Seriously, like Michigan doesn't have Brooks and Brown coming out of nowhere to score 20 each against LSU. Dickinson, Wagner, Smith and Johns... Michigan has dudes, too. Every single game...Michigan is going to lose, then they win easily.

Yep, Franz is an NBA player. Dickinson is an NBA player. Livers was/is a likely NBA player. Then around Hunter and Franz you have 3 senior leaders and Mr. Everything's in Brooks, Smith, and Brown, not to mention Johns Jr. who is a versatile player with sneaky skills who is stepping up. Put it simply, if Michigan plays solid D and team offense as they did against FSU, UCLA doesn't have a chance. But, if Michigan brings the energy they had against Illinois a few weeks ago, UCLA can definitely more than hang.

I'm happy with the UCLA matchup. I didn't want any of the Bama smoke. Not that I thought Michigan can't win against Bama but you do your best to avoid super athletic teams that can make it rain at any given moment like Bama can.

The way I look at it, you need at least 2 NBA players to win an NCAA tournament. Even with Livers out, Michigan has 2 and possibly 3 and UCLA has 2. So it comes down to the other players. Michigan basically plays seniors, a junior and a sophomore. And they have a backup center who was actually starting before he got hurt this year who is really good as well and the sophomore is Franz Wagner who will be in the NBA next year. I think Michigan's greatest strength is that any player they play can get you 20 points on any given night. In some cases they will have two 20 pt scorers and the rest will all be in double digits as well.

Yes, MSU took a game off them, but that was with Livers just getting hurt (I believe), a rivalry game, and the conference wrapped up (Also, believe). I really don't know what to expect with UCLA. I don't think UCLA has a player that can contain Dickinson. I think the only way UCLA can slow him down is if they double team him which will leave someone open on the perimeter. Michigan is very patient and very good at finding the open man. If Michigan's shots are falling I don't see how UCLA can win this game. If they had longer to prepare for Michigan to come up with a game plan I think it would benefit UCLA, but going into this game with only one day to prepare will be rough. My prediction I think UCLA will try to double team Dickinson in the post in the first half and that will lead to open shots for Michigan. If they decide to play Dickinson man to man in the 2nd half he will end up eating them up in the paint. It is gonna be pick your poison for UCLA. Really it all depends on if UCLA can slow down Michigan's post game. If they can find a way to shut down Dickinson in the paint then UCLA has a chance.

You did not watch the 2nd round game? BYU has a 7'3 NBA prospect and a 6'10 forward. For big line ups like that UCLA plays their 7 footer Kenneth Nwuba at center. He's a defensive specialist, not a good scorer though.
@@vinrusso821 Well that is up to UCLA if they want to sacrifice their scoring to put another big on Dickinson. The thing is Dickinson has been playing against top bigs all season in the B10 so he is very skilled against other big men. Gonna be interesting to see how UCLA chooses to play against him.

UCLA needs to hope for foul trouble to hit multiple key Michigan players, an off shooting night for Michigan, an "on" shooting night for themselves, and they need Juzang and Jaquez to BOTH have really efficient 20+ point scoring games. They need a lot of things to go right to have any kind of chance.

UCLA have a 7 footer Kenneth Nwuba that only plays against big line ups. RD 2 against BYU he played really well. BYU has a 7'3 center and 6'10 forward. Nwuba is a great rebounder and shot blocker but can't score a lick.

The point everybody is missing is michigan's defense
Michigan is too tough in their front line. And that backcourt uh it will be great game but if Michigan plays like they did against FSU the only team with advantage is Gonzaga but then Gonzaga really has not been tested. I thought with Livers out of the lineup Michigan would not have made it this far but they're deep and Juwan has great grip on the situation. I thought Illinois in beginning was biggest threat. Big Ten had bad luck but Michigan has avoider that. I would say right now they are in great position. But it's the tournament and UCLA and Oregon State have proven anyone can win.
I’m not taking UCLA lightly. Any team can win any night in the tournament. I think Michigan will win, but you never know in March.

I gotta say, i think FSU is way tougher than UCLA. Michigan handled them in the paint like it was the JV vs the varsity. good takes tho.. Michigan will win by 8 to 12 points

Any school can get hot, but if MICH showcases the defense that they've shown, I will take them on the money line (ML).
Yeah Michigan is probably going to dominate the paint. But UCLA is like 6 deep in shooters, play tough perimeter defense, and don't turn the ball over. Thats a recipe for success against anyone in my opinion. What do yall think?

Michigan can play any style. UCLA wants to slow it down, no problem. LSU wanted to run on Michigan, didn’t work. Fl St has one of the best post defenses in the nation, Michigan got layups the entire game, while splashing jumpers. Don’t bet against Michigan folks.

They obviously did not watch UCLA play BYU in RD 2. Cronin can play small or big. BYU is similar to Michigan ,both have big guys. Kenneth Nwuba will be the center and he's a defensive stud. 6'11 260, can't score but UCLA has plenty of scorers.
Whatever, UCLA just played an overtime game. Not even close. Think about how these games normally turn out. UCLA has spent their load. They'll get blown out.

Yes there is a universe in which UCLA can win. But, it's just a terrible match up on paper. They aren't as good offensively or defensively, they play a lot of one-on-one ball which CAN work against Michigan on occasion, but it's hard to sustain that for 40 minutes as we saw LSU fizzle out down the stretch. They don't have anyone to counter Michigan's bigs and that's both Hunter AND Davis, who doesn't get enough attention for how solid he is.
UCLA has to come in with an incredible game plan, hope for foul trouble to plague a couple key Michigan guys, hope for an off-shooting night for Michigan, and they have to somehow manufacture enough one on one scoring against one of the best team defenses in college hoops. I mean, good luck. 🤷🏻♂️
