Hi Kim, I love your technique with this set. I bought this set over 10 years ago and have used it a LOT. However, after seeing this recently, I decided to try what you did here and it turned out beautifully! I have gotten SO many compliments on my "forest" with the great snow drifts.... I made both cards and tags with my panels and plan to do more! Thanks for sharing this.
I am so impressed with your card. It is just lovely. I am 85 yrs. young and I do enjoy the process of card making. It's very challenging, but when people like you share their talent...it helps so much for people like me. TFS your God given talent to the paper crafting world.
LOVE your snowbank techniques!!! P. S. You can remove the stamp from your woodblock and attach it to your clear block with a little piece of double-sided tape. No need to buy another stamp set.
This is beautiful. My area of the country looks like this in the winter. You make it look so easy. I like looking at the cold and snow just not being out in it. Thank you for another great idea.
I love the how 3d the cards appear! You probably already know this by now since this video is older, but I watched a video of someone using artists’ blue mask and it creates perfect snow effect. I loved your card, so pretty!
Thanks for sharing that is a lovely card and so easy to make. I have had that set for years and have never used it yet. I really should use it on this card.
Beautiful piece. The Gorgeous Grunge worked great as snow. I will have to remember that trick. I saw that you had a tree mounted on wood and am sure you have seen, heard and probably done it yourself, but I put my wood mount stamps in the microwave for no more that 30 seconds and then peel them off the wood. I picked up a package of vinyl cling sheets at a local craft store and put the glue side of the stamp down on the sheet and then cut around it. They cling perfectly to the acrylic blocks. Now the question is: what to do with all the wooden blocks?????
+pandascrapper I've seen people do that with wooden stamps before. I think the wood blocks would be great for that background wood block stamping technique, or for mounting sponges on to give yourself a handle when you sponge. I keep hoping they will come out with this stamp set in Photopolymer too!
I love pine trees.you didn't put a link for that stamp set. Love the way you stamped them on the cardstock,it looked like a real scene. I felt like I was at camp. Thanks for sharing this.
The stamp set was from Stampin' Up! many years ago. This video is several years old and that set is no longer made by Stampin' Up! There are several companies that have similar sets you might like. Altenew has one for example!
Thanks for sharing this technique. I have tried to stamp a forest scene without much success. I'm going to try what you've done! You created a very pretty scene.
This is perfect, I really like what you did with this card. I am going to try to make one similar right now for a very special friend. Thank you for the video, couldn't have made this without your video.
LOVE THIS>> THANK YOU FOR THIS AWESOME TECHNIQUE.. will play.. will try the same effect with the stuff I have. Thank you. NEW subbie here. You have a very soothing voice. Cool tutorial!
When I have seen other people do this they put the embossing powder on each time they stamp so they can see where they have been. I have also seen white spatter used.
I assume this is an old card? I love it and want to buy the materials you used but cannot find this card on your blog (and I’ve search WAY back.). Can you advise me where I can find and buy the supplies you used, ie. The embossing/glitter powder. Thanks for any help you can give.
Hi Kim ~ So glad I "found" you!! Lovely as a Tree is my all time favorite SU stamp set. Like you, my first set was block-mounted, treated myself to a 2nd set and really (REALLY!) wish we could get it in photopolymer. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful technique for creating snowbanks and the creative way you created a snowfall (I also have & love Gorgeous Grunge!). I'm a new subscriber but will definitely be back for more. ~HUGS~ #kindnessmatters
Wow! I LOVE this idea! It's gorgeous! I can wait to try this. My whole family has this flu like "viral" thing! So Christmas is on hold until everyone is fever free, and not semi comatose in their own lil cubby! If I can drag myself to the Stampin room I am going to try this. I wanna do dazzling diamonds and try the stuff you showed that u squeeze out.... My mind is blank right now! Lol. But you have made me wanna stamp! I love watching your video's, you are a great teacher and I LOVE your calming, soothing voice. With no loud music and just straight to the point! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent with us!🤗🤗🤗🐞🐞🐞🤓🤓❄️🌨☃⛄️ Have a blessed Christmas! Blessings, Kim from Ky.
