This movie was such a great watch for any long time gamer. So many IP's are used and all the jokes hit for me, but also the movie had so many great undertones for real life and how you should be as a person
I've seen people argue that the movie sends a bad message, that you should just accept your station in life and never try new things (which probably explains a lot of things about the sequel, but that's a whole other can of worms 🙄). But that's not what this movie meant at all. Ralph felt useless because he believed all he could ever be was a Bad Guy, but Vanellope helped him realize what a good person he truly was all along. He wanted the Nicelanders' acceptance, but first he needed acceptance from the most important place of all - himself. And that's the true message: that there are inherent things in each of our lives that we can't control, but they don't define us as people. What we are is not nearly as important as who we are. And I think that's really beautiful 😊
@@jbwarner8626 exactly, we aren't all born perfect nor will we be the one everyone loves. But that doesn't mean we get treated any differently and that sometimes if given a chance we can surprise you. I had to fight and find my own way and now I'm a certified mechanic on track to become a master technician
One of the little details I love is that the car of the "king" always was just white. Like Turbo. I mean why would a colorful king have a white car... :D
There's so many good clues about how out of place King Candy is. He doesn't match the anime-esque designs of the rest of the racers, he's the only adult in a roster full of kids, and while everyone else has these elaborate candy portmanteau names like Adorabeezle Winterpop and Crumbelina DiCaramello, he's just dull ol' King Candy. Even his code block is out of place - it's like fifty times bigger than all the others, like he had to conceal all the hacking he had to do to make it. My favorite clue is how he tries to deny his castle is pink ("Salmon! Salmon, that's obviously salm-- What are you doing here?!") In the moment, it plays like an obviously prissy guy trying to deny that he likes pink; at the end, it's revealed that, oh duh, of course his castle is pink, he _stole_ it from a little girl. This movie literally thought of everything 😁
So here's my theory about why Ralph is so unpopular among the Nicelanders at the beginning - you notice they're all just sort of afraid of him, but the only one who's outright antagonistic towards him is Gene, the guy he throws out of the building at the start of every game. It's like Gene is bitter about barely being in the game and blames Ralph for it, then just started a smear campaign against him among all the other Nicelanders. And Felix, who assumes the best about everybody and is too polite to take a stance one way or the other, is just caught in the middle. This is one of my favorite movies of all time; I think about it a lot 😄
@@NiceDudeMovieNight Oh, this is one of the tightest and most flawless scripts Disney's ever produced; they thought of everything. Most of the people behind the scenes were alumni from The Simpsons, including director Rich Moore and head of story Jim Reardon, so if anyone knows how to tell an extremely efficient story full of smart-alecky humor, genuine heart, and creative world-building, it's them 😁
I've been learning a lot about this movie, there's a lot of hints that give away the Turbo twist (spoilers if you watch the movie/this video after the comments). 1. TurboTime was a cabinet neighbor to Fix-it-Felix Jr., which is how King Candy recognized Wreck-it-Ralph, they were neighbors 2. Alan Tudyk is the voice of King Candy, if you can pick out his voice from Turbo, that's a give away 3. King Candy calls the pink castle Salmon colored, kinda giving it away that it wasn't his to begin with because pink is for girls, generally 4. If a video game character dies in their world, they respawn, but if they die anywhere else, they die for good, if Sugar Rush was King Candy's world, he would not be scared of Ralph at all, but he is. 5. although I haven't been able to find the exact scene, someone mentioned that when King Candy's name is announced, it sounds different to the rest of the cast. 6. Sugar Rush looks chibi anime, King Candy looks western, out of place. This last bit isn't a hint but it's a spooky detail, when Turbo is revealed, if you slow it down as much as possible, you can see Turbo doing an 8-bit thumbs up and then a 3D thumbs up while looking at the camera, breaking the 4th wall for the briefest of moments.
Vanellope is how I was when I was a kid, bullied for reasons I couldn't control. Ralph is how I am as an adult, beaten down by a crummy job where I'm not appreciated. It's no wonder this movie struck such a chord with me.
I identify with Venellope on so many levels. I was the first and only student in my school who had epilepsy. The kids made fun of me and didn't want to go near me. Teachers were scared of my seizures and kicked me out of their classes because they didn't want me to cause problems. The principal tried to expel me, but I was too good.
Calhoun’s tragic backstory is way worse than it seems and most people don’t realise. The bugs become what they eat so she had to kill that bug that had her fiancés face
Fun Fact: The Sugar Rush game theme song was actually done by the large all female J-Pop Idol group known as AKB48. As of current they over 80 members but has had well over 100 members at one time.
