you really ought to join, we're trying to keep it going but if there is no new blood it might disappear, it is an amazing resource for marshmallow gun designs
i was just thinking what if you used a larger diamitter piece befor the loader so youll get more air into the larger chamber itll compress all of the pressure into the smaller chamber due to pressure and it may shoot faster. its worth a try
This is in response to Malina. If you do. Use a tape measure to ensure you buy the right piping. In the US (supposedly) they have pvc and cpvc. you use cpvc as it has a smaller nominal bore. I accidently used pvc and that's why it only shoots 7m :P
well i think its quite clever my sons and nephews run around with their home made guns (sticks glued to sticks lol) paint this black and i think they would have a ball, nice work
@catandfalcon Range varies depending on the piping used and design of the gun, the closer the piping hole size to the mallow size the beter seal you will have and thus more air pressure behind the gun. Similarly the longer the pipe the more air pressure you can build behind the mallow, be warned though tees may reduce this pressure by having a second part that need to fill with air.
well here you need a licence too but if you go to yegers (an outdoorsman store) you pretty much walk in, choose the rifle you like, sign, then pay and you own it but for pistols it takes three days to prosess and you can buy amunition whenever. if you ever come here to washington state go to a yegers and just walk around you will eather freak out or laugh really hard
No, I don't need end caps as I have hot glued the inside to stop the marshmallows falling into the butt. As stated, the end caps are decorational. You should block the pipe up closer to the airways entry point.
@Rickehej95 --- It takes the path of least resistance, because there is no resistance towards the end of the barrel and there is resistance towards the caps, it keeps pressure from building and therefore rushes the marshmallow out the barrel without need for any extra glue. You could attempt to glue those openings, but save yourself the trouble--- dry-fit the pieces for the actual gun, and use a scrap piece of pipe (appropriate barrel length). Blow a mallow out both- they should be close.
This gun can be held in one hand... I just prefer the two. It is rather powerful, you just need good breath. Also a MM gun should be made from cpvc, which I haven't been able to source in AUS. So that detracts from its power somewhat.
There seems to be one problem, on the loading of the magazine, the weight of the marshmellows in the magazine causes 1 and 1/2 marshmellows to load in the chamber. forcing excessive pressure to be used, or a Jam. If it was not for the initial jam effect it would be a great addition to any shooter. Ps. the magazine is removable, it could get lost, making the gun.unable to fire.
PVC glue would be better than tape. That's the stuff you use to make a good seal for potato cannons. It's also kind of difficult to get a decent compressed air system made for cheap... i haven't managed it yet but give me time :P Also it's not so much a longer barrel you need... If you drilled out the T's in this so there are NO obstructions then it would be much better, the mallows hit the little ridges inside the t's and slow down a little.
@nathanr444 Consider the physics. The first mallow has to begin firing before another can be shot. So while it seems a shot gun effect it is infact a very high rpm rapid fire gun. With a long clip you could see the effects of firing a few shots and then stopping and then firing some more a lot better than with a short clip such as the one I am using here..
yeah i get your point but potato gun are alot more fun but you cant shoot people without injury but their cool cause they shoot potatos apples or whteva u want and they shoot bout 200-300 feet
Possibly not, but I wouldn't risk my pipe. Besides there's not a proper seal and chamber for combustion, It would require a lot of changes to the design and then would possibly not work anyway.
The measurements aren't need, they are merely for this sized gun you can elongate or shorten it as feels comfortable. I laid the pieces out on the ground and tried to kind of pretend to hold the imaginary gun to see if it was too long and thus my arms would be too stretched or if it was too short (cramped)
Bought one at the local canoe marathon fair. If you block off all of the airways with nickles and put the marshmallow in the mouthpeice and let it travel alll the way through and out, i got mine to shoot about twenty feet.
has any one tried to attach a flaming piece to the end of the barrel so that once the marshmallows have left the barrel the kinda melt and stick to the target because whenever i tried the marshmallow doesnt melt fast enough
should of gotten a 2 liter bottle. hooked it up to the bottom where your *stock is* and put a tire pump nipple on the back of the bottle. pull the back of the stock off and put a stopper thing.. put 40 psi in it and let that lever go and you get some badass dangerous marshmallow blaster.
