They are currently in some sort of financial problem, but they are improving! you might as well get the A350-1000 as its a better substitute! if you really want a different aircraft try booking through other airlines that stops and in Abu Dhabi, half the times the continuing flight is a B787

I travelled with my family in business class through Etihad, from Toronto, I had the worse experience of my life will never travel in Etihad again.