You guys are the best! The only reaction videos that I can watch beginning to end and enjoy every second of it. You really got a great formula, keep up the good work!
I havent watched this movie since before the sequel came out, and I got emotional all over again and cried at certain parts. To this day, it's still my favorite computer-animated Disney movie. So many elements of it are impressive and entertaining, as a gamer- like how the Cy-Bugs mutate based on what they eat. And Sugar Rush would be a legit home-run if it were a real game; the concept is solid. And the casting for this movie is stellar, Alan Tudyk turns everything he touches into gold. Everyone was bringing 100% to this. It *is* a shame the sequel was a letdown that totally retcons major plot points from this movie, but sometimes that's just how things go. Still glad you guys watched this one, I'mma have to watch the movie for real now.
Fun fact about this movie: the reason Wreck-it Ralph destroys the Nicelanders building isn't just because if his programming within the game, but because of a real system of law known as "Eminent Domain", which gives the government the right to take private property at their discretion. Don't believe me? Listen to the song "Wreck-it, Wreck-it Ralph", especially the first verse which goes like this: "Wreck-it Ralph is a giant of a man, 9 feet tall with really big hands Living in a stump on his very own land until his world went crazy He was minding his own business on the day they came They showed a piece of paper saying 'Eminent Domain' They built an apartment building saying 'progress was to blame' So he got mad and he turned bad Brick by brick HE'S GONNA TAKE HIS LAND BACK!" So the truth about this movie is that Wreck-it Ralph is not a bad guy at all, but the victim of a very unfair law.
I missed the video game arcade wave, so Ralph's back story is what drew me into this "kid's movie." The Bad-Anon motto/mantra is the heart of this tale. "I'm Bad and that's Good. I will never be Good and that's not Bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me." After Ralph left on his medal quest, the Nicelanders and Felix discovered how important he is/was to their game. The characters live, learn and appreciate each other in ways that hadn't been aware of before.
I love this movie, I remember when I got it on DVD I would have it playing as background noise for days, as soon as it ended I started it again! Probably my second favorite Disney film, after Emperor's New Groove. I've never found one to dislodge that from the number 1 spot haha.
I had written off this movie until a friend convinced me to see it. I was *stunned* and consistently delighted throughout. Not only are video games and references organically woven into the plot, the film is written so well that I usually notice new things about it every rewatch. One of the best family films of the 2010s.
One fun fact about Zangief being in the bad guy meeting is that he isnt technically a bad guy in his game. The director made him a bad guy because he could never beet him in street fighter and it always made him angry.
Spoilers: First we think King Candy is a bad guy, then we think he's good, then he's a bad guy again, then we find out he's TURBO. I had my doubts of him being good when he explained the glitch thing but I had NO idea that he would be Turbo. What's creepy is if you pause the movie at the right time when he is revealed you can see him looking directly at us and holding two thumbs up like he does in his game. He breaks the fourth wall for a second and you would of never realized it without checking.
Where did they go wrong with RBTI? Everything. Jokes aside, but I like that Bowser was at that meeting along with Eggman. I really want him to bring Junior along so he can introduce him to the other villains 5:52 He has a name, you know. Jack McBrayer! He also voices Wander in Wander over Yonder if you're willing to do TV reactions!
This one is wholesome but I can't wait for you guys to watch the second one. Not because of the story but just to see your faces at the sheer amount of references and 4-wall breaking it has. XD Anyone else agree?
There is a local place to me called Garcade. It's a giant retro arcade where you pay a door fee and then get to play games the entire day and can come and go as you please throughout the day. They have a Wreck-it-Ralph machine that I LOVE playing, but I'm really terrible at it.
Ugh... don't get me started on the sequel. It feels like an angry bitter fanfiction written by someone who hated the first movie and thought they were fixing it by taking out all the things that made it fun 😑
For raw movie values it's the best Disney movie in my opinion. The only thing it lacks is sing along musicals but they cut that for a even better story. Well worth the trade!
Has anyone pointed out that Mr Litwak's apearence is based off of Walter Day? He is a video game referee and he founded Twin Galaxies, the leader board for video game high scores.
