- Here's a tour of my dolby atmos home theater. My speaker setup is a 5.1.2 surround sound system.
My Home Theater Product Guide:
Despite me using SVS Speakers and Subwoofer I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. I had a really bad experience with them and do not endorse or support them.

not enough TV for that much sound, especially when sitting that far back.
Yup.
I have a 70" LG on a 7.1 setup and think is small, going to see if an 80" shows up for cheap on black friday ;D
Just buy a projector

Laser projector? they look good.
I'm an audio guy.... That has designed "many" audio amplifiers... Your system is just fine! What so many audio guys can not wrap their heads around is: Audio is a personal thing, and if you're happy, that's all that matters! Great Job Armando!
🙌🏼
If Mr. Carlson gives a nod of approval then you are doing fine.
That's absolutely correct.
Very very true!!! I've learned that as a broadcast engineer. Everyone wants to hear something different. But your setup is amazing.
With people who look at themselves as extra knowledge on a subject, they will get a type of "against the sheep", type of understanding, because they are "special", and they think they can say damn outrageous things and get away with it, sound is not personal, sound is scientific, and has an objectivity to it. Speaker placement has a scientifically verifiable effect, and that is a fact, there is no personal interpretation of that PHYSICAL fact.
nice and clean setup! Bet it sounds great.
Nice setup! You didn't need an amp to go with the avr to drive those ultras alongside the rest of the setup?
You know you're successful when your wife lets you build your man cave in the living room
Jack Le I have a 5.1.4 Atmos set up in my living room with 17 feet ceiling. Because I’m the “Man” of the house.
Why don't you tell us about how your mom set it up for you?
I have a 7.1.4 setup and wifey gets the rest of the house
Jack Le wife's let's you? That's not a wife that's a mum. My living room is my man cave my spot cos it's my house too
I still live with my mom... free WiFi & don’t have to pay mortgage
I see the "Audiophiles" have arrived. It seems some are missing the point, this was a project that had a bunch of compromises. I am 100% aware of speaker placement, heck I even said it in the video (some seem to have missed that). There's only so much I can do with the current layout and design of the house without ripping walls and redesigning things.
This house already has a dedicated movie theater that was wired and is perfect in size to have everything done correctly. However, I chose to make that room my studio because the size of the room is really big and having my own studio is more important to me than having a fancy theater in my home.
With that being said, I love movies and appreciate a good surround sound system. So knowing the limitations of the room and challenges we did the best that we could to make it work and also keeping it minimal. Yes, the TV is on the smaller side and the most I can fit is 70" which I haven't bought because I'm waiting for the right TV.
Bottom line, it sounds perfect in the given conditions and everyone that has experienced it has been blown away by how immersive the sound experience is. In fact, I wish I would have recorded this but the first time I fired it up, my kids were looking around the room because they thought a bird was flying around when I played an Atmos demo. It was pretty awesome to see.
So although I appreciate the comments, you're preaching to the choir because I already know this lol. We are 100% satisfied with everything and love watching movies and entertaining our guests which is better than not having anything at all and listening to the sound coming from the TV or a soundbar.
Armando Ferreira I
Really nice man! I also got hooked on SVS! I got a Subwoofer from them years ago (It's really a beast, and that's what they are known for), but then i started looking in their speakers and man, i was in love with the Ultra towers so, yeah, i bought those :P I still need to get the center speaker and the rear speaker though. Your video convinced me to order that center right away :-) Great setup you have there man :-D
Armando Ferreira it's a great setup you have and I faced some of those limitations myself. Don't let them trolls/haters get to you....Great job.
