Excellent video and we loved all of the cost data. Our numbers are similar. Regarding retirement, when we were faced with an unexpected "forced early retirement", we did our research as well. The one theme that was common with everyone we spoke with was that if they could do ONE thing different, they would have done the RV thing much earlier. The message is clear: get out there and do it!

@@thewrightlife I thought about that after I posted my comment. Keeping everything organized through countless moves, your undoubtably long work weeks, etc. is definitely a full time job! We moved 4 times in the last 4 years of my career and I know how grateful I am that my wife is incredibly organized. It was a team effort.
Thanks for the sharing your experience so far. My wife and I are about to begin what we are calling our extended RV travel. We currently live in Alaska and are not quite sure where we want to live in retirement. So we want to 'scour' the backroads of America until we find a place we want to call home. Like you guys we are retired military and consider the world our oyster, true nomads. We are no strangers to traveling with an RV but only recently started considering and planning to do it full-time. We are gathering information from other RVer's experience to hopefully avoid unnecessary mistakes while taken on the challenge of retirement RVing. Thanks for sharing your expenses, I think it’s really helpful for those of us trying to plan for future travels. What are your thoughts on Thousand Trails memberships? I know there are limitations on their locations, but they look like if they were in locations you were traveling to, they would help reduce the cost.

If I we’re considering them as an option I would be interested in the initial membership fee and any additional annual fees in comparison to the locations provided. If there are campgrounds at locations that I would plan to frequent it may be a good option. However, if it would limit my travel options then I would be concerned that it me be too restrictive for our travel style. Hope this helps. Safe travels

Yes…we have used several MWR campgrounds. Just like normal campgrounds, some are better than others. Unfortunately, the best one can be difficult to get into. Best of luck and safe travels.

Any plans for travels out west?
The farthest west on this trip will be to Sedalia, Mo for the Airstream Rally….Then back East So much more to see out west on a future road trip. 🙂
