    I've watched a couple of these videos. Yours has the best lighting & camera work. Also the "little details" regarding the insulation removal is appreciated. Thank you for posting this.

    Excellent! It works, I replaced the handle on my 2007 Buick Lacrosse in about 45 minutes, the door panel clips was the more difficult part to remove. Thank you. I saved my self some money.

    Thanks for the video. I found it useful, but the part where you disconnected the cable leading to the interior latch wasn't clear; it looked like you jumped over it in the edit. I wound up just leaving the cable attached and leaned the door card against the door so I could complete the job. Surprisingly, I didn't break any of the plastic tabs removing the door card.

    Thanks, broke my daughters handle off during the recent sub zero temps. I had trouble getting the harness to disconnect so I had to work at a funny angle but managed. Good as new.

    I have been dreading this repair on my 2006 lacrosse. It broke two years ago for the exact reason you said. It has been taped on since. It looks like crap, and it still takes two hands to open the door carefully. Wish me luck!

    Thank you for this video. I was able to replace my mom's car's door handle, saving a couple hundred dollars. Unfortunately, it was unclear how you removed the black cable so I wasn't able to completely remove the door card and had to leave it attached. But so thankful for your video!

      @@rpmimprovementoutdoorservi9968 Its by far the easiest diet me and wife has ever done! I eat steak,eggs, bacon,real butter,salt and water that's it! I eat a few other animal products too sometimes like pork,deer,chicken and shrimp but, not a staple in the diet. A pound or two of fatty red meat daily is main objective. My aches,pains,depression has almost all gone away. I've lost 4 lbs and Christina has lost 9! She's gone from a 14 size pants to a 10 in just 2 weeks! All cravings for sugar and carbs are gone! Oh! We still have our coffee with heavy whipping cream. Gotta have that! Thanks for asking man! Take care!

    I live in hot Arizona mine broke and I just JB welded the well nuts back onto the door handle just taking care not to weld the bolts or any other parts. I did it just from where the handle pulled away from the door no tools required. I still ordered a new handle so when it cools off I can fix it the correct way. Works fine for now has been holding strong for a month and a half and still good.

    Where does the loose end of the rod connect at the bottom of the door?

  • @butchtheiw

    Thanks for this video. My wife's Lacrosse's handle broke, and as always, I'm expected to be Mr. Fix it. Problem is, these days there's so much extra crud in the way, I'm always afraid I'm either not going to figure out what's necessary to get it done, what tools are needed and just how to navigate the process of the "new" problem. At 62, I'm amazed at how much I've learned doesn't pertain to these new vehicles. The totally plastic handle (except for return spring and the rivet that fastens it to the handle) is just disgusting to me, considering the price of the vehicle. How the car companies can get away with this (buyer ignorance or apathy, I guess), is beyond me. But thanks for making this an easier than usual repair. Nice job. I had to come back in and check to see what I was suppose to need the vice grips for, though. I used my fingers for the handle bolt removal, but I thought I must have missed a step! Thanks again. I appreciate your effort. It helped me out.

    That my friend is not a door latch it is however a door handle. The latch is buried down inside the door and is what actually holds the door shut.

  • @AdamHelms
    @AdamHelms 3 года назад +1

    Hey man I followed this video to a T and I ran into an issue. It's worth noting I lost one of the screws for the door handle.
    Anyway, After installing the door handle on my 09 LaCrosse I tested it and the door opened, I then pulled on the latch cable from the inside and it opened. After installing the door panel the door wont open from either the inside or the outside. I know when I installed the door panel I accidentally locked the door but manually unlocked it. It's acting like it's locked. Now when I try to pull the exterior door handle it makes a noise like the spring is under a lot of tension.
    The car sat for two years so I originally thought the latch cable might have bound up but I remembered that the door lock actuator would stick in hot weather. Does it sound like my locking mechanism is jammed?

    At 4:30 you skip over the part where you’re finicking with the cable, and skip to where it’s just, off. You don’t explain how to take it off, but you explain how to put it back on

  • @richardgaynor6113

    Yeah, do you know the difference between a door handle and a latch mechanism?

  • @chaseww
    @chaseww 2 года назад +1

    you should have changed the rod plastic clip. They wear cause of the pulling open and closed on the handle, You can install a new handle but if the plastic clip is worn
    the handle would have play in it. Those plastic rod clips suck, they should be made of metal..... Of coarse not,
