    Very Gorgeous Bird Lawrence I dig that punchy sound of her
    I would like to try that out one day on the Ziricote or the coming Black Heart Sassafras Cittern you are building. You introduce me to wound A string I love it :) I never thought of that before :)

      Thanks Scott. I do really like the silver plated wounds. A different sound.

      @@nyberginstruments401 What Brand of strings do you use on those silver-plated classical strings .....? I have to change my string soon I like to try Nordic string style .

      @@saoirsepaddy Cool. Well for the low D I used a .052" classical string, link here www.juststrings.com/dad-nyl052w.html and for the low G I used the sixth string from a classical set. Try to find a ball end classical for that G. For the low D you have to make a single knot to lock the string in the tailpiece. And hopefully it holds :)

      @@nyberginstruments401 Cool thanks :) I woke up thinking 'What if 30 w & 56 W was silver-plated classical string with thinner phosphor bronze octave? And leave 46 straight phosphor bronze .. That would give punch to these fiddle tunes in D ?

    Thomastik Precision Mandocello Strings (w/ a High E) would give you a more percussive sound.

      Interesting thought. I believe they are loop end strings. My tailpiece does not accept them.

      @@nyberginstruments401 You might have to add some Guitar string ball ends to make it work.

    Sounds Amazing! Have you found a capo that works well with those bass strings?

    • @nyberginstruments401
      @nyberginstruments401  Год назад

      Thanks ! Hasnt dawned on me that they could pose a problm. They aren't any bigger than the phosphor bronze alternative. The challenge may be in that they're octave courses. I would imagine the thumbscrew style of capo is probably best.