The voice actor for Felix also did Wander from Wander over yonder. He's really good and plays likable characters. I saw the comic-con panel for Wander and he seams like a nice guy 🙂
Love this movie so much, that affirmation at the end gets me everytime. While a lot of people dont like the sequel, it is to the 2000's and 2010's what the first one is to 80's and 90's. If you grew up in the 2000 to 2020's your gonna love the references and it has a good story, the people who dislike it are mainly against the cringy references, but it's par for the course as that is how the web is these days lol
Just to say : The nice-landers (the tiny characters from the game of wreck it Ralph) are actually the bad guys here. They didn't invited Ralph despite his humongous important role and they consider him as a villain, even when the game is off (I know he's wrecking stuff, but it's not an excuse). Without his presence, there will be no game. But still, these little turds don't want him.
The two cops are both donuts, one is a classic iced yeast donut. The one that look like an eclair is actually called a "Long John" and it is usually iced with chocolat or maple icing and can be filled with a sweet cream (similar to the filling of a Oreo, but not quite as solid) filling, custard or no filing. Maple iced, cream filled Long John is my very favorite donut.
Applaud for your style of just starting right away. So many react videos have soooo long intro and "basic" insight but both of you seems to really enjoy reacting. Keep it up and more subs ❤❤❤
Someone, from another channel, made an interesting comment on why Gene hates Ralph so much. At the start of every game, Ralph punches through his apartment, grabs him and throws him out of the building. Gene has to live that every time someone plays the game. probably every level too. More than Felix, Gene has, probably, suffered from Ralph than anyone else. Not that it makes it OK, how he treats him. But at least there is reason.
Fact : beard papa is actually character of a japanese ice cream company. Another fact : there is a hint about the real identity of king candy right before the revelation. When he encounters Ralph, he recognize him right away. But the fact that Ralph ask who he is shows that they never met each other, even outside of the game.
Nobody seems to realize Ralph is Donkey Kong, Felix is Mario, Calhoun is more or less Halo. I picked it up right away. Sugar Race is Mario Kart obviously, but I think it's probably got some Candy Crush mixed in. And the donut cops hounds are devil dogs, a popular snack cake.
This movie has one of the best DVDs. If you pause the movie, Chris Hardwick comes on screen and starts showing you Easter eggs hidden throughout the movie.
One of my favorite animated movies of all time. Too bad Disney COMPLETELY 180'd everything this movie was with the sequel. It was just so disappointing and sad.

And the cyborg who rips his heart out, despite only being called "Cyborg" in the credits, is pretty obviously Kano from Mortal Kombat. Which is yet another reason why this movie is amazing - show me one other Disney movie that has a Mortal Kombat fatality in it 😆
The Cyborg who rips Cyril the Zombie's heart out, is meant to be Kano from Mortal Kombat but Neatherrealms (who's owned by Warner Bros. one of Disney's greatest rivals) wouldn't let Disney the guy call Kano or resemble him to a tee, so he got as close as they could but it's still obvious. Even ripping the heart out move is Kano's signature Fatality from the Mortal Kombat franchise (particularly in the first one from 1992).
The ending part, where he's reciting his mantra _literally_ makes me tear up every time. Just because it's _such_ a good moment.

Having ADHD the message of this movie hit my heart as I wasn't given the same chance in school as everyone else. I had to fight and find my own way and now I'm a certified mechanic on track to become a master technician
@@jbwarner8626 Exactly! Even the Nice Dude's pointed out that by the end of the movie, both Ralph and Venelope's "weaknesses" became "strengths".
I love how much Altaf loves Calhoun - It's so sweet. ^_^
I did it! Having definitely seen this video in entirety, you guys did great. I loved when you guys laughed at a funny thing.
😂😂😂
There are not enough Wreck it Ralph reactions, thank you dudes for adding another 😁
One of the little details I love is that the car of the "king" always was just white.
Nice thing with the roach in Tapper's Lost'n'Found: That's Ralph dealing with a bug. ^^
Ahhh nice haha
I love this movie SO much and I tear up every time I see him reciting his mantra and willing to sacrifice himself
That would make a lot of sense, actually! I wonder how much thought went into those dynamics ahead of time!
1. TurboTime was a cabinet neighbor to Fix-it-Felix Jr., which is how King Candy recognized Wreck-it-Ralph, they were neighbors
2. Alan Tudyk is the voice of King Candy, if you can pick out his voice from Turbo, that's a give away
3. King Candy calls the pink castle Salmon colored, kinda giving it away that it wasn't his to begin with because pink is for girls, generally
I identify with Ralph on so many levels
Vanellope is how I was when I was a kid, bullied for reasons I couldn't control. Ralph is how I am as an adult, beaten down by a crummy job where I'm not appreciated. It's no wonder this movie struck such a chord with me.
Even the bonus level?
I too am a big clumsy guy with bad breath unhappy with his lot in life.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I’m sad there is no sequel.