Yes, my system is the same. I made a lot of compromises. I know exactly what should be, and what shouldnt be. But Im not building a strict theater, Im building a media room. If I wanted a theater, I would have built an underground basement. So yes I respect your choices. The one thing I would recommend is packing your front speaker spaces with 6 lb rock wool insulation around the actual speakers. Thats what I did here.. ruclips.net/video/_xD_eszip0E/видео.html
I'm jealous and I will admit it. I won't start making an ass of myself by making comments about what you should and shouldn't be doing. Can you pay less? Yes. Can you pay more? Yes. But the main question is..... Do you enjoy it? Majority of people making a comment probably don't have a setup. I'm happy with my cheap pionner dts-hd setup and if I had the space and money, I would do the exact same thing you have. Ignore the haters and enjoy what you have.
Excellent video quality (as usual) and what an amazing home, kudos to you! The hard work paid off!
This is sooo awesome loved it man!
I noticed that you have your SVS bookshelf speakers inside of a cabinet which very negatively affects sound quality such as resonance. I would suggest to stick acoustic foam in the entire inside of those cabinets so that you don’t get resonating sound reflections.
Thanks for the tip, I will do that next week.
Armando Ferreira 👍
and the speakers are very close togehter
What brand-model is that white little box that use as visual speed ethernet meter and switcher???.
ajazgoogle it’s an Ampli-Fi router
Insane 😍
Been waiting for this since you showed me the ceiling speakers on Twitter. Looks tremendous and the install is so clean 👌
That subwoofer really is a monster 😲
Very well made video! Great production quality.
Love the area under your TV that holds the speakers and audio equipment.
great setup and nice living room too :-)
Wow, blown away. Great setup and video.
Nice and clean! I can only imagine the sound! Congrats on your set up Armando! Enjoy!
Now time for a bigger TV lol
Wow! Awesome, now we need a house tour :D
Awesome setup! Nice presentation and video! Good job!
Great setup and your video is very well done. Thanks for sharing!
Could you describe the bad experience with the SVS speakers? I have been narrowing my choices and finally settled on them. At the moment I am only looking to purchase two of the Ultra Bookshelf speakers. Oddly enough I settled on the same Pioneer receiver as well. I am just hoping that I am not setting myself up for failure! Thanks for the help!
@@bkwoods2788 My sound system consists of 6 SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers (2 for the mains, 2 for the side channels, and 2 for the rears), an SVS Ultra Center speaker, 4 SVS Prime Elevation speakers ceiling mounted for Dolby Atmos and 2 SVS SB-3000 Subwoofers. The system is powered by a Parasound Halo A52+ 5 channel amplifier and a Yamaha Aventage RX-A8A 11 channel AVR with dual AC Infinity AIRCOM T9's keeping them cool, and all are connected to a Panamax M5400-PM Power Conditioner. The output power of this Living Room home theater system is 2,800 watts R.M.S.
Nice home audio setup... Nice pad too... I don't get the negative comments regarding the TV?? "Each to their own".. A 65" TV is not a small TV by any stretch of the imagination.. it fits in nicely to its surroundings too.. There's not many people can afford to buy a 65" TV and put it in a place they can call home.. People can't even afford to buy a home with a living room big enough to fit in.. So good on yah!!
dam this video was well put together! love it
What are you using to control the led strips on the back of the tv to sync with the screen?
Living the dream!!!
Very nice setup, very clean. I still remember when one of my colleagues dropped $10,000 on a Pioneer 50 inch plasma tv years ago, this is a much better deal. LOL
Must have been a Pioneer Kuro, those were epic.
I remember it didn't have any speakers built-in. You were the king if you had one of those back then.
venom5809 There was a 60 inch Kuro for sale on my local Craigslist for $100 a few weeks ago lol.
I still own one, still the colors are better than most other TVs but it weighs 50kg and now there is nearly nobody wanting to buy it
venom5809 - My dad still has his Pioneer Elite TV. It's from the last batch that Pioneer made. Even when compared to today's TVs, it has fantastic colors.
Awesome video guys. I loved it 😍
I get this system! Glad you asserted that sub. That thing shakes the house!!!! Well done!
I know there’s a like and dislike button but where is the jealous button. Love this setup.
