    Gareth, I actually feel really emotional to think an MP has the public's best interests at heart.
    There's not many of you Gareth who care one iota for the British people so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
    Khan is an absolute dictator and needs to be removed from office asap.

    I've just started my gardening business and need to buy a van, now instead of looking at £5k I'm currently looking at £12k because of ulez and I simply cannot afford these numbers even with a finance. Gareth you're doing great work! It's a shame we cannot undo this madness in its entirety. Also what you said about the mayors and local authorities being a dictatorship, 💯 it's outrageous what they're doing knowing that the public do NOT support them.

      If they don’t take the cameras down, the increasing likelihood is that 100,000+ very annoyed and otherwise law abiding members of the British public will start taking matters in to their own hands, as is already happening. This issue will force every day ordinary people to do very out of the ordinary things. I don’t know how he sleeps at night knowing that his actions will destroy families and the livelihoods of so many decent British citizens. Shame on you Sidiq Khan, the eyes of the British public are focused on you like the sun shining through a magnifying glass, can you feel the heat yet?

    The position of Mayor of London is far too powerful from an executive point of view. The position needs to be stripped of a great deal of political decision-making and restricted to the apportionment of the budget that is pre-approved by ministers.

    Well said, Sir. But according to Khan, “poor people don’t own cars.”
    This sort of dictatorship, that needs no referral to parliament or to the people, is utterly unacceptable. Khan should be arrested.

    If Sadiq Khan is truly concerned about the toxic and poisonous air quality in London, then he should be seriously addressing the unhealthy air quality on the London Underground, which was rated at an AQI of 183 and at another station at 240, which is rated as 'very unhealthy' !! 5 million people use the London Underground every day - need I say anymore !!!

    Another factor that seems to be ignored when it comes to the ulez charges, is this, the £12.50 charge is the “introductory charge” . What will it be in a couple of years from now? £15.00 or maybe £20.00 or more? Any scheme has to be maintained from engineering to administrative costs, which will doubtless increase year on, year on.

  • @spotastar

    Sadiq Khan’s, to reduce toxic air by expanding the ULEZ to greater London will not work.
    He doesn’t really care about toxic air quality and here is why:
    - He has already made the toxic air far worse since he has introduced the LTN’s which have increased the toxic air on the main roads because we are forced to use them as there are no other alternatives, especially during rush hour. The roads are now grid locked with traffic moving at walking pace and the fumes are getting denser and not dispersing. LTN’s need to be reopened as it is causing more damage than good.
    Among all this, the mileage in vehicles has also increased due to the fact that we are forced to go the long way round to get to the required destination - all accumulating to even more emission being emitted! Bravo Sadiq & team.
    - The health for pedestrians and children as they walk along these main routes to get to stations, schools, shops is deteriorating. Even the drivers inhale more fumes when we are stuck in stationary traffic. This is really aggravating and makes no sense!
    - Cycle Lanes: Should not be taking up an extra lane of the roads, large pavements could be divided into two for cyclists.
    - The introductions of 20MPH roads are also a problem because emission fumes don’t disperse quickly and the air is getting even more polluted because of the need to drive in lower gears.
    Sadiq’s statement: “It is to reduce toxic air pollution” is clearly not accurate and is making matters worse. The situation is getting extremely out of hand and something needs to be done to stop him from ruining our climate even more. He should resign and Londoners should vote for someone who will make London a greater and more desirable place to live in. There needs to be a more logical and strategic plan that is well thought.

    Road charging of some sort throughout Greater London has been kicking around as policy at least since your dishonourable friend Boris Johnson was Mayor. When and in what form would the Conservatives introduce it?
    And what about the various flavours of CAZ in other cities, which again unfairly punish those who can least afford to pay the charge never mind change their car? Will you repeal the regulations that give Whitehall powers to nod through local councils' CAZ proposals regardless of public hardship?

    Further to my last comment relating to the disturbing poor unhealthy air quality of the London Underground - it does seem very odd that Sadiq Khan appears to be doing nothing to improve the air quality of the London Underground but he is very keen to charge me £12.50 every day to use my vehicle when driving in the London Borough of Havering, with an AQI, between 1 - 50, with a rating of 27, rated as 'good'. This unnessary expansion of the ULEZ to all the Outer London Boroughs is nothing more than a cash grab!

  • @user-sf7kl9uh7k

    Clean air is a basic right. TFL needs money, we may as well let them get it in a way that actually benefits everyone.

    • @fluxington
      @fluxington Год назад +2

      If you had followed this scandal for long enough, you would know that in outer London, the air quality is absolutely fine and therefore the ULEZ is nothing to do with health. No benefit, just a cash grab. Do you drive?

    • @user-sf7kl9uh7k
      @user-sf7kl9uh7k Год назад

      @@fluxington Yes, and I'm obsessed with cars. I do have an issue with Euro 4-5 diesels however. The sooner they're scrapped the better IMO. So if this helps speed that up, it's got to be good.

    • @fluxington
      @fluxington Год назад

      @@user-sf7kl9uh7k Then if you're obsessed with cars, how come you don't fully understand the issue? There is more air pollution on the underground than in ANY of the outer London boroughs. It's a scam - and you support it.
