Thanks Lawrence I just can't put it down very well balance Sound -Tony the tiger would say Grrrrrrrrrrrreat !!! Blackheart Sassafras is a strange wood it like a chameleons it has this Rosewood, Mahogany & Maple tone to it Torrefied Red Spruce make it all the better I can really dig into her without braking up. I wish I could comment on your face book page sadly M.Z went Potted with his censorship jazz . so I got the boot. Blackheart Sassafras Cittern I call her Painted Pony The Ziricote Cittern you did is getting very jealous of Painted Pony. Look forward on the Sinker & Pau Ferro Cittern build you will for me :) 1000 Thanks Lawrence for doing the Blackheart Sassafras build :)
Shades of "Norwegian Wood" :) :) I've got a Tasmanian Sassafras 'egg' somewhere - got a lot of 'heart' in it! Yes, Tasmanian Sassafras is 'a strong timber but is still soft and light.' Thank you for doing two minutes of sample music; would prefer you do 3 minutes, but then I'm greedy :)
Either you don’t know what balsa wood is like or you don’t know what B/H. Sassafras is like. I live where B/h grows in Tasmania and have used it quite a lot. It is used by Peter Coombe’s, an Australian Luthier, for backs and sides. Your instrument sounds wonderful but I can’t believe you would liken B/H to balsa.
Thank you. A base price minus all the thrills for this model is $4100 USD. Upgrading to sassafras might add around $300+ depending on the set. www.nyberginstruments.com/long-scale-cittern .As a side mention, I am filling orders for late 2024 currently.
It sounds incredible 😮
Very nice! Beautiful wood choice and sound.
Thanks David!
What a bass beast! Stunning work per usual!
Thanks, man!

Aw, thanks so much, Scott. I love the tone on that pony and hope to build more with sassy. It was one of those woods that surprised me. Enjoy!

Thanks! I'm looking forward to the next time I can build with this lovely wood.

Thanks. It isn't as light as balsa, but compared to what I normally use it is the lightest. I was exaggerating about the weight.
Beautiful instrument..any idea what it would cost 🤔??