Branden Waldron Lol
For real man, my two year old would love that set up for watching Shrek all day long lol
Alexa seemed a bit slow while dealing with the lights ! 😂
Shrey Tyagi for real
Not my lights they came right on lol
You did a great job I like that you paid attention to detail and you took your time and did everything right👍
Alexa was going crazy looking for things in my house at the end of the video...really nice setup...love those in-ceiling directionals
That is a TINY screen for $10,000.
couldnt compensate
tiny? no, it's not
Its not... he is the one having the sofa in another city
@@eugeniomartins9091 It's small for the room size. There is an "optimal size" for viewing distances. Can't remember off the top of my head but it's around 50-60 degrees in front of you. Basically what you would see if you sat center and half way up in a theater.
He said it’s a 65”. Big room. I thought the same until he was at the tv.
Too unfortunate there is no space for a bigger screen size, beautiful home though.
Yeah, had to work with the layout of the home. I mean in all fairness it had a dedicated theater room. I just decided to make it my studio because it's really big and I'd rather have a studio than a dedicated theater room
Armando Ferreira I thought the same about the dedicated theater room, but your studio is also your work, so it totally make sense. That subwoofer will be appreciated by Hans Zimmer. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Yeah, I sit 8 ft from my 60". I can't imagine being any further away than that, even at 65". But he could always get a screen and projector to drop in front of all that when he wants to do a "proper" movie night. :) He may have to spend as much on a gift for his wife as he does for the projector & screen...
Why not just work in the theater room..wink wink..lol..sounds l il le something in would have done..
Armando Ferreira you can always in the future have a projector screen that you can pull down in front of the TV when watching a movie and back up for casual tv watching. They make acoustically transparent projector screens so you're speakers can stay where they are.
I love the set up. You did a great job.
How did you set up the Amazon Echo voice control for lighting. Did you have to replace the wall switch?
Armando... I'm loving that couch.
Haha it's amazing
What kind of couch is that?
yeah where is the couch from
Any word on the make/brand of the couch?
Armando Ferreira couch brand
The pad is looking good bro!
Thanks man, little by little it's coming along good.
David Mander Thank you for letting me know sir!

You have not be knighted!!! 🗡️🛡️👊😎
David Mander You do not know that! But he is definitely not his Sister for sure Bwhahahahahahaaa
What an awesome setup bro and gorgeous home
Very cool set up, well done!!
"If the wife is washing dishes or something...." Yeah. Clearly he's not married.
LOL. That swivel thing was for him.
Amazing I wish I could listen to this system...you did a great job bro 👌
I wish you could listen to it too, I love inviting people over to experience it.
You have a beautiful home dude! Congrats 🎆
Wow looks great very clean setup. The custom cabinet so cool.
full smart home tour pls!!
I plan too
Armando Ferreira you’re the man brother
I couldn't be your neighbor because as soon as I hear a movie coming on I would be knocking at your door to watch too ha dope setup tho
get your own sound system...
That house setup is so freaking nice. It's like I was looking at a home growth magazine. All you need is pictures on the wall.
Do you just send your HDMI out from the receiver into the dream screen and then out from the dream screen hub into the TV or do you individually plug devices into it? Also currently I use an ARC HDMI port on my reciever and TV, so that I can utilize the smart TV with my surround sound, will it still work?
I know you've had many negative comments, but I'm confused as to why you got a 4k tv when your seating area is 8+ ft away. Is the increase in detail that noticable? I have a 55" 4k hdr tv and I purposefully sit 4-5 ft away to take advantage of the resolution.
Probably because any quality TV available today is going to be 4K.
Mark Konior good point
Mark Konior At that distance, you must have a projector ...
Too much echo in the room, see if you can do more room acoustic treatment as long as your wife approves!
Did you manage a solution for the rear KEF speakers? I was thinking a bit of wood on a door hinge if there's nothing dedicated out there.
Great video. Did yiu have to do anything to get location based responses?
Awesome. Ignore the haters/moaners. We can always have done things differently or better. But it's your home, your well earned cash, your Wife, your Family. And you're happy. That's all that matters. And thank you for convincing me to stick with my idea of concealing the centre speaker for my bespoke media unit.
