6:15 These guys are too young to get the Marion Barry reference. Barry was the mayor of Washington DC. While mayor he was caught smoking crack with a hooker and was forced to resign from office, four years later he was reelected as mayor of Washington DC. The crowd loved it because Dave was performing/taping his special in Washington DC
I was thinking the same thing that went right over their head.
@@steveni6101 it did but that’s what comments are for 😁
🎶 But we all kept it real and we voted him back 🎶 🙌🏾
We love Barry here
It actually doesn't matter if they got the Marion Barry reference. Good ol Rob Ford made sure they got the joke. 🙂
I'm a 53 year old white guy and Dave still does a better white guy voice than I do.
Lmao
SAME HERE & WHEN HE DOES WHITE FACE ON CHAPELLE SHOW OMG LMFAO STILL
Damn
"No cocaine in the white house.. selling secrets..."
Well that one aged well
I’m dying here on that one! 😂😂😂
Dave Chappelle's jokes make you laugh, and then you go into some deep thought, and often sadness at the situation.
Well Russia took Brittney Grimer and its pretty much playing out like this.
@@michaelseifu3212 grimes got what he deserved
@@michaelseifu3212what?
Nope , im pretty sure that's just u 😂
Dave Chapelle is a comedy genius. He’s goes where other comedians are afraid to go. Dave jokes about all races equally and is married to a beautiful American Phillipino woman, so you know that he’s not racist or trying to be hurtful. It’s pure comedy loosely based on history, stereotypes and things in the news etc. Do yourself a favour and watch some more of Dave’s stuff, he really is legendary 🙌🏻
Every time Brandon laughs you can feel that he really appreciates the humour, it’s genuine and translates really well across the screen. His laughing automatically makes me laugh 🙌🏻
Not watching Dave is a huge tragedy. He is a comedy genius. I prefer his new stuff better because it is more thought provoking, intelligent humor over the slapstick stuff, but not everyone does. Either way...his stand up is a good time!
This Dave Chappelle was so much better. Hard hitting jokes based on observations about many subjects. Now he just mostly lectures his audience while him telling actual jokes in his stand up specials took a backseat. He's now at a level that people will like his stuff no matter what because he's Dave Chappelle that did The Chapelle show but forgot what truly made him stand out when he did Killin' Them Softly over 20 years ago or his appearance on Def Comedy Jam. It wasn't him being real edgy. It was the fact that he told jokes that you could understand no matter what race or sex you are and holding a real mirror to America. The only time I've seen Dave do that recently was when the Jussie Smollett Chicago thing was going on. It didn't matter if you were American or lived on the other side of the world. His explanation and reasoning in thinking the Jussie Smollett story was made up was based on his observations and jokes on what is known about the city of Chicago that by the end of his joke you start to realize just how stupid that story actually sounded
... Nah.. he was plenty thought provoking in the past. You need to check out his san fran special from like 08
The Racial Draft is one of my favorites from Dave- with his co-writer, Bill Burr! Hysterical!
I didn’t know bill burr had anything to do with Dave. That’s amazing!! My mind is literally blown. I love them both even more now. I grew up watching Dave’s show and his movies. This is awesome lol
The quick bit about "because he was chinese" in the beginning is genius! Deflecting any immediate look at the middle east (because of the accent). Later in the bit, nobody even remembers that, because he deflects it before it even becomes a thought in your mind.
He saw how the system worked. He walked away. He came back. He broke the system. GOAT.
The funniest part about this to me was that the three young men watching it didn’t get the joke about it being okay to have a mayor who uses cocaine (Marion Barry) but not a president. 🤣
When they don't get the DC Mayor Coke Joke that is how i know i am old
whats special about it, was at the time, whites blacks asians and latinos all gathered around the tv on sunday nights and laughed our asses off together. racial comedy done to perfection. it had never been done so brilliantly before and has never been done since. those were good times, hopefully someday we can do that stuff again..
