    Nick! So glad to see your content again! Nothing wrong with change! The people that support you (myself included) love your content for not only your content but for you as a person and your personality! If it's woodworking builds, or builds with various materials, you have a fan right here for whatever it is you decide to create/work on/post. Thanks again for all that you do and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us in 2019. I'm excited to see it! Cheers! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

      I really appreciate that - it means a lot to me to hear - it’s tough putting the videos together many times and it’s comments like this that motivate me

    I personally find these theatre builds fascinating, especially when you make something look real when it's not, that requires real talent.
    “It’s A Wonderful Life” is one of my favourite films, it would be great to see it as a play.

      Thanks - I just released a video probably five or six hours ago and in that video I talk about the editing a little bit involved making these RUclips videos - I have tons of footage from that play and I think I could make two or three really interesting videos but the editing takes too long and I’m getting really bored with it - i’m much more suited to be in the shop rather than in the office

    Hello Mr. Ferry It is so cool you give back to your community This takes me back when my daughter did the theater build in her High School. Half the boys could not drive a screw in. They ask her, how learn do to this? Proud as I can be, as she was telling me., Watching my dad in the garage or around the house. Thanks for bringing back good memories.

    • @NickFerry
      @NickFerry  5 лет назад +1

      Very proud moment for sure - I hear you 100% - I couldn’t be happier passing things along to my kids - like when my 6 year old was explaining the process of sublimation to his classmates and that he learned it from his dad - I get weird looks from time to time, okay that happens a lot, but that’s not my point - I don’t dumb down things in life just because they’re younger - I think many folks underestimate what a child can comprehend

    Nick....I think that projects using a variety of materials would be really cool! Often, projects call for a part that's noted on scribbled plans as 'Magic happens here!' while we scratch our heads looking for a solution...because the first instinct is to make *everything* out of wood. In showing your projects using dissimilar materials, you may very well solve a lot of those types of problems, or inspire somebody to stretch a bit! ...and when you said "... using animatronics!" you certainly got my attention, since I just retired from a fifty year career in electronics! Bring it on!! :-)

  • @scotttovey

    Hmm, the only way I can think to get around the last minute projects you cannot set up the camera for is to use a high def multiple security camera system. This won't help you on remote shoots, you would need a camera man to get around those issues.
    Just set up each of the cameras to a work station and plug them into the DVR for continuous recording. You will have to toy with the zoom and focus a bit, but you should be able to get all the video you need from there on out.
    If you decide to try this, start with a single camera to see if it will work out as this may be one of those: "sounds good on paper" ideas that doesn't fly.

    • @NickFerry

    Hi Nick, I'm fairly new to your channel but love the direction you intend to go. I do some set work as well and am looking forward to your videos on this subject. I'm very interested in seeing your joinery for stability with high platforms such as the bridge. I make my living as a tech director for educational theatre outside Philly; it's great to see other woodworkers out there doing Theatre! That's a really cool space; there aren't many dedicated thrust spaces out there. You didn't build that ALL by yourself, did you??

    • @NickFerry
      @NickFerry  5 лет назад

      very cool - then you know how many different talents and disciplines are involved with theater - that's why I love it so much - from writers, designers painters, actors, lighting designers and the list goes on - I built the majority of it by myself - I will be putting a video together about the bridge for sure - I had a good amount of help setting it back up but initial construction was pretty much me

I would love to see more videos about set building and props if you get into them I did Props for Mary Popins and Into the Woods and had a blast! Since its hard to setup a tripod on stage during load in and build how about a bird's eye view time lapse?

      @@NickFerry You came up in conversation last night. You know "Gizmo" and Sue Malecki, and Randy Abitz. All very good friends of mine. Your videos are really awesome! You are very very talented. All very organized, very well put together! I plan on watching a lot more of your videos.
