife a Lexus LS 430 and it is a 2004 the first Lexus I ever had. I love that car.
Man.... I didn't know you were a vet !!!!
Thank you for your service..... you have to get that car and replicate that drive
Im kinda digging the Sunfire. I think the front end is what does it for me. Its looks good for its age.
I think you should bring a jump pack out next time and try to start up that Pontiac. Who knows, maybe it might be worth buying!
Great story Randy!
Wow! That old Sunbird refused to die!
Nothing like a 5 cylinder. I have a 5 cylinder Passat. Car is great on gas and despite what “they” say, it’s been reliable.
Love the background stories. Get the little VW Golf. Those are good reliable transportation
All you needed was Leo Sayer's "Moonlighting" Song softly playing in the background as you retold your early life story as a Kid with a new Wife and Child. 😁
It certainly brought back memories for me, newly Married and moving House 4 hours away in nothing more than a 1964 Volkswagen Beetle! Now that was an experience!! 😂 lol
Love these walkaround with the test drives looks like full car reviews! Love these a lot! Keep it up !!!
I got a 500 Abarth. They're cool cars! Most people would disagree. They need heavy duty truck based cars instead. 👍
My first car was a 1983 Buick SkyHawk (Sunbird)2 door. 13 years old at the time. Rack and pinion was shot, barely made left turns. Had a pop up sunroof, thought I was so cool.

My best friend in high school had a red, convertible version of this car! What fun it was!
The twirly things on top of the van are called “fletner vents” on vans and are used when you are transferring dogs or food. As there are no windows in vans, there needs to be another way to circulate fresh air - and also get rid of the smell.
Hey!!! Wilson nc!!! I lived there when I got out of the navy in 1997, so I was there when you and your family arrived. Small world
The Pontiac Sunbird… WOW! Mom had one, it was a 1985 - 5 speed manual. It was a metallic blue color. I miss that car! It was so much fun to drive. Looks like it’s in good shape for the year, didn’t see any rust.
2.5L VW engine is very reliable...probably their best offering at the time. Quick and fuel efficient.
The Sunbird will recall your old memory and an interesting tale of yesteryears....Randy...you come a long, long way...🎉😂and l think you wouldn't want to go back there again...life goes on...😅
My dad had a j2000 wagon when i was a kid! He drove it for years around town even with a knocking engine!
I also concur with many others commenting that the Sunbird might be a fun project to take on.
That 5 cylinder VW is a nice one.
Just as you said, perhaps not the quickest around, but surely fast enough.
My wife loves her 2012 VW with 107,000 miles. That 2.0 liter in the VW golf does have some get up and go too! That one you're looking at may need an Ozone and a new cabin air filter bet it's never been changed.
Thanks for giving us your phone passcode while taking a picture to the impala
I didn’t know your a veteran thank you for your service Randy
Those Volkswagen 2.5s are actually incredibly reliable, I’d buy it
Thanks for walking for me love watching
I thought i heard wrong when you drove that golf but it has the VR5 engine, clear 5 cylinder sound, could be a good purchase
Hi Randy the golf would be a good starter car for you daughter instead of the Mitsubishi, the j 2000 brings back some memories also. thanks for the vids. santa
In the recent period, the videos have become more beautiful with the driving experience
Loved your story on the J2000 Randy thanks for sharing it!
Some people like the 2.5 in the Volkswagen's, some hate it. It was used in basically everything in the 2010's.
ON THAT FORD TRANSIT THEY WAS AIR VENT
The 500X also has the 1.4 Turbo Multiair which is definitely peppier than the 2.4 NA Multiair 😊
In Europe we have diesel variants, 1.3 Multijet and the (perfect for the size of the car) 1.6 Multijet.