Thank you! If you make a video I'd let to see your setup when you're done. Always like to see setups, ✌🏼
now you just need some decent 4k TV like an OLED it will blow you away.
Or the QLED 8k Samsung tv
I was wondering how is the Pioneer receiver holding up?
Would you recommend them after the time you've owned it or should I look elsewhere?
What ceilings are you using I just mounted bokeshelfs with l brackets for ceilings they work but aren't directional
“.. if the wife is washing dishes”. Good on you for thinking of her with a swivel TV stand. Geez
better put a new system in the dog house
I’m still confused on how this was $10,000 maybe $7,000 at full MSRP, but there no way if you shopped around.
The custom cabinet, cabling and labor to run and do everything isn't free and part of the theater setup.
Armando Ferreira who did you use?
@@mondobytes not to mention stuff adds up quickly, 1500+ for the sub $700 for the receiver $300 for xbox $3000 for speakers and $1500 and cabinets and cables and what ever .....sounds like a deal on the labor actually. Nice clean set up
What kind of smart lights are you using with your Alexa? I'd love to set mine up so I don't have to specify a room every time I adjust the lighting.
Hi, is bose home theatre system , like the 600 and 650 any good?
All that tech and we still face the tv at the blinds. Smh. XD
Fernando Fernandez not blinds they're shutters and contrary to what the video portrays the sun doesn't hit that area.
"If the wife is washing dishes" hahahahaha. I love it! XDXDXDXD
What mic do you use, it sounds super great
How are you controlling the A/V in the room/house? Do you have a control system?
I use Star Wars as theater reference material too!
Kyle Polansky haha it's the best!
Kyle Polansky did you find a version of The Force Awakens with Dolby Atmos? The version that I have on Blu-ray has DTS Master Audio and Dolby Digital. The film has not been released in 4K yet. Or perhaps, are you getting a simulated Atmos effect through a mode on your receiver? Excellent theater and I love it!!
jedi3511 I'm actually pretty old school. My theater is set up to copy the old SkyWalker studios. So it's 'just' set up in THX with Tannoy studio monitors and a custom microperf Stewart Filmscreen. I enjoy watching the Star Wars I podrace scene despite my DVD copy only being 480p video, but hearing the pods fly around you in surround and feeling explosions from dual 18" subwoofers is pretty incredible. I would love to give Atmos a try, but there's not enough content out there yet to justify re-doing the theater.
I'm sorry Kyle, I messed up. The post was meant for Armando. Lol. I posted it wrong...
Armando Ferreira I love your theater. You mention that your demo of The Force Awakens has Atmos effects....overhead fly bys, BB8's cables shooting out. I don't know of an Atmos version of that movie. Have you found one, or are you listening to a simulated Atmos sound mode on your receiver?
Watching this on my 5 dollar Dodcy amoi setup
Very nice setup! What swivel mount are you using for the tv?
How did you get the Eco to turn off the lights without naming the room and will it work with Google home?
I love your kitchen. What, that's not the point of the video? Oh. ;-)
tv is too small or maybe is just looks small from my point of view, need to at least be a 70 or 80 inch if you gonna call it a theater, but its still a very nice and relaxing and immersive set up
Douglas Walker it’s a 65”.
Agreed, the TV is going to leave. It was the TV I had before so didn't want to spend $4,000 on a new OLED. The Atmos setup kills it and makes it seem like you're watching it on your smartphone. I'm trying to find the thinnest TV but it doesn't look like I'll be able to put anything over 70" because of the size of cabinet.
70 should be nice with that surround sound, what is your favorite tv?
How about a high-end 4k projector?
What would be the point of upgrading only by 5" ? It's one of the compromises
So can any body tell me. What is the best sound from the svs bookshelf speakers and the center vs the kilipsh bookshelf and center
Very nice, very clean, classy set up! LOVE IT!!!