One thing about yall man that i really like, yall remind me of me and my boys back in the day always together and chillin… now we all married with kids and rarely link up. Just wanna tell yall make sure yall keep yall friendship strong and dont let nothing come in between because nothing better then real true homies, friends man…. Straight up
Yeah, same here. So many guys lose all their friends after getting married, having kids, etc. Then they end up at 50 lonely and bitter. Gotta keep those friendships from your youth cuz you'll never have such friends again otherwise.
Dave Chappelle is not just comedian, he's a philosopher too
philosopher?
A what
real rap💯
He passed up 50 million because he felt like the show would lose it's creativity. He came back over 10 years later and got 50 million to do a couple specials on Netflix.
They were actually trying to take creativity into their own hands... Making Dave's product not Dave's product.
@@jamesvincent5875 yes, thank you for providing more info!
And also the fact that he realize that Comedy Central was making literally billions of dollars off that show. I would be pretty pissed too about getting less than 5% For something that was completely my creation
@@michaelsurratt1864 It doesn't matter how much Comedy Central was making off of it... They are certainly entitled to the money that they make.
If what you just said had any logic whatsoever... It would mean that Dave chappelle is worth a billion dollars to do that show. And that's just not how this game works.
Quick question... How's inflation treating you? How much do you like overpaying for things?
Dave is the GOAT
Katt Williams “everyday I’m hustling “ intro is the best comedy intro I’ve seen ! Tooo funnny
Dave lives an hour from me in Ohio and Ive seen him once, he was really nice 😄 He recently purchased 52 acres of land so corporate America cant build on it.
Real comedy and comedians like Dave are wasted on todays youth.
Don't fret the 6 to 18 year olds are nothing like the 18 to 30 year olds. My son is 12 and I hear them speak. Not just the boys, the girls too. They are more akin to the older millennials who listen to emo music and watched South Park and did that kind of shit.
You've got to remember the millennials who are sick up the world we live in today are the one's raising these children.
This will date my comment but look at the Hogwarts Legacy numbers, half a million active players. Even before it has even been officially released. Just on the deluxe pre-order edition bonus (yesterday it went live).
The people playing at are the 30 something's who are raising the children of today.
This shit is almost over
The Chapelle show was one of the funniest shows back in the day Dave Chapelle was a legend he had a lot of other great comedians on that show as well the late Charlie Murphy was one of my favorites.
more dave chappelle he will leave u laughing the whole day
one of the best is trading spouses skit and clayton bigsby
@@deadshot4245 both of those were hilarious the man is a comedy genius.
Dave left for Africa because he had a 50 million dollar contract with Comedy Central, but they were trying to dictate what he could and couldn't do on the Chapelle Show, because the comedy pushed a lot of boundaries. The politically correct tried to silence him, just like they are doing now with the alphabet people! Netflix paid him 30 million for 3 specials, so while he spent a few years struggling making a comeback, he eventually got paid again. He's up there with Prior, Carlin, Murphy, and Chris Rock as stand up GOATS. He's my personal favorite.
Chappelle is above those comedians, because he's true to the ideals of the art of comedy.
Most comedians won't tackle "politically charged" issues. Patrice O'Neal, Dave Chappelle, and Ricky Gervais are a few of the only true comedians to be working in the modern era, and they've been criticized heavily for their outspoken jibes at social issues. Carlin did some too in his era.
Murphy, Rock, Hart, etc., and even Bill Burr never really did that, and were backed down and made to apologize for things they said. Burr is great, but he'll never be on the top tier of comedy because he doesn't have the courage of O'Neal, Chappelle, and Gervais.
What you're describing is the cover story. There was another issue , something that makes a strong man tremble in his boots.
Imo, chapelle is in a secluded group of Carlin and Prior. Those 3 are on an island all by themselves.
i was all with you until you had to say alphabet people
Dude on the right laughed. Now you know this is funny!! It’s ok to laugh and smile
i like the one where he talks about his 'white friend, chip'
Damn it you guys. It' almost 1AM and I need to work tomorrow. Been bingeing your stuff for 2 hours now.