*There is no sequel*
There is: Ralph breaks the Internet.

Why do people hate sequels so much? It's really not that serious
@@erikawilliams9558 Not all sequels, just bad ones.
Calhoun’s tragic backstory is way worse than it seems and most people don’t realise. The bugs become what they eat so she had to kill that bug that had her fiancés face
Still probably one of my favorite twist villains in a movie, especially a Disney movie.
one of my all time favourite Disney movies, it just speaks to me as a gamer.
Totally makes sense!
As someone who is much more a video game person rather than a movie person I REALLY enjoy this movie
I bet you got a kick out of Ready Player One.

Fun Fact: The Sugar Rush game theme song was actually done by the large all female J-Pop Idol group known as AKB48. As of current they over 80 members but has had well over 100 members at one time.
Top two movie twists of all time: King Candy was Turbo, Norman Bates was his mother!
You guys are the best! The only reaction videos that I can watch beginning to end and enjoy every second of it. You really got a great formula, keep up the good work!

Yes, Disney did make a small amount of wreck it Ralph old school consoles that were placed at places like Disney springs
Listen to the song "Wreck-it, Wreck-it Ralph", especially the first verse which goes like this:
"Wreck-it Ralph is a giant of a man, 9 feet tall with really big hands
Living in a stump on his very own land until his world went crazy
He was minding his own business on the day they came
They showed a piece of paper saying 'Eminent Domain'
They built an apartment building saying 'progress was to blame'
So he got mad and he turned bad
Brick by brick HE'S GONNA TAKE HIS LAND BACK!"
So the truth about this movie is that Wreck-it Ralph is not a bad guy at all, but the victim of a very unfair law.
Well observed! ☺️
That song is the entire reason why I even know what Eminent Domain means
@@RandomDragonEXE
I learned about it from a movie, too... 1967's *The Boston Strangler.* (No, it wasn't a significant plot point.) 😉
Ahahahahahaha, "Rhianntage" is solid gold. I'm so glad I'm not the only person who craves the comedic energy of a well-deployed portmanteau.
Personally, I like Fungeon better.
they have Wreck-It-Ralph arcade machines at disneyland!
Oh that sounds fun!!
Do they have Hero Duty? Because that game looks fucking awesome.
not that I saw@@kittycatmeowmeow963
I love both of these movies to pieces! Was watching this one when I came up with my username on MW2019. It became a universal name shortly after
Hahaha nice!
One fun fact about Zangief being in the bad guy meeting is that he isnt technically a bad guy in his game. The director made him a bad guy because he could never beet him in street fighter and it always made him angry.
"When I see Disney I see the magic of movies. Not mindless IP."
Best thing I've heard all year.
Spoilers:
First we think King Candy is a bad guy, then we think he's good, then he's a bad guy again, then we find out he's TURBO.
If you ask me, this is Disney's best use of the "surprise twist villain" trope. No other movie they've done has pulled it off this well.
Oh man that's freaky! I'll look that image up lol
Where did they go wrong with RBTI? Everything.
Jokes aside, but I like that Bowser was at that meeting along with Eggman. I really want him to bring Junior along so he can introduce him to the other villains
5:52 He has a name, you know.
Not really, the second is such a letdown after the greatness of this one.
“Cherry chasing dot muncher” is my absolute favorite line, lol.
There is a local place to me called Garcade. It's a giant retro arcade where you pay a door fee and then get to play games the entire day and can come and go as you please throughout the day. They have a Wreck-it-Ralph machine that I LOVE playing, but I'm really terrible at it.
I like how you two just set up for a sponsors advertisement with such good acting skills in this.
Yes!!
Love this movie!!
The sequel is very funny and very self aware.
Ugh... don't get me started on the sequel. It feels like an angry bitter fanfiction written by someone who hated the first movie and thought they were fixing it by taking out all the things that made it fun 😑
For raw movie values it's the best Disney movie in my opinion. The only thing it lacks is sing along musicals but they cut that for a even better story. Well worth the trade!
me sister and I cried in the theatre watching this movie, still one of my favourites to this day
*”It’s turbo guy!”* - this guy!
28:52 that entire shot of all of the racers going is a reference to mario kart! :)
Felix and Calhoun make me think what could have happened if Mario met Lara Croft.
That's probably exactly how their dynamic was pitched 😂
I really liked the character of fix it Felix, he’s old fashioned and kind of naive, but also hyper competent
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL! THESE TWO ARE AMAZING!
