Been getting into NMS VR pretty heavy the last few days. Nice to find a channel doing a current playthrough, and a permadeath one at that! The game finally clicked for me today, and it's starting to snowball a bit. I'm still trying to take it slow and organically. It helps that I get sidetracked easily, and this game seems to encourage that. Even then, 40% of my time is just me putting my Frigate in an interesting spot, jetpacking outside and just staring at everything.
Seems you have the right approach, the game is about exploring, seeing planets that no other player has seen. There is a degree of satisfaction knowing that each players discoveries leave a permanent mark on the game. One of my game highlights was finding a planet that I had discovered three years before.
@StephenSilverbeard It took a bit to get into the art style. I love it, but typically, I enjoy realistic space games. Once I got over that hiccup, I really started to see what the game was going for. I look forward to the rest of the series!
When NMS was first released it had a 1970's comic book art work, which was a bit over the top for me. Over time it has been toned down, find now the artwork that gives oddly realistic alien feeling. If that makes sense.
NMS ADrift took me roughly 4 hours, pretty fast for me doing an expedition, where the current speedrun WR is at 71 minutes. XD. Main difference for me this time is that I tried speedrunning previous one, learning that expeditions are mostly temporary and contains of repeatable stuff probably done in the main save already, the perks are the main reason.

Congratulations on the fun. I am too easily distracted to do speed runs, so leave it to the experts, :))
Continue with this series....is it possible that the YT playlist is reversed?
Had a look, it seems YT seems to have defaulted to newest first, will have to keep an eye on that.
