When traveling far, having access to the club lounge and a fold down seat bed makes a big difference. Cuts down on the jet lag and you're more well rested when you land. Some of these club lounges have showers and a quiet place to nap in between long connection
Loved this video, especially all the walking. Truly made it feel like it was me at the airport going through the motions of leaving the hotel/check in/boarding etc. So sorely needed this during this time!! Love from Brisbane.
The worst part is that if you went from a shitty hotel to a first class hotel the difference would be $400. On an airline, it's thousands! And you are buying the same service travel from A to B, but just a couple of feet of more room and better food. First Class and Business Class are the biggest scams.
smasila I don't see how it's a scam when you are making a conscious decision to pay more with full knowledge of what benefits you are receiving. A scam would be paying more and not receiving what you expect.
smasila do you know how much it cost to have an unlimited amount of things on a huge menu. Sometimes the pilots will even cook your meal onboard. It's like your in a desert, but it's not dry and you have unlimited food. And if you don't like the offer, then that's your problem cause a lot of people do
You're spoiling us here! Another brilliant upload! Bet the turbulence ruined some of the fun whilst having lunch. CX meals look delicious. The full flat bed with mattress looked very comfortable as well!
Thank you for watching again and the comment. The turbulence was annoying, but it did not stop me from enjoying myself. The food was fantastic and the service wonderful, I would recommend CX anytime.
wow the service and the ambience of cathay's first class looks simply amazing. But really the Hong Kong airport is one heck of it. too much of walk before you are able to get on board. Great video thumbs up.
As someone who can only travel slum class, your videos make me shamelessly and unpleasantly jealous. But they are very well produced, inclusive and a pleasure to watch. Thanks.
Well produced! you must be joking! 8 minutes walking through the airport between the lounges included a detailed view of 5 escalators. A 3-4 minute pursuit of a staff member pulling a trolley through the terminal. Yes, excellent flight review. Didn't watch the rest as I feared it would be the same as the first 13 minutes.
i have seen limos take 1st class to their plane to the boarding walk to get on the plane on a private walk way into the plane i think he got cheated and that little 1st class seat is nothing compared to other A380 they have full APTS for 1st class with limo service
Love the ATC inclusion. Walking in HKIA is good after lounges plus all the scenery & aircraft. You can catch a train from near Immigration A 'upstream' or just HK$70 for shuttle cart, which is always fun.
Exactly and it should have a butler , someone to assist in my bath and a 12 course snack, breakfast, lunch and dinner of the highest quality AND a private fully private apartment with wall to wall carpet and central air, 3 times a flight massage and music piping in. Following up with a driver waiting to take me directly off the plane in a stretch limo to my door and unload and carry my baggage to my door and deposit them in my bedroom and finally unpack and hang my clothes in the closet!
mesmerizing inflight service. I have the unstopable feeling of a cultivated way to travel long distances watching this. cathay pacific one of the worlds best Airlines. thank you wittw
I flew Sydney to London with my 7 yr old son and I don’t remember being fed that often . I was cattle class of course but even our stop over in Singapore in the middle of the night there wasn’t anywhere to buy food. It was in the 90’s but still lol
Yes, the crew as well. To b seated to save them...I have been apart of that on our 747-400s going to Hong Kong. I was Purser/Chief and I would get on the PA and tell the crew please take your seats...Sometimes I would be with 16 or 18 F/As with me...Those were the years of flying. But it looks like you had a great flight back then on this flight..
Just as the soup arrives, so does the turbulence. Making it incredibly difficult to eat I'm sure. A great video from a travel vlogger I've only just discovered on RUclips. On a side note... as someone who lives in Norwich, it's good to see Cathay Pacific use Colemans Mustard :)
I’ve been on a similar flight on American/Cathay through the OneWorld Alliance from LAX-HKG-BKK or BMK(Bangkok) and it was well worth the $10+K. I would definitely recommend it and fly American and Cathay again on a long haul flight. The flight attendants were wonderful. The individual seat “pods” were relaxing and private. They also provide very nice amenities like a full set of pajamas, slippers, eye shades, ear plugs and designer toiletries kit. It was actually the first time that I’ve ever been able to sleep on an aircraft. Typically I travel coach or business domestically in the continental US and this was definitely worth the bump in fare for the length of my flight. If I remember correctly LAX-HKG was around 16 hours, then an extra 3 hours of flight time to Bangkok. Additionally, there was a separate jetway to board the upper deck on the forward portion of the 747 which was much nicer than boarding in “steerage.” Overall, an exceptional experience with an highly competent crew which provided excellent service. For those who haven’t; you should put this experience on your “bucket list.” Thanks for the video and pleasant memories...👍🏼
I flew first class on Cathay from HK to NYC. There was no yogurt for breakfast and they had to get me one from econ or crew meal. When I fly first class I want my yogurt for breakfast!😂
Wow Regal Hotel! I stayed there when I was in Hong Kong! Great hotel but I found the rooms dated and smelled dusty! Great location to the airport though! Great video too! Hopefully one day, I can fly Cathay First too!

