Absolutely brilliant player i put my honeymoon on hold to go and l see him one night in the town hall of montrose to see him play wo the royal clansmen and what a brilliant night it was and loved his music since and have every record he has made and just love listening to him and just wish i could play with him now as i have played alot of his tunes RIP Arthur
When I was a teenager ~ Arthur was a young star accordionist playing small theatres in Scotland including Winter Gardens, Rothesay, my hometown, all of all the accordionists playing in Scotland, I loved his tone of music and expertise on the accordion. I purchased his first long playing album, and the next two (and still have them in NZ now) . I moved to Glasgow to work in 1963 and was then able to see and hear him at more Scottish venues including The Metropole and Pavilion in Glasgow. I was 'avid' fan - but when I migrated to NZ in 1973 - lost touch with him. Unbeknown to me - he migrated to Australia and only recently found him on RUclips. I was saddened to learn he passed away as recently as 2017 ~ and discover he was only 2 years older than me. Arthur was to me the greatest musician in my young life growing up in Scotland and now can listen to all his wonderful music here without seeking my old albums on my even older record player! Thanks Arthur for giving me so much pleasure ~ RIP - Jamie Shedden, Auckland, NZ
Thank you for your lovely words and memories of Arthur, he would have appreciated it so much. He was a good man and missed by us all. Hope you are still enjoying the great music coming out of Scotland by all the very talented players there now Jamie, best wishes Mrs Ray Spink x
That's correct it was jonny victorys breath of Scotland show..by the time I was going it had changed to the bonnie Scotland show that's someone has uploaded live at the whitehall.. Arthur sings, jokes and plays class accordion.. The tapes got sold at the show.. If I'm critical it seemed hurried, but when I think wht the recording gear would have been, the sound men done well, even when it's just a duet with Arthur and my grandad.. #memoriesforlife

Methinks that should be Stuart Anderson.

Arthur worked for a time with the great Wil Starr in the Royal Clansman Show, and even Will, thought Arthur "the greatest