Thank you!
this 18:9 Video at 1440 on my s9plus is the best Tech Combo in the World ❤❤🔥💣🔥💣🔥❤
The speakers on my iPhone 7 are still better tho xd
The video is in 1080p
Link Kakariko apple sucks bro, the only good thing are the ipads
Acoustic treatments for 10k ? Windows everywhere, no strategy for first reflection point ? Seems like a lot of money spend but not many brain bring in it.
Arthur Forgeret i thought the same...
i wasnt going that much on optics, and go first for superior acoustics and audio equipment, im even happy with my old 46“ Plasma TV (around 3m distance).
I was so happy as my 7.1 audio setup was finished with KEF speakers(2x IQ90 Front, 2x IQ30 Surround, 2x IQ50 Surround Back and 2x IQ30 in parallel next to each other as a „alternative“ Center)and a Klipsch RW-12D Woofer
from a IQ50(2.0) and stereo amp/cd player setup it took me around 3 years to get all other speakers and the woofer used for cheap, and i really love my setup since its the best i could get for „cheap“.
Hi. How’s that pioneer receiver holding up? Any problems with it? I’m thinking about getting the 303 as I can get it on amazon for $400.
what is the type of led tape backside of tv? Is it working like Philips Ambilight? How do you install it for the led tape colors on the tv screen?
Nice vid but I see some placement mistakes in your Home Theater. One should never sit so close to the rear wall.It negatively effects bass response.Try the rule of thirds. break your room up into third's. MLP should be a third of the way back from the rear wall. And front speakers a third of then way from the front wall. It looks like you got great gear. So your off to a great start.
Cmon Hector - he didnt set out to build a dedicated 2-channel listening room for the classic audiophile (a man with one chair and no friends). I give him full marks for being able to build a system his family could live with instead of having to spend 50K+ on renovations before he could even start installing sound.
Hi Arthur I see your point but as someone who has two high end room's. A two channel , and a dedicated home theater. It just kind of bug's me to see glaring mistake's. I know most regular people are more casual, and practical than Audiophile's.Having to take into consideration living situation's or even worse a Wife. But what can i say Audiophiles, and Videophile's we are obsessive about theses thing's.Take Care
Hector, I completely get the obsessive part (and it gets worse the longer one persists with this obsession) but the uploader clearly loves the overall experience and - just as importantly - his family can live with it. If I wanted to be picky, I'd nominate a larger screen for a room of this size but its not my place to dictate to the uploader how big his screen should be. Thanks for your feedback.
People that have this things don't go bragging about it like you, so go and you live with your two awesomes high end rooms and let other people alone and go fuck yourself.
Lets play nice, Hugo - it was just one man's opinion.
seems to far away from a 65 inch tv
I am no audiophile, just common sense
CoolRaul are you responding to yourself bro
SAMO 6IX no sorry I read a reply from below and thought it was for me, sorry
Agreed. For 65inch 4k, the optimal viewing distance should be around 8 feet. He seems to be too far. The image will just look like a 1080p one from where he is sitting.
where did you get your sectional? I am looking for something exactly like that.
Hi Armando. It's a really good setup for your space available. Like so much the SVS subs and I'm really impressed with those bookshelves. But you mentioned you had serious issues with those. What happened? Was a equipament problem (they aren't good) or problem with the company? Tks in advance
Is that a $500 tv? Really goes well with your $10k home stereo.
500? yeah sure
Eugénio Martins it really isn’t much more than a $500 tv
CraftyCrobatGaming Sound is more important and much more inpressive than a fantadtic tv. Fight me if you want.
Nice Sound, Crap Tv...
Hugo Conceição not crap just too small lol
i would say sound some sort of ok, and only good TV...
ToXXiC 88 Those are some fine ass speakers. I would gladly spend much more on a proper sound system and go to a cheaper tv instead Of the other way around. The problem with his setup is that the room is Very big and the sound must be really ”echoey” in there. A proper sound system is much cooler than a good looking tv.
