    Suzie is like my modern day Bob Ross. Her videos are fun to watch, I learn, and it is it's own art form and it's beautiful. Suzie's voice is so soothing. I love watching these to relax and have been known to fall asleep watching them. Only because of said relaxation.

      She is relaxing but then my brain stays up since I am learning. My nails are trash, I work with my hands so it is just how it is. But I am learning all this basic nail stuff so they are looking better, still trash but instead of a day I get a couple days out of a color.

    Im not a nail tech but I found your videos trying to learn about gel nail polish. Then after I discovered about builder gel from your videos I decided to give it a try. Last week I tried one nail and I was horrible. My husband has been forced to sit through so many of your videos and he asked if he could try it. Turns out he’s been paying attention! He did my remaining fingers and did a pretty good job. It’s not perfect but red polish hid the imperfections. I don’t know if I can talk him into doing it again but I’m gonna try. Thanks for your awesome videos!❤️

      My husband appreciates that I switched from acrylic to polygel; he *hated* the smell of the monomer!
      I've always shown him my work, especially as I've gotten better and better with practice and I just get so excited by how good they look. He's a pretty quiet guy, and after 20 years of marriage I've gotten used to subtle compliments from him. Then the other day a lady at the store said she loved my nails, and my husband said "Don't they look great? She does them herself." Coming from such a shy and quiet guy, it made me so happy! He not only directly complimented my work, he talked to a stranger to do it! I felt more flattered by that than by anything else I've ever heard about my DIY nail art. I swear it made my whole *body* light up.

    Suzie, I am a former Hairdresser, nail tech. I got my license in 1971 :-) Long time ago. I think I might have been the first person who did acrylic nails and then gel nails when they came out. Don't laugh, hey I may not have been the first but I was definitely one of the curious ones and I remember how chunky acrylic nails looked when they first made an appearance in the salons. I was all about it, I still am. I left my career for a while to become a social worker for 30 years after about 15 years of owning a salon. Now I am so excited to come back to my creative side and doing nails again. Not so much into doing hair, but nails with all the fun stuff I cannot resist! Your videos for this old bird are so helpful and get me really excited to get back at it. Thank you for all you do here to provide awesome education for all of us ♥ Can you share with us the color and product name of the polish you have on. I Love it I MUST HAVE IT :-)

    You are not dyslexic Susie, I think all of us feel the same way. It makes complete sense to have the small numbers going up to the largest numbers. But, I think tips originated in China, lol
    Yes, I like the tips with the C curve.
    It would be really nice to see a company come out with really great almond, ballerina and stiletto in multiple lengths.
    I find many tips are such a waste because many of these sizes are never used on anybody.
    I also wanted to mention how highly organized you always seem on your table. Maybe you could do a video about how to keep things from running away on you. It seems like when I’m doing my own nails I have stuff all over the place. I can never keep things looking so organized and neat like you do.

    I am definitely not a nail tech but I do my own nails frequently and I had an idea for a design that would require someone with much more skill than I have. Build a crystal clear nail (kind of thick), then e-file it to look like the facets on a diamond. Then use some kind of iridescent powder or polish and top coat it. So that it looks like the nail was carved from an actual gem. Think you could do this for me? I would really love to see it.

    Here’s a good tip...to prevent the top of your glue container from gluing up on you, making it hard to remove, rub some cuticle oil around the threads of the top of the bottle and do not tighten the cover to tight when you’re done using it. Works like a charm! Beautiful nails Suzie, but, like you, I’d rather sculpt using forms. I laughed so hard when the tip flew off when you were filing! lolol That has happened to me too! lolol Love ALL your videos! Merry Christmas! xo

    Thank you so much for all of your wondeful videos, Suzie. I have been doing my own gel nails for a few years now and they've been okay but nothing special. With the extra time on my hands lately, I decided I wanted to improve and build my knowledge. After watching many of your videos over the last week, I have found that my gel polish prep and application has already improved dramatically. Hopefully with practice and watching more of your videos, I will become even better. Thank you for being an amazing teacher to us all and keeping us positive, especially through this difficult time.

    This is another great video but could you do one on how to deal with a clients less than ideal natural nail. For example, my natural nail is VERY flat, it has no curve and getting tips to fit is impossible because they're too curved. I have to smoosh the tip so flat but even with the best glue and primer and prep they just pop up in the center. Not all of them but at least one or 2 and the longer my natural nail gets, the flatter they grow

    • @annag2456
      @annag2456 5 лет назад +8

      Try soaking the tips in very warm water, then flatten a bit, to fit.
      Also, as time goes by when you work with forms and pinch every time, they will start adapting a c-curve of their own over time. Mine did.

    • @mszoomy
      @mszoomy 5 лет назад +7

      @@annag2456 thanks that's a great tip. I wish I had learned it back when I first started doing my nails 30 years ago LOL where you been all my life? I've just recently started using the dip powder technique after about 10 years of doing nothing. I don't have the time or patience to do a full acrylic or even gel set anymore. The dip powder tho is so much easier for me. The finished result might not be quite as strong but I'm not climbing mountains with them 😉. I totally understand the importance of building up that stress point but I find the powder gives my thin nails enough strength to hold up under regular use without feeling like something is stuck on the end of my fingers. It works for me. I'm self taught and we didn't have a thing called the internet or RUclips back then, I really wish this sort of thing (RUclips videos) was available to me when I was learning

    • @jaydenharris7383
      @jaydenharris7383 5 лет назад +1

      I have a similar problem; one of my fingers naturally curves down (not c curve) so much tips tend to be too flat at the contact point for my nails. I’m usually pretty good at getting to the point I just need overlays, instead of extensions, but it does cause a few problems for my nail tech!
