- Located in Rutherford county, this State Park offers some of North Carolina's most dramatic mountain scenery, overlooking Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure. Join us as we leave our kayaks behind and take a hike on some strenuous trails to a 315 foot freestanding rock spire and then to the base of a 404 foot cascading waterfall.

Absolutely beautiful. I loved all the lookouts and the waterfalls. A lot of steps. They could do with a coffee shop half way up. I really enjoyed the premiere, loved the swooping and the twirls, thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.

The lizard is what we call a salamander
Wow what a great moment at 5:13, but it was the journey and effort to get there that means the most. I like that Exclamation Point!! It puts an ! on your hike. Wow you guys didn't stop there! You guys got rewarded with a nice waterfall. You guys are great together! It's an amazing place to visit✨✨

The views from the rock were fantastic but the highlight for me was definitely getting off the main path to the waterfall!

I love hiking and I used to to that when I was still single. My priorities just change and it is not easy to travel without own vehicle this side. Thanks for the adventures and continue it.

When we went.We took the elevator to the gift shop.Walked the stairs the resy of the way up.What a work out for a Senior.Wish we had time to explore the other trails.Would loved to stay there five days.The local food left alot to be desired.

I am fascinated by the wonderful landscape and amazing rock formations. That was an extreme climbing yet very exciting to watch. Glad you guys made it to the top. The incredible view is worth the struggle, so beautiful and a once in a lifetime experience.

The views as you said were already amazing when you arrived at the car park. OMG! Those stairs. Lots of crevices and caves. The views were amazing from the top. Ice cream was a good reward. More great views from Opera Rock. Yes, it does look like. Devil's head. 7:13 is a little harmless Skink. Lovely Forest as you make your last ascent. Peregrines Point, was definitely worth the climb! Quite a challenging walk to the Hickory Nut Falls. The Falls are spectacular!❤🌿 Thank you for taking us on your hiking adventure. Awesome. 👍🏼🙏🏼🤠❤

Now that was one scenic park for sure and even better bridge swoops and twirls too! need to watch your head in that cave - owtch! Good to see there were no bears in the cave mind and that was some steps to get up to the viewing point and more caves....and more steps, nice way to keep fit. Have to say the view at Exclamation Point was superb and a real nice walk on the Skyline Trail with stunning views and even better no more stairs lol! Head bang apart that looked like a great hike with the bonus of that waterfall, man that was a real beast, what an amazing sight to beyond! I bet you were sick of those steps when you got back to the car, cheers Alan

The passage was pretty narrow in the cave but really interesting to see. Lots of stairs would be such a workout. Oh wow the views are awesome! Gorgeous place at the top with the greenery that goes on forever! This would wipe me out! Yes I did see the devils head! You made it!!! What a nice hiking adventure to this amazing place. Wow 500 steps to reach on top instead of riding the elevator. Nice adventure wow your on top now amazing view. More walking and hiking extra careful and follow instructions is the best.