@@bakoe7604 even my "cheap" Speakers from KEF, a systme using 2x IQ 90 as front, 2x IQ30 in parallel as center, 2x IQ 50 as surround, are better than what we see in the video, next to the positioning, what is very wrong inside the front.
But everybody as he like, so i dont care about his sound, i care about my sound in the living room and i love my KEFs
ToXXiC 88 I thought you meant the speakers and sub sucked or something. I think i missunderstood your comment. Yes, the speakers are not ideally placed.
Great great video and awesome setup man! Home looks beautiful too congrats!!! More videos of your house with the smart home features! Wish I could do this.
Plan to do more smarthome videos.
I like this design even though it may not be ideal, especially if this was just a living room setup and you had a separate home theater one. The minimalist approach in your living quarters provides a great sense of space and balance.
$10,000?!
HardCold Facts - 7000$ for the couch
Max Pawa LOL
More money than sense
10,000 for that. U got played yo.
1skintyte I bet you he included the furniture
Beautiful setup Brotha! Enjoy
turo360 thanks fam!
Did you ever figure out how to swivel mount that T101 KEF speaker? I just got em, facing the same problem
I thought I was ballin with my $1,500 Sony atmos sound bar Hahahaha
Branden Waldron ouch, im sorry for you 😬
soundbar and dolby atmos... i dont know what to think about this combination
90% depreciation when Dolby Atmos II comes out.
deekay2 jelly much?
I'm an electrician so I get the idea but can I buy a bolt on rgb strip setup for my tv and get it to do the ambient color match lighting like yours? Like if I plug it into the USB on the tv to read the data its displaying or something?
Great set up. There's nothing quite like enjoying your gaming, movies and sports viewing when it's your own set up. Especially when you put so much time and effort into it.
Can I sleep on that couch and watch movies?!
Hey at least when you come over and crash I can confirm the couch is epic
Stop showing off
You watch a channel with a guy that has camera bodies that cost over $6,000 and lenses that cost over $2,000 a piece but you think a $10,000 home theater system is all of a sudden showing off? That makes no sense. LOL
venom5809 I don't watch this channel, it shower up in my recommendations..
Be quiet and select not interested in the options if it came up in your feed SMH
Loved ur setup man...wish i had such... dreams hope they come true✌️ cheers
Armando you just made my day! Exactly what I have been looking for. I am stealing your idea with those speaker door panels! They are awesome. Thank you.
This would been nice 15 yrs ago now a days nothing special bro! You need a 4k projector and 100inch screen to go with that setup. Step your game up dude! That sectional is nice though!
jon stockton you completely missed the point.
Projector quality is garbage compared to average tvs now. A projector that will get you nice quality will run you about $50,000, which is just downright stupid. Buy an 85'' 8K tv instead if you want a bigger screen.
Jonathan King 8k TV isnt garbage?
I would better stick to FullHD and almost perfect contrast than 8k with LED crap...
Btw bigger doesnt mean better, i saw already so much 60“+ LED TVs with 4k and a shameful contrast, while my 10 year old 46“ Plasma tv still got a perfect picture, and 1080p is also more than enough for me
@@harrison00xXx Plasma degradation pretty much guarantees that the 8k tv will have better contrast than your current tv. Beyond the black/white contrast, the sharpness would make your tv look like shit, but that aside, you mentioning size not mattering when the OP comment is clearly about size and nothing else just reveals more about you than anyone needed to know.
Jonathan King ohh wow, a 500$, close to 10 years age Pana Plasma, isnt better than a acutal, 3k$ tv...
btw my black level is like new again since a friend resetted the firmware
and the colors are also awesome on a good plasma panel. Sadly with Plasmas you had the problem with hi dpi, so hi res, maybe one reason there are no plasmas anymore :(
I will go for OLed when they are more advanced, made for long lifespan and like max. 1k$
Amazing setup!
Hey Armando, I love the TV stand with the speakers . in fact I have the exact same svs . Can you tell me where you got the entertainment center from? thank you
BRUNO OUATTARA had someone build it for me
