It's also funny because in many other countries, children knowing more than one language is pretty common. For example, I'm a Punjabi Pakistani. I was taught to speak in Urdu while the grown-ups in my house would talk to each other in Punjabi. And I was enrolled in an English medium school since English is also an official language of my country. That adds up to 3 languages that I wouldn't have known if I wasn't taught as a kid.

I feel like as a group we can administer hard truths and 'tough love' while still supporting victims and demonstrating empathy.