Big Al needs that for his collection.
Love the front end of that sunbird
I remember you had a Cavalier on the channel from around this era. It was a 4-door, possibly the same color. You should buy that J2000 (Sunbird). Looks like a fairly loaded one too, variable intermittent wipers, cruise control, A/C...
I loved the Volkswagen, Lexus, and the Fiat! I think you should buy them all honestly.
Hello Randy. The 1985 Pontiac Sunbird is a great looking car that you should bid on Randy. It was his adrenaline that helped him push the car back on its wheels. The 2018 Fiat is a great looking car.

Thank you for sharing the story at the beginning.
That Lexus RC is such a sweet design. A bit plain inside, but eye candy
The 200t is the lowest trim. Really not worth getting. The RC 350 fsport is the best if you want AWD. If you don’t care for AWD then the RCF is the best with a 5.0 L v8
Hey Randy, next time you're in New Orleans, I need to let you drive my Lexus RC-F with the V8. You'd be in love with it
wow, my parents use to have a 1985 sunbird, we went everywhere in it, my dad had to do a head gasket at 90 k though haha
Look forward to watching your show. Thanks again
I feel like you do Randy, the Fiat is a unique vehicle and if it runs good and you find no major problems I would like to see it on the channel.
that sunbird kinda nice. 80.000 miles good deal. now your a dealer you have a lot prospects now. i like 1970s malibus.
I remember them J2000s, my stepmother had a red 1984 J2000. The front ends kinda reminded me of a late 70s Firebird
randy you are a badass 👍🏼👍🏼 i felt your story like if it was mine , we all have that one car that we still remember , In my case a honda del sol 😊
Damn, love the Sunbird! I had the same year Grand Am back in the day!
I had a 86 sunbird that was bullett proof. I had it for years then gave it to my grandbabies momma as her car was crap. she had it for 2 or 3 years and then gave it to her step son. old, crappy but it was so reliable. wish i had another one

Keep the great work. Vary awesome collection at the auto action area indeed.
Please tell more stories! I could hear the whole experience in your voice😊
I like the Pontiac, good story.🥰
That sunbird would be awesome to see on the channel
Never forget where you come from, exactly Randy.
Buy that golf the 2.5 is the most reliable engine VW Made!
I got a 2013 jetta 2.5l 123k miles had it since 32k miles only problem i had was valve cover gasket& had to clean the maf sensor
Did not know you're a fellow Navy vet! I will definitely follow! Former Corpsman here brother!
Rambling is good content Randy 😊
The 2.5 5 cylinder's are good motors.
I'd actually drive that Golf, and I'm not a VW guy.
The 500X is the twin to the Jeep Renegade.

Nice golf as a Guy from europe they are differents , and the us one got a nice 5cylinders 👍👍
Cool memory I respect.👍
That Golf has an very nice engine, it's an 2.5 5 cylinder with 170 HP. In my country (NL) this was unfortunately never available, they did not get higher then the 2.0 4 cylinder
Ford Transit on the roof is for ventilation for the rear box (Freash air)
Because of your history/experience during your growth, save the J2000.. even for pure nostalgia.
I had that same 2.4 in my Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. All most got me ran over a few times. I had no idea the engine was made in Milfie, Italy. Got rid of it ASAP.
another great video Randy, 👍

That Lexus RC 200 T looks promising Randy 😎😎👍👍
Thanks for sharing that story
The vw 2.5 is a great motor!
my sister had golf tdi in the uk 300000 miles pass mot no issues with engine or gear box had it 12 years
the van is ideally good for box carriages
Thank You For your service 🇺🇸
Definitely go for the Fiat I think it would be fun to see on the channel.
SAVE THE J2000 RANDY! The real fans want to see it guaranteed man
The delay in drive with the fiat my Jeep renegade does the same thing has the same powertrain I drive it daily and haven’t had any issues
I have owned a Volkswagens for 12 years and never had any problems at all. I love the brand.
LOVE YOUR STORIES RANDY
Thank you for sharing your story
Save that sunbird. My first car was a 92 red sunbird! I hated it at the time but now I miss it
