Great playing and wonderful tunes. Real, everlasting music.
I had this playing this morning as I watered my garden. A neighbour pop in and asked "who is that playing" after realising I was holding a hose! I have found that many, many non-Scots love our music

This is our mother’s brother. Eleanor and Ernie played in the family band, along with brothers Bob and Sandy in the 1950s. Ernie continued to play, with a total of 7 albums, we have CDs of anyway. A prolific player locally, well into his latter years. Thank you for the memories.

My gran and grandad introduced me to his music when I was very young (now 29). The local cobbler in Montrose used to sell the cassettes. I still have some cassettes and the old tape player that we used to listen to Ernie on. So although the memories may have different meanings to us both, the love for his music is the same.

What a great sound from Ernie. His old fashioned playing style is just a treat and his version of The Two Dugs is gorgeous. Of course the magic sound of the Marino box is everything. Loved it.

I am sure I have track 6 somewhere - the first part sounds like the Tobermory Twostep - which is one of my favourites. But its on and old unlabelled tape - and the 3rd tune is also familiar "Wind that shook the Piggery" - or I may be confused!

Matthew...an addition.....I am awfully delighted about the TUNES IN THE HOOSE!!! Exactly the RIGHT THING,to give the trad style the worldwide revival it deserves!!!
I myself ve been listening to SDM since the 50s.( hence my nickname)
And you are from Edinburgh.I have two friends in EH, working in the scene and yes...we are great fans of the Tim Wright Band!!!
But a request.....what are the names of the three tunes you play with Graeme Whitehead?(tunes in the hoose)WONDERFULL STUFF!!!

Pretty sure my grandparents got his tapes out of the cobbler at the south end of the high street. He was well known in Montrose.