Another great trip report. I heard a lot of great things about the lounges in the Hong Kong Airport and glad you were able to share your personal experiences.
So basically $1,000 per hour on the plane after walking 10,000 miles to get there I believe Cathay Pacific should be reading the comments about the ridiculous mileage you have to walk to get to them I'm not lazy mind you but you are paying for first class service which to me should start the minute you get to the airport or the minute you booked the flight even just saying
Since I am new to watching the showing of the airways lounges, and inside the first class acomidations, business class and economy class, inside the various airlines I do have a couple of questions. First question, since you are videoing first class, did you have to pay the full ten grand, or was your flight ticket discounted by the airline because you are featuring their airline? Second question you have to pay extra for the food, and drinks in the first class lounge, or is this cost covered in the price you pay for the ticket? With all that food presented to you on your travels, I'm surprised you don't weigh 300 pounds! Your seat compartment was nicely private and equipped, and apparently the service was good. I've watched videos of similar flights with similar or less accommodations that cost $15,000, so this was a relative bargain. But I have made the comment before that unless I had unlimited resources, I would opt for Economy on the 12-hour flight and use the money saved for several days in a good hotel with fine dining. Those sprawling airports are for the young and fit with a small carryon, and the many escalators in Hong Kong would make it difficult for those with mobility issues. Those in wheelchairs would spend extra time seeking out the elevators. All very interesting! Those that get bored with takeoffs and landings can simply fast forward through them.

Just excellent as usual. Thank you. One day, somebody will come to that walking those long distances in airports to get from A to X is unacceptable, especially for seniors, and completely change airport design. Just saying.

Great video, as usual. However, I was worn out by the time we got to the Pier Lounge; how long did it take? Looked as if you were travelling with only one bag a carry on sized suitcase, Do you always travel as light as that?
Thanks for watching and the comment, I have a shorter version of this video online. Yes I just take a small carry on suitcase and back pack for my laptop. I travel as light as possible all the time.
Thank you, From my own personal experience I have always enjoyed Cathay Pacific, I really enjoyed the Service with Etihad & Singapore airlines, Japan airlines was also exceptional.
I've been sitting here watching your videos for hours and it's so hard to stop watching. First class travel really is grand.
I love it when the plane ascends above the clouds, the sky is such an amazing shade of blue.
Yes its always the best part of a take off.
I have to say, the flight attendants are SUPER talented. To serve soup during turbulence and not spill a drop is super impressive. Well done!
Yeah they have some skills, thanks for watching and the comment.
This is one of the best rapport on YT. Strangely soothing. Lovely idea attaching the camera to the suitcase :)
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching

Oh my god. The absolute dream! Flying economy with Cathay in April, those seats are going to feel a lot smaller after seeing this video!!!
True they might feel smaller, but CX in economy is still much better than other airlines, Have a great flight.
Thank you I love this video. Thanks for not talking and understanding that it's not about you, but the experience. Good job
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
Very calm and clear ATC instructions.Makes a nice change.

omg that is a view you never ever get tired of seeing. That sky is so beautiful and the clouds...breathtaking.
I agree with you there.

HKG is a huge airport and I always seem to land at one end of it and my connecting flight is on the opposite end
Flown a lot in my time and HKG-LHR seems to be the route I repeatedly get the most turbulence on, especially over around Urumqi and Russia