I'm 17 so I never really got to watch Dave Chappelle until this year. And he's definitely funny.
greatest comedian of all time ..forsure..hands down
Y’all should check out the birdshot, buckshot joke from his special, Sticks and Stones
Love that special his best one imo
Chappell and Burr and Jim Carrey and Eddie Murphy funniest ever
Eddie murphy mothers burger
Best comedian ever in my book. Much love keep on this path also
Chappelle is one of the most, if not the most, intelligent comedians out there. Nobody better. Period.
Dave the GOAT of comedy. He was killer on Saturday night live.
If you guys wanna know exactly why he went to Africa watch is special called unforgiven he goes through what all happened
Are you referring to something that was completely separate from the money issue?
@@MrMarco855 what issue?
I would say 'Chappelle Show' is one of the best comedy shows to date.
Very unique stuff, very fresh even today, simply because Dave's timing is second to none.
A must see, culturally important piece of work, imo.
i find the facial expressions on each of you tell more about how you feel about the clips you are reacting too than the ending consensus you each do
Bro in the middle got me good with that “ohhh boyyy” 🤣😭
LOVED ur young man genuine reactions!
"that's dark humour" most smile I've ever seen him do 👍
Right?
Just found you you guys and loving the content. You guys should make a video introducing yourselves so we could know you guys better.
Should check out his 3am in the ghetto
Dave is, objectively, the smartest, and funniest comedian there is. There are videos that explain exactly what makes him brilliant and they’re so interesting. Been doing stand up since he was 14. Has so many specials with strong messages.
i guarantee you will watch more Chappelle after this. great content and look forward to next video. you should do eddie Murphy delirious. i woukd love to see your reactions haha
Dave is brilliant and funny! Have always loved him, funny af 😂💯
If you haven’t you guy NEED to react to his stand up part where he talks about Sesame Street, absolutely hilarious
One smack, two smacks, three smacks ah ah ah
"why you think he disappeared?"
"I don't know. Illuminati?"
🤣😳🤔
White friend chip... you won't be disappointed!
I absolutely love the sense of humor of the one in the middle
🤣🤣🤣
I LOVE Dave Chappelle! He has been around for a long time, and he hasn't changed a bit. Nobody is safe with him. That's why I think it's funny that people get offended now. He does not GAF
I think y'all may have been born around the time Clinton was President LMAO.. no shade... He was just a sweet saxophone playing country boy from Arkansas who had a little bit of fun in the Oval Office.. he's married to Hillary. I really don't blame him LMAO
his comedy is intelligent and thoughtful...love it
All I know is he walked away from a 50 million dollar contract from Comedy Central like it was just another Tuesday for him lol
More Chappelle
🙏🏼
Much more Chappelle
For those younger viewers wondering, back in the 90's when Bushy Jr. was running for Prez, they used his former drug addiction against him as ammo. You would see it in his competitor's ads how he had a drug problem, and how he threw cocaine parties as governor.
there is a chronological order to when each of you get the joke that's funny
My top two. Is Dave chappelle and Bill burr. Recently
Dave disappeared because he was getting more people telling him his skits weren’t PC, so he quit. Now he is Netflix biggest comedian making $100m plus for 3 special runs
Brandon like “I never heard of Bill Burr”…while watching his 4th Bill Burr video…with his normal ‘tude.
Yo have to react to trevor noah.
I remember when they used to run Killin'em Softly on loops on Comedy Central, Dave made me want to be a comic.
The Mexicans that took 4 people at the border and killed 2, obviously did not see this Dave Chappelle skit.
Dave Chapelle started having what he called a nervous breakdown and said he needed to go back to his roots and just take a break from “Hollywood” the pressures of his celebrity, paparazzi, all of it. He needed a mental health break. Im very impressed that he stopped everything, and took the time he needed and came back when he was ready.