Haha, that would be really unweildy... Of course I have made a MM shooter that technically is 20m long and the MM's come out extremely fast and they could probably bruise...
@SuperInverted chill...man it shoots marshmallows nothing to get upset about and yeah its a gun but not all guns are illegal Airsoft BB GUn Paintball gun Potato Launcher Waterguns all shooot stuff its not that big of a deal
The best measurements that i have are the ones I gave in the video. You really just have to lay the fittings out to the size you like and then take a measurement.
u friggin rule! awesome gun, awesome t shirt! XD yea...i've been gettin way into marshmallow guns lately. i put a laser sight thingey at the end of mine =] yers is way cooler tho. think i'll make another
its nice to see one person who understands the clip idea
you really ought to join, we're trying to keep it going but if there is no new blood it might disappear, it is an amazing resource for marshmallow gun designs
That was absolutely awesome. Thank you Polar Bear
I love the design. Good on you mate!
it is a grav loader, most magazines go on the bottom and are usually spring loaded
i was just thinking what if you used a larger diamitter piece befor the loader so youll get more air into the larger chamber itll compress all of the pressure into the smaller chamber due to pressure and it may shoot faster. its worth a try

I tried to set up a compressed air system but gave up due to needing a triggering system and I was too slack to make/adapt one.
If you really want to then yes they are good, they can add or detract from the appearance depending on what sort of look you are going for.
Try to make a trigger/tank assembly for compressed gas/air... it's pretty hard to do it for cheap.
well i think its quite clever my sons and nephews run around with their home made guns (sticks glued to sticks lol) paint this black and i think they would have a ball, nice work

You are like the Martha Stewart of firearms, but with more awesome. "And that was a mosquito." Sic semper mosquitos. Keep up the good work.
The gravity fed clip?
It's simple enough, But I want to try to get a better working bottom fed clip. My current design for this sucks.
@nathanr444 Consider the physics. The first mallow has to begin firing before another can be shot. So while it seems a shot gun effect it is infact a very high rpm rapid fire gun. @ SuperInverted it shoots marshmallows. What damage can it do. And a cop wont shoot right away
I did have end caps....?
Also, here in AUS an end cap is upwards of $1.
@MrTheArmyMan
1/2" The closer to the size of the marshmallows the better as you can build more pressure behind the mallows
yeah i get your point but potato gun are alot more fun but you cant shoot people without injury but their cool cause they shoot potatos apples or whteva u want and they shoot bout 200-300 feet
Mine just feed straight down. If the hole where the clip meets the barrel is too small it will jam.
jolly good show, havent been active for a while have you?
Possibly not, but I wouldn't risk my pipe. Besides there's not a proper seal and chamber for combustion, It would require a lot of changes to the design and then would possibly not work anyway.
it would be cool to use a valve and use a co2 bottle or a soda bottle. but nice job you could still use the frame and glue the stuff.
I love how you were all "This one's a problem" *chomp*
I'm so going to make one of these I think :)
About $25 because of the high cost of the pvc pipe fittings here in Aus.
The measurements aren't need, they are merely for this sized gun you can elongate or shorten it as feels comfortable. Make sure you get some pressure rated pvc and you will be right. Use pvc glue and primer to join the joiners to the pipes. No explosions :P
Your shirt is amazing.
@TKSiate I got mine from Bunnings but most hardware stores should have it.
Eumundi Markets headed back north from Brisbane. 'The T-shirt Dude' is the name of the lot who I bought it off.
Haha, glad you like the videos.
I will eventually make more, but at the moment I am vlogging over at universityofawesome.
@elbatproductions How long have you had them? Pretty sure you can't buy them anymore.
the old paintball guns have grav mags like that.
Thanks :P
I'm making a new video soon and I'll have a new way to make these guns that for me works out to be way cheaper...
has any one tried to attach a flaming piece to the end of the barrel so that once the marshmallows have left the barrel the kinda melt and stick to the target because whenever i tried the marshmallow doesnt melt fast enough
That looks awesome! Good one!