I love this movie and I will admit to seeing it in the theatre. I'm old enough to remember all the old games (I was GREAT at Qbert!).
Has anyone pointed out that Mr Litwak's apearence is based off of Walter Day? He is a video game referee and he founded Twin Galaxies, the leader board for video game high scores.
Love the reactions guys. Keep it up, good luck
We appreciate the love!!
I don't care what anyone says, I like When Can I See You Again and Sugar Rush from the film. Both these songs are good.
If you guys haven't watched Short Circuit 1 & 2 (1986 & 1988) You REALLY should
Oh, absolutely! Short Circuit is one of my all-time favorite 80s movies!
Nah, I'm against the cringy storyline, that disrespects the original movie.
Just to say :
The nice-landers (the tiny characters from the game of wreck it Ralph) are actually the bad guys here.
They didn't invited Ralph despite his humongous important role and they consider him as a villain, even when the game is off (I know he's wrecking stuff, but it's not an excuse).
Without his presence, there will be no game. But still, these little turds don't want him.
“You really are a bad guy” ow.. my heart 😢
I love that the donut cop's mustache is chocolate sprinkles
The two cops are both donuts, one is a classic iced yeast donut. The one that look like an eclair is actually called a "Long John" and it is usually iced with chocolat or maple icing and can be filled with a sweet cream (similar to the filling of a Oreo, but not quite as solid) filling, custard or no filing. Maple iced, cream filled Long John is my very favorite donut.
Can we also appreciate the fact that their names are Wynnchel and Duncan, after two of the biggest donut shop chains in the country? 😆
Grew up watching this movie and love it
I saw this in theaters 3 times, I was obsessed X'D
I love this movie! Excellent reaction! Your reactions are always the best combination of heartfelt and funny!
Fact : beard papa is actually character of a japanese ice cream company.
Another fact : there is a hint about the real identity of king candy right before the revelation. When he encounters Ralph, he recognize him right away. But the fact that Ralph ask who he is shows that they never met each other, even outside of the game.
You guys always give me a gutbusting laugh :)
Happy to provide! 😁
I have Seen that movie 20 times
Nobody seems to realize Ralph is Donkey Kong, Felix is Mario, Calhoun is more or less Halo. I picked it up right away. Sugar Race is Mario Kart obviously, but I think it's probably got some Candy Crush mixed in. And the donut cops hounds are devil dogs, a popular snack cake.
Calhoun's game is called Hero's Duty, an obvious reference to Call of Duty. Suprised you missed that.
This movie has one of the best DVDs. If you pause the movie, Chris Hardwick comes on screen and starts showing you Easter eggs hidden throughout the movie.
I watched this movie so much as a kid.
This movie is one of the best matches for the name of your channel.
Prince of Egypt! You guys are going to love it!
One of my favorite animated movies of all time. Too bad Disney COMPLETELY 180'd everything this movie was with the sequel. It was just so disappointing and sad.
12 year old me was SO SHOCKED by the twist near the end.
You guys should watch "Soldier" with Kurt Russel, an overlooked old-school sci-fi action 😊
That babel segue was so cute I ship you two so hard
Ah, yes. Q*bert - sighs wistfully. How many hours I wasted, sitting on my best friend's living room carpet, leaned against the sofa. The Atari joystick controlling that weird little bouncing dude. Happy days, indeed.
It's a classic!
@@NiceDudeMovieNight For me it was Space Invaders and Missile Command. :P
@@vanhattfield8292 There was another Atari game that basically involved being in a tank and firing at stuff in a desert like terrain. No clue what it was called but if you steered too far into certain areas of the screen, the graphics got seriously messed up and turned into weird geometric blocks. Good clean fun, all round 🤣
This movie is a level of masterclass I hadn't been expecting.
Sure, I expected to have a good time when I went to go see it in theaters, but not have a new film I'd never forget.
King Candy is a loose reference to actor Ed Wynn, who appeared in several Disney films. He's well known as Uncle Albert in the film Mary Poppins.
I love this movie bc it contains the most prime example of me and my wife in media; a small lil baby man whos too sweet and talks like hes from the 50s & a strong kinda mean woman whos larger than him and drives him places while he just stares at her with like a puppy dog level amount of admiration.
She HAAAATES when i watch this movie in the bedroom bc shell just walk in on me during their scenes and she punches me in the arm and tells me to stop being so gay. God i love that woman
The zombie in the beginning is from house of the dead
Yep, those two axes will always haunt me... not as haunting as the voice acting in House of the Dead 😅
Your reaction, is my favorite reaction I have seen to this movie 😂
