I know you mostly do Playstation era games and beyond, but as far as licensed games I'm curious about Konami's The Adventure of Batman and Robin on SNES. Strangely enough, even though it's Konami in the early 90s, the game -- unlike their TMNT stuff -- is relatively obscure. It released without much fanfare just after Christmas of '94 and was ignored between the shadows of the upcoming Playstation/Saturn and the huge impact of Donkey Kong Country. It's a well-made piece of licensed material that not many people bought, and I doubt many people know about today. It would be great if you looked at it.
@@blammowammo5886 A lot of people cared for that, it was the end of Skywalkers' saga, pretty important stuff. Too bad IT SUCKED DICK on a saturday night thinking that the stripper he hooked up with was a girl.
I just wanna say really quick, Doc and Skipper were opposites in some ways, which I personally think gave a fresh breath of a mentor. The really big difference between them is that Doc was hiding who he was, he wanted no one to know he was the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. Skipper, however, held up a legacy. He wanted people to think of him as a war hero, he exaggerated who he was instead of hiding that he was ever in the war. Obviously it's not severely different, both hid something, but they hid it for a different motive. Doc wanted nothing to do with fame, Skipper did. In the end, both of them do get over their fear and have essentially the same thing about "wow look who it is" when they return, so they are in a sense the same character, just a different background and motive.
Man, I gotta admit I thought you already had 500 thousand plus subs. This channel has more polish than a lot of other larger ones. Thanks again for all your hard work!
Sky Odyssey on PS2 is massively underrated. There is no enemies but you do stuff like fly low altitude through a forest, fly over a mountain, escaping a flooding temple and have your engine conk out over rapids and have to guide your plane down them. It's a ton of fun.
I love those memes about Cars having popes, wars, and recreation because there are gaps in the lore where it would normally paralleled with human history. But there’s at least some sense that it’s a world that exists to contain some sort of narrative. With Planes that is gone. They give up. There are human elements that are just missing, but would make sense for the world to exist. And by making planes sentient, does that mean all mechanical creations are sentient? Do they recreate? Do cars recreate traditionally? Do planes bud? Are there sentient APCs that mow down civilian cars?
Any chance of seeing the mobile cars game? or the Need For Speed Most Wanted mobile java game? its actually REALLY impressive, with full polygonal 3D graphics and all
"Dogfights would be too violent." Glances at the multiplayer for the UP videogame. Seriously though, that'd make a good review. It's a Lego style platformer (character switching and all) but the multiplayer and some story missions are this fun arcade biplane fighter.
Oh, please do Wet. I think about that game every time you bring up A2M/Behaviour. I feel like people assume it's some garbage shovelware when they see the box (which, admittedly, is understandable), but it actually had a lot of neat ideas that encouraged you to run around and look cool in an era where most shooters were about hiding behind cover and waiting for your shields to recharge. I'd even go as far as to call it ahead of its time. It had a health regen system that encouraged aggressive play like Doom 2016, Prince of Persia style platforming integrated into shooting like Titanfall, and you were even sliding around on your knees while shooting things in slow motion and then getting a character action style performance rank a year before Vanquish. Also you have a big enough audience that maybe you could get Behaviour's attention and get it ported to PC.

I'll be patient though; I know there's many, many, MANY more weird kids' movie tie-ins, and Java-based/J2ME/handheld games, for you to look at first ;)
There was one Cars game he missed for the Wii. That one random Mater's Tall Tales game that throws in random mini games for the stories. Seems like a Mario Party rip to me, but it was fun more to less.
you should definitely check out Sky Odyssey for a more realistic plane sim for people looking for a challenging flying game that's more or less open world in a level sense with customization on planes, rebel raiders Op Nighthawk for a more arcade feeling, and one of the ace combat games. Some good scifi ones are the Star wars: star fighter and Jedi Star fighter games. some other ones like the WW2 flight sims are also pretty good, i'm pretty sure Heros of the Pacific was one of them.
2:44 that 180 flip animation is straight ripped out of Snoopy vs the Red Baron (PS2). Heck, the controls and whole feel of this game look basically the same as that one. Heck, I can also pin all the shown environments to specific environments in the Snoopy game. They took heavy notes... though it seems like the notes paid off. That Snoopy game was fantastic! As a kids game, that is. One of the reasons it landed so well with me was that it was easier than a lot of other games I played, so I could actually get thru it. It has some fun concepts, it's goofy and over the top in a very consistent and kinda polished way, and the game has some good variety.
You ever have a dream about section in a game, you never saw anything related to it, heck! You didn’t even know it existed! I was watching the video and saw him as a plane fly around the castle area, and I was like, “Hey... I saw this in a dream once.”
When listing the games made by Behaviour why did you leave out Dead by Daylight? That game was a critical and commercial success and is still updated 4 years later.
Fun fact, in a Mater's tall tales short it was shown that the Doc Hudson ripoff plane taught Mater how to fly and then Mater joined a group of stunt planes and he broke the sound barrier and almost died... huh
You should play metal arms. A glitch in the system. Its an original 3rd person shooter released in the early 2000s. I'd say it deserves more traction. It even had a sequel planned!
My dad had a programmer friend who somehow made a makeshift port of this to pc when I was around 7, from what I remember it was based of the wii version and was so unoptimized it burned out the integrated graphics on my childhood windows 7 pc when I tried to run it, I really wish I had the access to the code now because I think he made a makeshift wii emulator just so me and my brother could play a shovel ware game, my dad lost touch with him around 2014, and he made the port in 2013 as my best guess
I wouldn't exactly call Ripslinger or Skipper ripoffs. Rip isn't the runner up who is always coming in second place. And the difference between Doc and Skipper is their backstories. One is about a car who was kicked out of racing because of a crash after being a champion for like 3 years straight. Where Skipper only flew one mission. Plus, Cars is about a hotshot rookie who needed to learn to take things slow. Where Planes is about a new rookie on his first race trying to prove that he can do more than just what he was built for. But, the second Planes film is better. Plus, has Ed Harris in it.
After binge-(re)watching all of your Cars and Planes videos, I'm surprised yoy haven't covered the DS and PSP versions, as well as Fire & Rescue. Maybe someday...
If you need more talking vehicle fixes I should recommend Seek & Destroy on the ps2. It was a budget game that had some weirdly silly depth and talking tanks. We can just call it Disney's Tanks. I remember relatively fondly. Just throwing it out there.

The Genesis version is also a Treasure-esque action game with music by Jesper Kyd that's just as good. Either one would be good material for a video.