You can just get lengths of pipe (I buy in meter lengths) and cut it with a copper pipe cutter.
Haven't been up there in years XD
It has no roof.... plus I'm too tall to stand in it if it had one.
Instructional. Heard of it before? Different to demonstrational
Yup, awesome board that they are, they have been a little dead recently...
Cool... I had to film that at like 5 pm so there was a lot of bugs around.
I plan to make a sniper soon with like bolt action firing :P
nice and you can attach some extra parts and make it a potato gun but shooting Marshmallow
how bro I live on the central coast NSW. where is a decent place to buy PVC pipes in aussie. lol I cant be bothered to look.
Thanks, and good luck!
would be nice if you made it to shoot like a spud gun :)
Haha, that would be really unweildy... Of course I have made a MM shooter that technically is 20m long and the MM's come out extremely fast and they could probably bruise...
looks sweet
haha i love the mango tree in the background
XD
Yeah, good times in there when I was young.
wow thats a pretty awesome looking gun lol
This was posted on my bday :D
i will get you a sugestion put the marshmaloows in a small bottle take down the strooper and atach it where you put the pipe with the marshmallows
that pretty cool gum
WHERE DO YOU GET ALL THIS STUFF!!!!!
i wonder if i could use air from a air cannon hook it up nd den start bursting out marshmellow ? hmmm
thats cool im an american so eh thats different to me. lol is it legal to own regular guns there?
I am TRYING to get a maths degree! Stop distracting me with awesome stuff! :P
6:08 lol
"I think there's a problem with my marshmallows.."
Holy shit that's a lethal weapon of mass destruction. Not even chuck norris can do a shit with this ....
i wanted to watch another video but i took a marshmellow to the eye
i wouldnt call that a "rapid fire marshmallow gun" more like a marshmallow shotgun
Yes, because a bunch of marshmallows melted in pvc pipe is just what I wanted...
@brandonf90 basicly the tunnel effect
Nice T-shirt
@majtur Australia mate. No airsoft guns here.
darn you made me hungry,I WANT MARSHMELLOWS!!!
u need like a paint ball hopper and like a co2 can
anyway... i don't think it will melt before it get out of there..
good to see another aussie vid :D
if you could manage to get flaming marshmallows in and out of that thing it would cause some major damage o_o
Great vid! Thx for the help :)
@OoOPolarbearOoO with the right material and gun powder you could
my favorite parts of this video were your shirt and when you ate the deformed marshmallow
omnomnom ahaha
@SuperInverted
Laws against a mallow gun? WTF
@SuperInverted chill...man it shoots marshmallows nothing to get upset about and yeah its a gun but not all guns are illegal Airsoft BB GUn Paintball gun Potato Launcher Waterguns all shooot stuff its not that big of a deal
Like I said before, this is for general 'safe' fun. Mainly kids and kids at heart.
cool, im gunna make 1
No it didn't shoot very far, i discussed that in some of my comments if you felt like clicking through and reading them all :P
I did tape it together, I just didn't film that. Listen around 5:00 and I say I will tape it together because I haven't glued it.
nice man goooood job!
3 feet only, the cat will laugh the whole day..
Potato cannons have been done to death. With this you can shoot at friends, have fun with kids (shoot them) and have general 'safe' fun.
Thanks :D
Actually it is rapid fire. It fires one shot after the other. In extremely rapid succesion.
the tshirt dude in Australia.
The best measurements that i have are the ones I gave in the video. You really just have to lay the fittings out to the size you like and then take a measurement.
Wow did not expect that lol.
u friggin rule! awesome gun, awesome t shirt! XD
yea...i've been gettin way into marshmallow guns lately. i put a laser sight thingey at the end of mine =]
yers is way cooler tho. think i'll make another
@hungryTACO115 looks like you've been watching too much RWJ
Yes it is and it's quite sad.
@jamarcusjones that's right.
Kick ass shirt! I want it!