Dave is a GOAT👊🏽
Hellooooooo from Auckland, New Zealand 👋I found you guys on my recommended list a few days ago but just subscribed today. I like the dude on the right: seems very sharp. Plus, his reaction @ 5:37 cracked me up 😂
You can tell this isn’t funny to them at all. Maybe Dave comes from a time they can’t relate to.
Seen other young people react the same way to comedy
Brother in the middle, doesn't even look like he's watching the same video. No smiles tonight
bass pro shops sponsor? :P hahah I recall looking at their catalogs... IN THE 80s !
That’s the ‘REAL’ Dave.
The one that is out there now , isn’t the real….❤
How do you not know this..... watch more Dave❤❤❤
Nothing makes me happier than watching Young Guns reacting to old school videos. I just like seeing how they react the same exact way I reacted when I first saw the same thing. It goes to show all generations are the same and I'm saying that as a white man.
React to PATRICE O NEAL !!!!!
His original contract was for 10% of earnings. When it blew up, they wanted to cap the amount of profit available for profit sharing at $500MM. He walked. They told him they would smear his name, and before he got off the plane in Ohio, the world thought he was a crazy dope fiend.
Is it Brock on the right with the earrings? This grandma just wanted to tell you that I feel you. I see your thoughtful expressions and I can see your heart in your eyes. God bless you.
I'm dying 😂🤣 Why would anyone start giving shout-outs in a situation like that?
The politics bit is 100% true. I used to work in a gym and overheard regularly these guys talking about their wife and kids then in the same breath talking about these women he was banging that he met on an app, and f'ing her in the ass. But ask them something else and they wouldn't answer
"Dark humor" good one! 😅
Brandon is by far the most knowledgeable of the CF
Pure genius. Cure for all blues.
Dave's white guy voice gets me all the time
Ever since i watched Con Air i loved Dave Chapell. Everybone in this man is funny as F
Dave- the philosophically inclined comedian.
Wanna your best ones.. thanks for the laugh!!
What is it about watching people reaction is so engaging ... Bill Burr brought me here. Netflix 2022 special is good
I love you guys
React to "Black people vs. N***as" by Chris Rock next.
Looks like y'all didn't get the mayor reference. Go back. LoL! Love you young men.
One of our funniest and most intelligent comedians. Winner of the Mark Twain award. You all need to know and listen to him. One of the greatest of all time!
you know Dave 'left' because it all got upside down. I still recognize his absolute observational genius.
If you dont watch Dave, you are sleepin broski!! 😂😂
One thing people forget is there is one last line to the song, and the only way to hear it was llive version. The line was "There are no gangstas in paradise ". Also the background singing was done by a preacher and his choir
The first time I ever seen Dave Chapelle was on the movie Con Air when he played Pinball. I've been a fan ever since!
Og right here just like to see young brothers get they bag legally…. Keep it up lil lions and keep grinding!!!
Love the show and also a huge fan though I have one request please introduce your names
Watch Marilyn singing Happy Birthday to Kennedy. Lol
Anytime someone does the "white voice" is hilarious.
About that $50M. For the record, that's what CC wanted to pay him. He was owed 50% of what the show made over 2 years. It made $500M. The fine print said that if the show made over a certain amount, all they (CC) had to pay was 10%. Thus $50M. Yeah. Eventually, he got his money and his name back.
The issue you're talknig about was a secondary circumstance. There was another monster that made Dave leave the country. By comparison even that huge sum of money was a minor concern, what happened to Dave was an unspeakable torment.
Please do charlie Murphy true stories Rick James/prince pleaseeeee
U guys need to do jo koy specials on Netflix tge seattle and Hawaii ones so fuckin hilarious
Just discovered your channel glad I did your reaction at 5:37 had me weak af 😂😂😂😂
I'M 19 AND GREW UP ON KING'S OF COMEDY(AND QUEENS), THANKS MOM LOL.
I had this on dvd years ago! Always loved the section on Sesame Street worth a watch so funny 🤣
Dave the G.O.A.T. so ya'll missing out
Yall have to watch the next part about Monica Lewinsky
